Looks good … Here where I live you have to use ice and water in valleys and the lower 36” of a roof …I do the bottom 60” of roof and the same in valleys …
Glad to finally be in my new apartment and home- missed you for the last nine weeks! You have always had "hammer knowledge" and the stuff to use it well- you seem to really be getting the flow of instructional You Tube- Awesome! I do have a question, though; Does Em know about these strange dreams you say you are having? This project looks a treat- will have to "binge to date" first chance I get! FR
I'm not a builder or in the trades. Just a tech guy who likes to DIY, but I'm interested in knowing why you ran the OSB vertically and not horizontally. In all other videos I've watched, the sheathing has been installed horizontally. Love the way you explain why you build and install a certain way. Great content and keep up the great work! Cheers.
it is due to the lay out of the roof, the trusses are 8 feet apart and the purlins are every 2 feet. typical stick frame has trusses every 16- 24 inches and the sheeting is what ties the trusses together.
why was the valley in two different angles. why not just make the first gable wider so that the valley ran smooth straight all the way to the bottom instead of the two different angles. just looks strange also harder for valley metal install correct?
Fall protection. It's not just for smart people. I was glad to see that you guys caught it.
The roof space is so amazing
Thanks!
Great job for sure. Very nice finish as well and great explanations. Thank you for your video.
Thanks for watching!

Nice work. Why didn't you use ice & water shield in the valley and around the eaves?
Excelente trabajo 👌🏻 saludos desde chile 👊
Thank you!
i always wondered how valleys were framed. thanks!
You’re welcome!
Awesome
Thank you!
nice job. very nice
Thank you!
With OSB at $40 to $50 a sheet that is a huge chunk of change for that roof
Absolutely ridiculous since two years ago it was $9/sh
Why are you running the OSB with the 8ft
Side veriticial instead of horizontal I've been doing roofing for 45yrs and never seen it like that before
V
These trusses are 8’ OC so running it this way gives us more points of contact
Fantastic work. Do you recommend peel and stick membrane on osb roof sheathing

I know you were a police officer before( thank you for your service). How long and what did you do to learn your exceptional building skills?
Started remodeling houses and kept at it no matter what
...I wonder why OSB wasn't used on your house. It was steel straight to the pearlings.
