Hello Carrie! I'd just like to say I've been a subscriber of yours for a few months now and well I absolutely love you and your videos! I love how genuine, bubbly, friendly and chatty you are in all your videos and how you reply to many people comments (because most bigger RUclipsrs don't do that) and how you talk about things you love and your so passionate about them and how absolutely amazing and talented you are at singing and writing! and I also love that you make more than one video a week and that you don't just churn out challenges and tags all the time you make videos you enjoy making and I can really see that and that makes you a pleasure to watch! I also love the fact that you don't do tons of ads and sponsorships and that that you aren't always self promoting and asking for likes (not that there's anything wrong with that) and last but not least (I could say a ton more about you Carrie but I don't want this to be a massive essay of why I love Carrie aha) I love how quirky you are and that you aren't afraid to just be yourself and have your own style. So yeah I'd just thought I'd let you know how inspiring and amazing you are and I so glad I found your channel and I'm extremely proud to be a Hopeful (and I can't wait for "On The Otherside) and I love you lots! Massive hugs xxx
^(it cut off haha) anyway I love how quirky you are and how you just be yourself and have your own style! So yeah I'm so happy I found your channel and I'm very proud to be a Hopeful! Also I'm so excited for On The Otherside! I love you loads Carrie, Massive hugs xxx
I'm DYING to live alone. I've lived alone before and loved it. Now living with other people and I hate it so much. Maybe it's because I'm too selfish... I don't know. J x
1. When and if you move out you'll treasure it more. If you really do HATE sharing space with your peers. 2. And don't feel selfish you're just thinking your feelings. Express your (positive) opinions as openly as you wish. X
I've always been super excited to live alone. Part of that is because I would love to know what it's like not to have to share everything. To have something just be mine, let alone an entire place.... it makes me feel like jumping up and down.
I lived alone for a semester in college, and it was pretty awesome! It was pre-furnished except for the bedroom furniture so I had to deal with vomit-colored sofa set, but it was super fun going to thrift stores to find decorations and what not! The only thing is that if you don't hang out with people outside of your apartment then you go pretty stir crazy! Also the guy that lived next to me had a truck that took at least 4 times to start up at 7:30 in the morning, so that was nice to wake up to!
This may sound strange but I love seeing the evolution of your makeup Carrie! From earlier videos where you hardly wore any, and then how you've applied your eyeliner and how much better it's gotten over time (I'm a makeup artist, so I suppose that's why I'm interested). You look fab, btw x
When I was at uni every day at 6:30-7 in the morning there was a dustbin lorry that had the automated "vehicle reversing" noise on, I sounded like it was reversing for an entire hour :(
This brightened my day as I finally get the first to my first flat tomorrow and I'm definitely scared about living alone, but as you said, I can put my own stamp all over the place and for that I'm so excited!
I'm moving out in September to go to uni and I genuinely can't wait to be independent. I have got to that stage where I'm buying things in preparation for my new apartment, so tea towels, mugs, scouring pads and cutlery are currently taking over my life, but sadly making me very excited. I never knew how fun shopping for teabags and washing powder could be! Xxx
when i first moved out, i lived alone and i think it was really really good for me. granted, i'm a very independent introvert so it was a great experience. after a year, i moved in with my first roommate, and i liked living with her because she understood my need for space. there were a few things that drove me nuts that she did, but i tried my best to be understanding and for the most part we got along great. i moved in again on my own and this year i've been a bit lonely. so in a few days i'm moving in with some new roommates, here's hoping that they're alright to live with!
I lived alone in my own tiny studio from aged 18 till 21 before i became a nanny. It was the best time of my life. Every decision i made was my own and it was nice not having to answer to anyone or have someone tell you, that you couldn't do this or that! I could eat what i want, watch what i wanted, listen to the music i wanted to listen to (time before tiny compact pocket electronics) and i could stay up past 9pm, which was the absolute best. I think everyone should experience living alone, it truly is freedom! which everyone should experience.
