"A Song of Ice and Fire (commonly abbreviated as ASoIaF) is an ongoing series of epic fantasy novels by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin. Martin began writing the series in 1991 and the first volume was published in 1996.
The story of A Song of Ice and Fire takes place in a fictional world, primarily on a continent called Westeros but also on a large landmass to the east, known as Essos. Most of the characters are human but as the series progresses others are introduced, such as the cold and menacing supernatural Others from the far North and fire-breathing dragons from the East, both thought to be extinct by the humans of the story. There are three principal story lines in the series: the chronicling of a dynastic civil war for control of Westeros among several competing families; the rising threat of the Others, who dwell beyond an immense wall of ice that forms Westeros' northern border; and the ambition of Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled daughter of a king who was murdered in another civil war fifteen years before, to return to Westeros and claim her rightful throne. As the series progresses, the three story lines become increasingly interwoven and dependent upon each other."
"Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. Set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, Game of Thrones has a large ensemble cast and follows several story arcs throughout the course of the show. The first major arc concerns the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros through a web of political conflicts among the noble families either vying to claim the throne or fighting for independence from whoever sits on it. A second focuses on the last descendant of the realm's deposed ruling dynasty, who has been exiled to Essos and is plotting to return and reclaim the throne. The third follows the Night's Watch, a military order defending the realm against threats from beyond Westeros's northern border."

It feels like they're taking Nettles' role (debate in the books whether she was Daemon's daughter or lover) and giving it to Rhaena and the silver-haired mystery woman in the trailer who may also be a gender-bent Trystane Truefyre.
These are some of the (rumoured right now of course) changes from the book that has me VERY WORRIED about the rest of the seasons of HOTD.
Season 1 was excellent as and when we watched it “live” but can be picked apart quite easily 2 years on. Nothing fatally egregious in season 1, except the Rhaenys dragon pit scene. I do have think the writers will take a lot of creative liberties as the seasons go on
@docmitchell4658 what changes were rumoured?
@@TheHetzer-xy9lb oh just the ones the OP just mentioned
The makeup department absolutely gave up after they made Corlys's wig. Teen Leanor"s hair was very hard to look at, but those poor twin little girls' hair was comical.
I’m only a few minutes in, but what I IMMEDIATELY got from Daemon being in the empty throne room and Viserys’ crown falling to the floor, is that Daemon is probably either dreaming of, or reflecting back on, the last time he was in that room. That was when the Greens were trying to help Vaemond usurp the Driftwood Throne. When the King hobbled to the iron throne, his crown fell from his head, and Daemon put the crown back on and helped his brother sit the throne one last time. That is very close to the situation they find themselves in again. This might also be some sort of flashback or maybe, like you said, a vision from someone… possibly Haelaena?
When aemond puts the eyepatch on he speaks Japanese
Just as a side thought, I always thought that the reason why Daemon went into the dragon pit and sang the Valyrian lullaby to Vermithor was to thru to kind of ‘tame’ him so that Rhaena could try to claim him, since she wasn’t able to claim Vhagar first.
But hugh hammet has been cast?
@@machIANvellian7797 I know… but there is another wild dragon that doesn’t get claimed out there, too, so who knows?🤷🏻♀️

Wtf did they do to my boi sunfyre. Not golden and the previous horns just gone.
It think it more of an “aerodynamic design” if that’s even a term lol, but the horns are the same it’s just because he’s in flight so his body and more importantly his head his more aligned with his neck but when he’s grounded the horns are still visually present , thedragondemands has a video about him and the other dragons explaining the designs in HOTD, if you’d like to check it out
considering how aemond and criston seem to be bros, it would be hilarious if that scene of aemond lying in someone's lap was with criston
Will never happen but I would be so there for it
It’s Alicent almost positive 1:36:15 she usually has a couple rings on her right and just the one on her left. It’s the least fancy of her rings and it’s on her left hand.
If it's her, she's probably comforting Aemond. Are you sure it's her?
I would LOVE to see some memory sorrow and thorn books, I've just been getting into them. I read the prequel novel "brothers of the wind" and it was absolutely transporting.
"Straight off the bat, I knew that this could happen - which makes me better than you!" truly the chad book-reader experience
I think Aemond is lying in the lap of the Madame of the Brothel.
I agree!!!
I think the woman with the fan at the 46:00 mark is actress Parker Lepaine. Who has been cast in an as yet to be determined role.
Good video mate,
1:02:23 I think this is Aemond because the banners are green still
The person walking up is Daemon, but the shot of the Throne is from the previous trailer when Aemond was walking up to it.
The darklyn armor is from Vikings, from one of the English kingdoms.
Not gonna lie, looks good on them, I'm loving the new armors, just wish they retconned the Stark aesthetics
its a bit weird that the prequel show is taking inspiration of a later medieval period but I like the heraldry, agree with the stark bit
@@MrDukeSilverr it's a much better aesthetic, even if it makes GOT look too retro. Everyone is really fancy in the books and I like to see that.
Harold could possibly come back after hearing about B&C feeling like it's his fault.
Thumbs Up
Could the lady behind the fan be Jeyne Arryn?
It’s a shame HBO has them on this tight schedule. If he had the right time and the money I know Condal would do a lot more.
Maybe Sunfyre “The Golden” wasn’t as golden or beautiful as described because that was Green propaganda
Another season! House of the Bogan! Whoo!
