  • The nonprofit Champions for HD surprised Hopkins High School student Ashley Beard with a free wheelchair on Monday after insurance wouldn’t cover the cost of a new one. Beard has juvenile Huntington’s Disease, a disorder that causes parts of the brain to stop working, impacting movement and thinking ability.

    This is a "nice story" - but it just shows the total and utter failure of our healthcare system. It's an abomination that insurance denied this!