I was looking forward to hearing about the mug and tea! Is that going to start in future videos? Also, Tom making smacking sounds with his mouth is way better than hearing people grinding their teeth! That sends shivers down my spine!
i moved to london at the age of 19 and sort of live on my own? i have my own flat but there's a communal kitchen between 8 of us (our little family) and communal living areas downstairs and a big courtyard with picnic benches etc. so it's sorta the perfect compromise of living alone but still being constantly surrounded by people. it's amazing when you move to such a big place all on your own and know literally no one because all of a sudden you have friends almost instantly. but i kinda miss feeling like i have an actual home and i'd love to be able to decorate and do all the cool things you do with flatcher
hello Carrie! I absolutely loved your follow me Friday videos! les mis is my favorite show, and I'm fascinated to see some of what happens behind the scenes from your point of view. if possible, could you make a video of this sort? thank you for making me happy every time you post a new video :)
I went to university for 2 years and chose to live in halls for both of those years. It's not alone in the same sense that you are now Carrie, but it's still alone all the same - especially when my flatmates all went home for the week/weekend and there was just me there. I honestly loved having my own space and being able to decide what I want to do where. You're completely right with the simple things, such as food shopping... I loved doing my own shopping! I'm currently back at my parents and I feel so confined after being in halls. Absolutely cannot wait to get my own place though - a part from the fact that I would be the sole spider killer...
Carrie! You summed Tom up so brilliantly!! And I have lived alone.... Not for long but so much better loving with someone, although living alone means your stuff and place can stay tidy. I live with my fiancé and daughter. And love it I absolutely love your decor!! And your cushions 😀 🌸
I never had a room just for myself! You have no idea how many times I wished to have a room that I could decorate however I wanted! Now I can't imagine how excited I'll be when I'll be living on my own, if that time ever comes.
Lived alone for a year now, and I'm loving it :) I think the best thing is the freedom and independence it gives you, being responsible for yourself and not accountable to anyone.
I'm 19 and still living at home because I go to uni close to where I live but when I move out in the future I think I'd like to move in with one of my best friends. I don't think I would mind living alone that much though but I think at times I would miss having people to come home to! Glad you're settling in well, Carrie and yes you should definitely put the dragons up on the wall like that it would look so cool! Also I love your spotty lamp shades they're sooo cute! 💕
That face though when Carrie says she wanted to paint her room black and you could see the "what the heck was I thinking" look. I had to pause the video to get all my laughter out
I live alone in an apartment that my grandma owns (so all of her stuff is in it) when I'm away for university. I've had four years of this (still living with my dad and brother in the summers) and while there are definitely benefits to living alone, unfortunately I have found that I get really, really lonely. In the past four years, weekends were always my least favourite days of the week because a lot of my friends worked weekends and couldn't hang out with me, so I just sat in this beautiful apartment stuffed full of old lady knick knacks and scrolled through tumblr, or binge-watched TV shows. I don't know if I was depressed, but I always felt gross and lethargic and unmotivated on weekends, and that only got worse after my mom died when I was in 3rd year. However, this fall one of my best friends is moving into that apartment with me, so I know I'll have a better year! I'm really excited about that. After that I'll be graduating and moving back home. When I move out of the apartment my dad and brother live in right now, I am a little worried that I might go back to having weekends of crippling loneliness again, especially because I will be like 2.5 hours away from all of my best friends. It might be a bit better because I'll be able to really make it my own place, put my personality into it, etc. But I am a bit worried. Maybe I'll have to convince one of my friends to become my roommate FOREVER. :P
I really needed this! Thanks a lot Carrie! I already have a room in a house full of students, but I'm really scared to go there. It's not that I don't like them, but I've been through a lot last year, and my sister, mum and I have just started to get our lives back on track. And I feel like I'm the one ruining it. I have made a deal that my sister, and two friends are sleeping with me the first night (which is tomorrow), and I'm a bit worried about the days after...
I can't wait till I live alone! It sounds awesome and scary and a massive adventure! You are such an inspiration to all of the fandom, and we all love you so much
I've never lived alone, but I HAVE lived away from my parents at uni, sharing with other students. And I'm moving to London in October and am reeeallly excited about that!
