Swarovski held a private design exhibition at the Gajah Gallery in Singapore which ran till Dec 6 2012 - to showcase its wide ranging collaborations in the worlds of fashion, jewelry, and furniture design.
The presentation includes jewelry designs by Zaha Hadid, hair pieces by Philip Tracey and Shaun Leane, dresses by Hussein Chalayan, Yiqing Yin, Prabal Gurung, Mary Katrantzou, as well as lighting collaborations with Tokujin Yoshioka and Tord Boontje.
The exhibition also introduces the Atelier Swarovski SS13 collection, which includes pieces by shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood (a collection of brightly colored crystal pearls and enamel), ex creative director of Azzarro Vanessa Seward (including a stunning mesh and intricate beading necklace), and product designer Stefano Poletti (with a flower inspired collection).
What was also interesting for the world-renowned luxury and crystal maker was the collaborative effort with Lasalle College of The Arts design students. Fashion Design and Textiles BA (Hons) students, Allegra Lee, Teresa Lim, Valencia Angelina Soenoyo, Angie Tan and Wu Aijing from LASALLE College of the Art debuted their avant-garde creations at the exhibition.
On this collaboration, Nadja Swarovski, Head of Communications and Design Services and Member of the Executive Board, Swarovski Crystal Business said, "Our collaboration with students of LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore is the first step in inspiring designers with the versatility and opportunities of working with Swarovski Elements."
The by-invitation only exhibition featured amazing works by these up-and-coming designers, and here's a visual walk-through by PictureMatters (via Ogilvy&Mather SG) of what talents we have on our island!