*Dragon. I meant Dragon. 😂
My first thought after the Valyrian woman behind the fan being Helaena was maybe they aged up Jaehaera? We know she isn’t a very emotional person, so that kind of blank stare might fit her character. Or maybe Larra Rogare? We know she’s much older and taller than Viserys so she’d likely be played by an older actress but I don’t think it fits with the timeline since the season seems to be leading up to Rook’s Rest for its big spectacular finale and Viserys and Aegon don’t get sent away until after that and that would imply Jace dies by the end of this season. My final answer is probably some Lysene dancer or courtesan, perhaps a mistress of Aegon II or maybe it’s part of Daemon’s Harrenhal dream since Mysaria did offer to get Daemon a “companion” with silver hair in season 1 and maybe that could give us some insight to his character or something
👍
Not going to watch because spoilers are cringe but have a comment for the algorithm gods and a like as well
Thanks memento!
People's accents improve over time if you live around People who speak the language..... how many foreign actors( heavy accent)..Now speak fluent english....😐
Mysaria accent sounded like it changed with every episode in season one, not like siro forrell who had a foreign accent. Mysaria accent was out of the world level trash
The actress herself is British and has a very crisp British accent irl. So, last season was definitely a ChoiceTM, and I think they came to their senses and just let her speak in her normal voice
Every episode she was in ...was a time jump...
More realistic if it improves through the years as she gains power in Flea Bottom....
My favorite part of the trailer and photoshoot is daemyra self inserts coping. They're so insecure with alicent that they're pretending to care about aegon 🤣 so they can pit him against her, it's hilarious. "Alicent the worst character and started the war" but also "why is a irrelevant side character on the cover where's my ao3 husband Matt Smith". Delicious Targ tears.
I hate live streams, I just wait for them to finish and watch as a video
Booooo, they’re fun
You can rewind livestreams on RUclips for future reference! I'm usually an hour late to the streams, so that's what I do
Honestly female boy daeron would be kinda awesome considering Tessarion is nicknamed the Blue Queen
Out of the box suggestion for mysterious valyrian looking woman. Perhaps Alys Rivers in a glamour trying to woe Daemon (everyone knows he only gets it up for valyrians). The writers have allegedly said they want to lean into her witchiness. And the ring on the guys hand in the bedroom scene looks like Daemon's
If they gender swapped Daeron that’s the dumbest and most retarded thing the show runners can do, as if the story doesn’t beat you over the head with how “Whamen this and Whamen that” just make the fucking show by the books and stop tryna modernize something that the normies wouldn’t care about unless you dumbed it down to its lowest level
So according to the show cannon, Aegon the Conqueror is half black (Velaryon). Also Jeahaerys & Alysanne. That means Viserys and Deamon is too.
Velaryons were never suppose to be black though. That is a tv exclusive thing not book thing.
@@Carlos16ng I know they look exactly like Targaryen's in the books. I'm specifically talking about the show cannon.
If that is Helaena and I hope it’s not why the hell is she this insignificant character? Her mother marries her off to her cheating drunk rapist brother and her other brother post Driftmark is a murdering psycho that her paternal uncle is going to order a hit on her son because of. Not to mention she’s in MAYBE blink and you’ll miss it moments in the trailer.
She will have a big part in episode 1 I assure you
@@Cbutton I understand that thanks to her uncle’s revenge plan on her brothers but it’s like the trailers care more about the power struggle and the war and not her. Helaena was one of my favorite characters from part 2 and it frustrates me that we have an amazing actress who we don’t seem to even really care about but that’s the story I guess
no Daeron, Sara snow, Black Alys or Nettles smh
Hopefully they're keeping that secret. I want to see all of them too.
why would sara snow be in the show the maesters said she doesnt even exist 😭😭
@@javierp894legit these people I swear
@@javierp894 having read the book, you trust the word of the maesters???
I know Ryan Condal wanted 10 episodes but HBO insisted on the 8. I also know they had to rearrange the events of the book. Perhaps they had to push that back. I’m pretty sure there’s no Sara Snow. Too much time on the Starks when the Targaryens are the main characters.
Aegons armor looked fine until they added those big ugly over the top fantasy shoulder pads. His just looks plane and boring😐
Daemon and rhaenys armor however looks phenomenal as if it was designed around their bodies.
Meanwhile aemond doesn’t even have armor 😭 and he seems as if he doesn’t need a helmet??
I actually think the shoulder pads make the armor look better but it's still not as cool as his book version, aemond not wearing armor is odd not sure why he isn't especially when the book establishes he does wear armor.
That’s exactly what’s kinda rubbing me the wrong way bro, because the book goes out the way to tell you he dawns armors when taking to the skies, I didn’t think much of it in S1 Ep10 because it was more of a diplomatic mission rather than one of combat so he DIDNT NEED IT then but 7 hells HES GOING HEAD ON AGAINST A DRAGON…….. GIVE HIM BLOODY ARMOR 😂
it’s nothing “narrative wise” but characters not wearing helmets during combat situations drives me nuts🤣
I don’t think armor will help when flying on dragon against other dragon. Rhaenys and Aegon are examples of this. Armor can only help against archers, but then you need a helmet, and with one eye you can no longer see anything in depth, not to mention putting on a helmet
@@beden653 better than riding around essentially naked. Even book rhaenyra wore armor when engaging in situations involving combat and she wasn’t fighting a dragon. Sure it won’t cushion your fall from 200ft but LOGICALLY your not sending dragon riders into battle without armor
@@youngveteran6368 I agree, I'm just trying to find an excuse for myself why the main riders have armor, but he doesn't. It seems that Beila also didn’t have armor in the trailers, which is strange.