I LOVE living alone! I had to move for University and rent my own flat, and I felt a bit homesick for the first year or so, but after that I conquered it and I LOVE having my own little place, that I know all it's nooks and crannies and I can spend an evening just with my tea and book! I would definetely recommend it to anyone who's thinking about it!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who checks all the cupboards/under the bed when I get home! I live with 2 other flatmates but if they're not home or we've all been out then I always check behind my curtains, in my wardrobe, and under my bed. p.s. your bunches are always the cutest
But, your hair does look so cute! I have never lived alone before. Though, I spent a year at a boarding school and we didn't have much holidays, so I was quite on my own for a year. I loved taking care of myself and discovering more of my personality. I want to experience living on my own soon-hopefully!
I've been living on my own for about 6 months now, I've never felt more in control of my life. It can get a bit lonely so I've kind of done it up so that it's fun and social for guests. But I like it it's quaint and everything in it is mine :)
My story haha: Ive never fully lived alone, I moved to uni this September for my first year and was living with 4 other girls and tbh it was a dull and depressing time. I didn't go out much, didn't see anyone, I felt like everyone was having an amazing time even the girls in the flat at times just not me, which led to me feeling very lonely and refusing to stay there, costing me a lot in train fare having to travel from home! I am giving it another go somewhere different with different people for my second year and hoping it will have more success for me and my mental health however, this experience took me from being very excited to live semi-alone as in away from my parents with new people, to making me dread it and realise how reliant I am on them at 19, unfortunately, so all fingers crossed 2nd year is better! x
you have one of the disney sketchy mugs too! i have the cheshire cat - the pride of my small mug collection :) i think the dragons on the ceiling look fine - just got to remember its a work in progress so you can keep adding to your fleet of dragons living alone sounds like paradise
I can relate so well to your hair story. Ever since I was around 7 or 8 years old, I've worn my hair in a ponytail on daily basis. Now that I'm 17 I still wear it that way. Most people don't know me other than 'the-girl-with-the-ponytail'. So when I wear it down on really rare and special occasions, everyone is shocked. And for some reason I really love those moments?
I've lived alone just shy of two years and I love it. The only things bothering me about it is that it's very far from my university (an hour or so in public transport) and it gets a bit lonely at times. Also, when I'm out with my friends I'm usually the first to go home because at night it takes two to four hours depending on how the trains and busses fit together. Apart from that, it's lovely to live alone because I get to decide everything after 19 years of not getting to decide that much.
I don't know why, but ever since I was little I've always wanted to live alone...I know, I'm weird. I'm looking forward to Uni this September when I finally get that chance :D Also, I can TOTALLY relate to you being annoyed at the lorry and that guy who revs his engine, because our neighbour's building an extension and I'm woken far too early by the sound of drilling that literally goes on for hours. Plus, the building we live next to is also being demolished at the same time, which is always nice to accompany the drilling...
***** When I lived on campus in Scotland, my accommodation was pretty much just like an apartment. I shared a kitchen but had my own bathroom, own food, cooked for myself, and on some days I would never even see any of my housemates.
I live on my own - sort of. I moved into a student house a little more than half a year ago. It's only half an our away from where I live with my parents but we have a lot jazz sessions in the city where my study is so travelling between those cities cost a lot of time. I slept with a friend once or twice a week so I felt like I needed my own place over there, and now I live with my best friend and two really good friends in one house! Couldn't think of a better situation :)
1. Does anyone else have a little moment every time Carrie says "On My Own"? 2. Carrie, you could probably call the local police on the personal speeding around at night if you think they're driving irresponsibly! 3. In a way I'm afraid I'll never get to live alone! It's something I've always wanted to do, but I'm in a long-term relationship so after uni I guess I might end up moving in with him. Obviously I love that idea more than anything, but at the same time I feel a little sad that I might not ever get to have my own place which is completely me haha. Having said that, I would probably get really scared.
MerryMerryMe i felt a little like this because i lived with my parents until i moved to uni where i lived in student halls for my first year (5 other people lived in my hall) then for my second year (and 3rd this september) i lived in a house with my boyfriend (now fiancé) and 2 housemates and after uni i'll (most certainly) get a house with my fiancé. however we have agreed to have our shared bedroom and then each have our own office rooms to decorate as we like :)
talk to him, see how he feels! I know my boyfriend looooves his personal space so i think we'll live in our own places for a while before we get somewhere together and I'm okay with that, even though I love having him around. You could work something out! x
MerryMerryMe I have one of those I live in an apartment complex and my room is next to/above the parking lot and this jerk revs from the street through the parking lot of my apartment complex to get to another street every day like can't you take the road instead of revving through the parking lot. He crashed into the pillar of the lot one day while he was speeding though and wasn't hurt but his car was dented badly. I felt pleased with the karmic justice, although I realize now I will have to listen to the sounds of construction instead of his revving as they fix the wall.
