@@thomasdeen2099 you read the getter robo devolution manga? You're not far off with that idea when it comes to the plot of that story. Then again I think it is established for the entire franchise that Getter Rays are a sentient thing.
The G-Self is one of the Few Gundam units in the whole franchise that actually has cameras similar to Human Eyes. (I.E, it’s only one camera behind the glass.)

It's adorable and it's a shame we haven't gotten a MG yet. Though, I do love how the eyes can convey both a cuteness and a kind, gentle appearance. But in some scenes, it can be rather unnerving and uncomfortable. Akin to Shin Getter from the manga, where you can feel it staring at you the viewer. On another side note. Love, how it can seemingly reflect sadness. As it hides behind cover, you can see it "tearing up" similar to the pilot. Even though it's mostly rubble moving by and reflecting of the eyes.
It's appropriate. In Japan you say the family role to each other, so calling out to your wife as the "mother" is appropriate while weird in translation.
meanwhile in Gundam Build Divers and Gundam Breaker Mobile, two characters customize their respective HG G-Self kits, particularly the face to look mean and demonic because they hated the stock "cute" face, lol.
Do, you're in a Gundam show, a franchise notorious for having no main character shields, to the point where one of the series ends with every named character dead or in a coma(though some get better...the dead ones, the one in the coma never does). Be afraid at all times.
