That's nice to hear. Pluto aired my birthday episode for the first time a few months ago, and it was quite surreal witnessing what actually aired on my birthday. The most memorable moment was a woman named Suzanne bidding $9,000 on a motorscooter, years before the surfboards.
Hopefully Bob Barker will make it to 100. He turns 99 later this year. He is still sharp mentally, verbally and emotionally. He uses a electric wheelchair to get around as he broke his hip while doing a brisk walk in his neighborhood.
I liked the "wheel" method that GSN did back in the day, and it helped me understand the concept of inflation. Watching a 1975 episode one day, followed by one from 1979 the next, 1982 on Wednesday, 1986 on Thursday, and 1992 on Friday (along with current episodes at the time, the late '90s) showed how the various prices of items would increase over the years. Of course there was Now or Then, but I never understood why a price would be "now" or "then", thinking how some things may have actually cost more in the past instead of almost always increasing. Having just a short period from 1982-early 1985 doesn't quite capture the era as much, but that's what collections and uploads are for.
Definitely around October 1997 on the GSN recording I think - just after the Dark Period kicked in and that they were still showing the month and year in which the show was taped at the time. By December, they no longer showed the tape date of the show itself and GSN's logo would appear for 15 seconds then disappear before reappearing when going to commercial. Also, Roger is on camera for this episode and he'd be on camera with historical moments when asked.
Brought back in April 1998 for only the B&W shows. When Win TV launched it would display the exact taping days for Price in the trivia section after Bob’s entrance
very nice fun show episode...classic...Sharon..wasted....toooo many chances on guessing 2 nd prize...washer and dryer...unable to get chances for car...😲🤣😭❤️❤️❤️🐐🌠🌞🌈💎
She was over on her showcase by $302!!! If she had bid $15,108-15,207, she would have been a double showcase winner and she would have won her showcase and not gone over!
@@erikbunty2016 Hopefully sometime later this year or next, The Barker Era should get to the Rod Roddy era, probably when the next batch starts. However, they are skipping Johnny Olson’s last episode (11/21/1985), Rod Roddy’s debut as a tryout announcer (12/9/1985) and Bob Eubanks promoting the revival of Card Sharks (1/10/1986) because of a certain game being played on those three episodes.
@@angrybirdsfan2003 On the Bob Eubanks Card Sharks plug episode, Rich Jeffries was the announcer. Also, during Season 14, Gene Wood and Bob Hilton auditioned as announcers.
Believe it or not… this episode aired the day I was born!

No I don’t think so because he’s way too pale and fragile because of the way he was on his wheelchair!
Sadly Bob passed away on August 26th 2023. He almost made it to 100.
@@HighVoltageRockNRoll He was the closest to a dollar without going over.

16:48 and 40:59 - It became increasingly rare that these tunes were played as long as they were.
NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXT!
No one cares, you just want the show to be cancelled if everything was won.
I wish Buzzr would run these!

cbs day
3 days before I was born
1st-Stanley (Any Number) (L)
2nd-Cindy (Range Game) (W)
3rd-Eula (Hi-Lo) (W)
4th-Barbara (Most Expensive) (W)
5th-Sharon (Ten Chances) (L)
6th-Donald (Secret X) (L)
You just need to remember that once the Range Finder has been stopped, it can’t be started again for 37 Hours.
@@markheying2830 Another thing I noticed with the Range Game, more often than not, the actual price is around the middle of the green strip.
I wonder why no one gets the zero rule in ten chances?

Much like the Cliff at the top of the Mountain in Cliff Hangers.
That's the less than $100 rule from 1974-98, she would bid between $15,149-$15,247. $250 or less was 1998.
military was funny after vietnam ended

Or TPIR, the Barker Era.
I'd also like to see some reruns with Rod Roddy as announcer.