You are very humorous and entertaining when youre angry Carrie. I love it. And its not the "unusual" hair style that makes you look so nice its the lipstick or whatever its called these days... It really compliments you *_*
I live in an apartment complex in the middle of three different trash bins so twice a week, two separate trash trucks loudly take the trash out of the bins into their trucks at about 6: 30am-7am twice a week and it particularly painful to hear the scratching and dumping of those trucks so often when you're trying to sleep. Keep in mind "quiet time" which is when all the apartments aren't aloud to run loud machinery like dishwasher or laundry is from 8pm to 9am. It's quite painful.
Ahhh, this was just what I needed! I'll be moving out in September, on my own, and I am super super excited! But it's also kinda scary.. I too, are very excited to pick my own food, haha. I see myself baking chocolate cookies at midnight cause who cares?! I can do whatever I want! :) Loved to hear your story Carrie! And I'd like to hear some more tips about living alone sometime. Take care!
I'm moving into uni accommodation soon and literally you moving into your own flat is the only thing keeping me sane because all I keep telling myself is "look see she's doing it and she's not completely dead and failing! You'll be fine!" Haha so thank you Carrie :) x
I have to say that living alone is one of the most awesome experiences ever. I moved out as soon as I graduated high school and moved into the co ed dorms with a roommate, that was a total nightmare. I always thought I too would be scared to live alone and find that I am not. I like darkness so I never turn on my lights in my house even at night. I only have to worry about my mess, my noises and my pet peeves. I started buying my own food, and basic needs at the age of 14 so I was already used to having the brands I wanted. I also like the fact that on some days I don't have to use my voice at all. No one to have to say Good Morning/Good Night to. I work from home as well.
I'm fifteen years old, and I just moved out on my own in may. Up until that point I had shared a room with one of my sisters all my life. We have a small (like 30 m2 +/-) flat under our garage with a kitchen, bedroom and livingroom in one room and a small bathroom in the other. I love living alone and it's great playing my music as loud and possible. The only minus is that I have to walk back and forth between the house and my flat in the rain (I live on the west coast of Norway, it rains A LOT) every morning before school.
i always thought that i'd live alone when i'm moving out of my parents house. you know, living your life, freaking out, going out and coming home very late. now i've found a flat to live in and i also met the boy of my dreams some time ago. and now i'm just so looking forward to live a happy settled life with him and i know it will be the best thing ever :)
Living on my own now for five years and really enjoying my freedom but being honest I must tell that I cried a lot during my first year and wanted back home. Now I am very fine with it but still enjoying to go back home from time to time :)
I can't wait to have my own place! Saving for WDW comes first though... Also my boyfriend does the same thing as Tom when he sleeps! And it's soooo loud, he's actually woken me up doing it! Hope you're having a wonderful day Carrie xx
Hey Carrie! I'll get the keys of my first own flat the day after tomorrow and I'm really excited! I was wondering if you have any tips for low budget decorating? I haven't got to much money to spend, but I really like to make it my own place! Xx Ayla
I live alone and love it! I lived in a sorority house in college, so there were always people around and I would usually hole up in my room for long periods of time. I'm also an introvert, but I selectively like to be around people. The majority of the time I'm just fine by myself, but sometimes I wish I had someone else to share my day with. Also, an alarm system with door chimes is totally worth the peace of mind.
I'll be moving into Uni halls of residence in September and, honestly, I'm so excited! I can't wait to have more responsibility over shopping for food, cooking, getting myself ready for the day, I'm even excited about cleaning!
I've been living in my own apartment while I attend college away from home and I love it! I made the decision not to have a roommate and I'm so glad I did, it's given me the opportunity to figure out who I am without other people around and I've had such a great time doing it. I'll be moving back to my hometown again in less than a year, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to stand living with my parents again, as I'll be moving back in with them until I have enough money to move out permanently.
I love living alone! Moved into my flat 3 days before you moved into yours and so far it's great (aside from many, many stairs!) sadly mine is only rented so I can't make too many changes but still one of the best decisions I've made :)
I live with roommates, but I agree with you Carrie. the most exciting thing for me about moving out was to plan my own meals and being able to choose what I wanted and try new things.
I've actually been trying to move out of my parent's house since I was 6 years old (true story, we lived in a stairwell with an apartment for guests that everyone shared at the top and I didn't understand why I couldn't live there by myself). I did move out during college, but I always had a roommate. My first time living on my own was when I got a job in Europe and moved over here and got a little apartment on a farm. So not only did I have my first job and move to a different continent, but I also lived by myself for the first time! And I LOVE it. I like having my own space and having places to put the things I've collected over the years. I love decorating it for the holidays and having people come stay with me. I love that there's no one standing over me going "Ok, you need to do the dishes RIGHT NOW". I love that if I need some alone time I can go back to my apartment and have the whole thing to myself. I don't like that there's no one to share the responsibilities though. It's rough to be in charge of cooking, doing dishes, cleaning, laundry, bills etc all on my own. Even though it's just for me, having someone else there that would be able to help get some of those things done would be wonderful, even if it meant twice the cooking or dishes.
Hey Carrie. The Austrian singer/songwriter André Heller said in one of his songs: "Die wahren Abenteuer sind in meinem Kopf, und sind se nicht in meinem Kopf, so sind sie nirgendwo." In English: "The real adventures are in your mind - if they are not in your mind, they are nowhere." There is no need for countless flies to countless destinations in the world or to be a number one in any charts
I live alone for 7 years now, going a my parent's house on some week end and holidays. And living alone is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love the freedom it gives me, I love having my own little place. I wouldn't trade this for anything I think.
I moved straight out of my mums into a house with my boyfriend for uni! Now I've got this scary adventure of my final year in a house alone because he's finished uni now and lives somewhere else! Nerve wracking! But thankyou for making me feel that little bit better about it!
(Ive just brought your book today!!!) & i am moving out for university in September so I'll be living alone then! Moving from the West Midlands to Cardiff which is kind of far but oh well! It should be fun to buy all my own things! :D
I'm petrified of the idea of living alone! Most of this is due to me being very anxious, and a lot of my anxiety is focused on being alone - the idea of being isolated. However, I do love the idea of having a place which is bursting at the seams with the house owner's personality!
I live alone now. I moved in to this apartment with my boyfriend two years ago, and four months later he went to the military for a year (in norway it's mandatory for men to be in the military for at least a year.. Is it the same in England?) and when he got back we broke up and he moved out, so I've been living alone here for one year and a few months. And I love it. The freedom is.. amazing! I can do whatever I want, whenever and however I want. The only annoying thing is that my apartment is too big for just one person, so It's a lot to clean..
CrimsonFantasy if you're allowed maybe you should think about getting a pet :) it will have room to roam around your apartment and it will be good company. also no in England it isn't mandatory to spend any time in the military, if you choose to join and of the armed forces here you have to go through a lot of examinations and a lot of people are rejected based on different factors like health, age, fitness, mental health, ect.
That's unusual, I didn't know that about norway. What kind of military service is it? Do they get to choose what to do? Is it like, just community service, or are they sent overseas to fight or something? Sorry for the random questions! it's great that you're in such a happy place :)
kerry lousie crossland Sadly I'm not allowed to have pets. But at the moment I'm fine with that, not having to take responsibility for anyone but myself bring a lot of freedom. And besides, I babysit my friends cat every now and then ^^ susan blue It's basically just training. They're not forced to go overseas, that's a choice you can make if you want to continue after that mandatory year. And they can choose where to go and what to do to a certain degree. Like, they'll say where they want to go, and if they're lucky they get to go there. But that'd depend. And I'm not sure exactly how it works. I was called in too, but I'm female, so I didn't have to go. :p
I'm moving out for university in september and I'm terrified because I don't know how it's gonna go. I have the exciting part which consists on me sharing a flat with two or three friends, the freedom and privacy and decorating the rooms. But I have the terrifying part of learning how to do the laundry and proper cooking, as well as the fact that my parents aren't gonna be with me when I get in trouble. It seems like a challenge I'm definitely taking, I just hope all this uni and adult life stuff isn't as scary as I see it right now.
Recently my parents went on a 3 week holiday and this was the first time I stayed home alone (usually I was with my sister). And I was very surprised to see how much I enjoy living alone. Even thought my parents don't have any strict rules or anything I felt so free living alone. And those were the small things, similar to those you mentioned about the brand of butter and milk. For example, I was able to clean the flat in the middle of the night (instead of Saturday or Sunday morning as we usually do). So now I am looking forward to being able to afford to live on my own so I could have my space to spread my personality :))
***** This video was so good. I loved it. You are on of my favorite youtubers and I always watch your videos right away as soon as I get the notification. I love you Carrie. You are truly great. 💕💜💛😍
I know this video is old but I am just watching it for the first time today and at the end where Carrie says she looks like Cousin Itt I started freaking out because I watched that episode of The Addams Family today. (I'm a touch obsessed with them if you hadn't noticed and I have been for a while) and it was just so weird and amazing I had to share. Carry on.
I'm in between homes at the moment as I'm at University, but oh my god I completely understand what you mean with the shopping! If I want cookie dough spread, I can get cookie dough spread at Uni: at home, not so much cause it's not 'healthy'. I was really shy before but love living at Uni now, although I do miss proper home cooked dinners haha :) xxx
I moved in with my partner right away when I moved for college and was with him for 4 years living together. Now I have been living alone for the first time for about 4 months now. It's rough going from living with someone to not at first just because the bed feels so empty and the place in general. However a pet really helps that ;). There are some things that a like a bit better and that's that it does feel less crowded and it really is all my stuff so I can do whatever I want with it. I keep the fridge pretty empty now and it feels neater. There are a few things, but in general, I'd say I preferred it when I wasn't alone.
I rented my own little studio flat when I was 19 for just under a year. I absolutely loved it but I wasn't earning much money so basically worked to live there, then didn't have money to do much else! I had all these big plans so decided to move home to save, life happened (bad things that stopped me from doing much for a few years) then literally last month I moved into a lovely flat with two of my friends! I like that there's little bits of each of our personalities scattered around, we always seem to congregate in the hall to have a chat just before bed, and have random nights where we watch funny RUclips videos in the living room :D xx
I'm only 19 and have spent my entire life living with my mum, though it's kind of like living alone because on my off uni days she's at work/uni for hours on end, so I've learnt to sort of live independently! She's always home for dinner/night time though, so I live in a situation where I'm half living alone, half living with someone else, which is great! I think though I'd prefer to live with someone always, don't get me wrong, I LOVE being alone, it's when I get all my writing/video making done without interruptions, but I do admittedly get very lonely when left for too long. I had 4 days straight where I was alone day and night and while the novelty was fun, I did get very lonely and craved conversation! So yeah, I think I'd prefer to live with someone, as long as I had a few hours of alone time a day, to get the things I need to do done!
I've never lived alone. I went from living with parents to living with a friend, to back to parents and living with boyf. We have lived together for 3 years and are just about to buy our own house. We move at the end of the month. I do regret not having some time to live just by myself though, it's something that I think about all the time. I would definitely advise everyone to do it before you settle with someone!
Carrie, I moved into an apartment on my own for the first time just a few weeks before you did! It's a very similar size too - one bed, one bath, living room and small kitchen with dining area. There are lots of things I love about it - like picking my own brands as you said - but one big difference is that mine was in a totally new city where I'd never been before. That makes it feel a lot lonelier, especially at first. Which is why in the end, I decided I couldn't live entirely on my own... and got myself a puppy ;) His name is Simba - there's a cute video of him on my channel trying to get into my parent's pool.
I sort of lived alone for about 4 years, and by sort of I mean I lived in a basement suite... of my dad's house. So I had all my own space & studded, I paid rent and came and went as I pleased but my dad and stepmom were right upstairs. On the one hand, they did still assert some control over what I did with my space, and lectured me if it was too messy... which meant I still very much felt like a kid living at home. But I also had my own kitchen , bedroom, living room and bathroom so I got to pick the brands I wanted. There was something wonderful about having that space. I'm someone who likes time away from people and especially if I feel sick or had a rough day, decompressing on my own is the best. But I wouldn't change living with my boyfriend now for anything. He works nights about half the time so I still get some space in the evenings, but the company and affection is so nice and our home is our own, what we made it to be and that is really special.
When you said you were going to show us your ceiling I fangirled I don't think I've ever been so excited by something in my life. I'm 14 so I live with my parents and I hate having only one room. Bc we don't have a spare room and mine is the biggest, I have a lot of their junk that can't fit in other rooms in my room too (which SUCKS). So I'm really excited about moving out. Also, when I move out nobody's going to tell me when to sleep and I can walk around in my underwear etc. xxx
Living on my own at the moment is pretty great! It's not for long, just until my roommates come back from summer break, but I like being able to sing at the top of my lungs whenever I want and I don't have to worry about disturbing anyone! :D
Every time you said "On my own" I couldn't stop thinking about Eponine.
... that awkward moment when Carrie opens a cupboard and actually finds an axe murderer squished in there between all the tea mugs.
I'm not sure I would risk changing to a different butter! :D
I know, Carrie's being VERY brave!
Idk why but that's the first thing I thought of when she mentioned changing brands??😂
Stella Da Silva i think you win the award for longest most lovely comment ever! congrats! :D
Stella Da Silva I feel the same way! She always makes me feel all happy and inspired.
i actually counted the number of times you said "on my own" in this video hahaha omg
Jwxwei How many was it? x
Jwxwei Every time I heard I started singing in my head.
Did I miss something or why does everyone in the comments talk about that "On my own"? :D
Zoe Simpson Because in Les Mis that's Eponine's big solo.
Zoe Simpson She plays Eponine in Les Mis. Who sings On my own
HOLYCRAP THATS MY ROOM!!!! THOSE ARE MY DRAGONS ON MY WALL
What?
OHHHHHHHHHHH o get it now. That's awesome! How do you get time for all those dragons?🐉
I just had a really crappy morning but I can always count on your videos to cheer me up. Thanks Carrie. xxx
Joel & Lia I hate living with people, too
I've always been super excited to live alone. Part of that is because I would love to know what it's like not to have to share everything. To have something just be mine, let alone an entire place.... it makes me feel like jumping up and down.
daffodilZephyr it's pretty awesome
Loving the origami dragons on the ceiling, and the bunchies, and the video! Love you Carrie and your wonderful family xx
Oh my gosh I forgot how much I love you
The most exciting thing about living alone is DECORATING YOUR HOUSE FOR CHRISTMAS!! OH THE FLIPPING JOY!! 🎄🎁❄⛄
Xxx
Love the red lip Carrie!
when i first moved out, i lived alone and i think it was really really good for me. granted, i'm a very independent introvert so it was a great experience. after a year, i moved in with my first roommate, and i liked living with her because she understood my need for space. there were a few things that drove me nuts that she did, but i tried my best to be understanding and for the most part we got along great. i moved in again on my own and this year i've been a bit lonely. so in a few days i'm moving in with some new roommates, here's hoping that they're alright to live with!
And love it
I absolutely love your decor!!
Living alone is the bomb! Well done to you Carrie! xx
That lorry bit made me think of this story i used to listen to when i was about 5 or 6. Your voice reminded me of the narrator.
I love how many times Carrie says "on my own"
I think she says it in every video.
You look fab in this carrie! Xx
I've been living on my own for about 6 months now, I've never felt more in control of my life. It can get a bit lonely so I've kind of done it up so that it's fun and social for guests. But I like it it's quaint and everything in it is mine :)
I feel a little dumb asking this but what is a laury (sp?)?
l newlin A lorry! It's a type of vehicle! Like a long truck! :) xxx
l newlin I think it's what North Americans would call a transport truck.
l newlin it's a big truck like an 18 wheeler or something
***** Hahaha. I figured that was sort of what it was but I wasn't sure! Thanks for clarifying! :D
It's what I would call a semi truck.
I am giving it another go somewhere different with different people for my second year and hoping it will have more success for me and my mental health however, this experience took me from being very excited to live semi-alone as in away from my parents with new people, to making me dread it and realise how reliant I am on them at 19, unfortunately, so all fingers crossed 2nd year is better! x
you have one of the disney sketchy mugs too! i have the cheshire cat - the pride of my small mug collection :)
i think the dragons on the ceiling look fine - just got to remember its a work in progress so you can keep adding to your fleet of dragons
living alone sounds like paradise
I can relate so well to your hair story. Ever since I was around 7 or 8 years old, I've worn my hair in a ponytail on daily basis. Now that I'm 17 I still wear it that way. Most people don't know me other than 'the-girl-with-the-ponytail'. So when I wear it down on really rare and special occasions, everyone is shocked. And for some reason I really love those moments?
I think you have the best accent I'ever heard:) I could listen to you talking all day:)
From a very very jealous Italian girl xD
I've lived alone just shy of two years and I love it. The only things bothering me about it is that it's very far from my university (an hour or so in public transport) and it gets a bit lonely at times. Also, when I'm out with my friends I'm usually the first to go home because at night it takes two to four hours depending on how the trains and busses fit together. Apart from that, it's lovely to live alone because I get to decide everything after 19 years of not getting to decide that much.
I don't know why, but ever since I was little I've always wanted to live alone...I know, I'm weird. I'm looking forward to Uni this September when I finally get that chance :D
Also, I can TOTALLY relate to you being annoyed at the lorry and that guy who revs his engine, because our neighbour's building an extension and I'm woken far too early by the sound of drilling that literally goes on for hours.
I've had the flat to myself for a glorious week and a half, it's been fun.
Fantastic eyeliner work btw.
You never know what the future holds. Do not rule out possibilities yet. ALWAYS hope for the future xx
MerryMerryMe 1. Yes. Every time.
I just love your the way you talk and your speaking voice soo much!!! I want to listen to you talk all day (I'm sorry that sounds extremely creepy)
Take care!
I appreciate the photo choices for the end screen
I've been living with my best friend in a small flat for 4 years now and it's awesome ! Roomates are the best !!
Hey Carrie!
I'll get the keys of my first own flat the day after tomorrow and I'm really excited! I was wondering if you have any tips for low budget decorating? I haven't got to much money to spend, but I really like to make it my own place!
Xx
Ayla
Hey Carrie.
The Austrian singer/songwriter André Heller said in one of his songs:
"Die wahren Abenteuer sind in meinem Kopf, und sind se nicht in meinem Kopf, so sind sie nirgendwo."
In English:
"The real adventures are in your mind -
if they are not in your mind, they are nowhere."
There is no need for countless flies to countless destinations in the world or to be a number one in any charts
Your such an inspiration - saw you in Le Mis and you were amazing
(Ive just brought your book today!!!) & i am moving out for university in September so I'll be living alone then! Moving from the West Midlands to Cardiff which is kind of far but oh well! It should be fun to buy all my own things! :D
I wish I looked that good with bunches! Loved this video, as always 😊
Finally get to see the ceiling! Woo
Sorry for the random questions! it's great that you're in such a happy place :)
susan blue I know they have mandatory service in Israel, but I didn't think Norway had it, too!
kerry lousie crossland Sadly I'm not allowed to have pets. But at the moment I'm fine with that, not having to take responsibility for anyone but myself bring a lot of freedom. And besides, I babysit my friends cat every now and then ^^
susan blue It's basically just training.
I'm so excited to get my own place! I'm excited to be able to decorate it however I want and have more than one room!
Carrie! You are amazing!♡
Carry on.
Picking the butter is honestly a highlight of living alone! xxx
i can't get over the lorry impression i keep thinking of it randomly and smiling :D
Love your eyeliner Carrie! Kisses from Australia xxxxx
Well, that was incredibly adorable. I love these videos! Make my bad days so much better. :)
Living alone right now, and I am loving it!
Also, when I move out nobody's going to tell me when to sleep and I can walk around in my underwear etc.
xxx
Love love love the cushions! Where are they from please Carrie? :)
Living on my own at the moment is pretty great! It's not for long, just until my roommates come back from summer break, but I like being able to sing at the top of my lungs whenever I want and I don't have to worry about disturbing anyone! :D
