Driver Makes Fatal Mistake of Fleeing from GSP | Pursuit in Heavy Atlanta Traffic

- On the above stated date and time I, TFC Dawson 584, was patrolling in a marked patrol vehicle
traveling northbound on I-75 near interstate I-285. I observed a silver Ford Focus conduct several lane
changes without signaling and following too closely. I caught up to the vehicle and paced its speed at
88 mph in a 55 mph zone. I also noticed the vehicle had a tinted tag cover, which made it difficult to
read. The driver conducted a right lane change in front of my vehicle without signaling. The driver then
conducted several more lane changes as he failed to maintain his lane.
I attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle as we approached I-285. The driver began to flee
as he conducted two lane changes to the left without signaling. The driver failed to maintain his lane
and conducted two lane changes to the right without signaling and nearly struck a vehicle. The driver
then conducted three lane changes to the left without signaling, fail to maintain lane, and traveled in the
H.O.V lane without a passenger. The driver then conducted two lane changes to the right without
signaling and reached speeds over 100 MPH in a desperate attempt to flee. The driver continued to
drive extremely reckless as we approached Cleveland Avenue, on I-75 north. The driver exited to
Georgia 166 and attempted an improper lane change at a high rate of speed, causing him to lose
control of his vehicle. The driver struck an embankment and overturned his vehicle.
I approached the vehicle with my patrol car and ordered the driver out of the vehicle with my duty
weapon displayed, but he did not respond. I waited to approach the vehicle when responding units
arrived and discovered that the driver was deceased due to fatal injuries referencing the crash.
The vehicle was removed by South Metro Towing.
The officer's sigh of resignation when he realized that the chase was escalating was so relatable

Many of these are just minor traffic violations that would be done and over with if only they had obeyed the law, pulled over and took the ticket. Except the standing around watching him die.
@@intheshell35ifyThat was the best part . They should have waited longer. Just think during that time 2000 babies were born.

@@intheshell35ifywrong, especially for watching that POS die! Why call for ambulance or get your hands dirty with the scum of the earth? Thanks again Officer.
@@intheshell35ifyMost thugs who drive like that have a gun in the car. But I'm sure you're macho enough to approach the vehicle.
This trooper was cool, calm and totally professional from the beginning. GSP are exceptionally well trained in driving.
But not as good as the ASP (Arkansas state police)😂
When they don't cheat the GSP exam 🤭🤭
Too bad the citizens aren’t…I always felt like it would have been wise wearing a helmet when I drove near Atlanta…. And you get confirmations often when you drive up on accident cleanups.
You can tell that police officer was well trained and seen crazy before. Just another day in the hood.
Thoughts and prayers… for anyone who was late to work that day.
Astounding, and outstanding! That criminal created a problem, that solved itself well this time. Miraculously, no LEO's or law abiding citizens were harmed, great outcome!
@Internutt2023, I'm not saying he doesn't have a criminal past but there is no information on anything about "Montay Stegall" the driver, as far as any criminal history in any articles. All we know is that he made a bad decision to "run" like a lot of people have when they only had minor infractions such as "driving with a suspended license" etc. Apparently his father died in 2016 and he has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Unbelievable he lost his own life a year ago over this "high-speed chase" which was starting out as a "traffic citation" turned funeral....
Somebody died and you cheer the outcome?!? Can't even fake respect for human life?
Can’t fake respect for human trash.
@@intheshell35ify no. no tears for criminals who endanger others so recklessly.
@@intheshell35ify That was his Choice.
Self pits - CLASSIC. Saves the taxpayers repairing the GSP's car. Outstanding!
Can't believe drivers were allowed to pass like that.
The wreckage, you mean? They had to keep enough road clear for backup officers and EMS to make it to the rolled car. Sometimes there are no good solutions, just the least harmful one.
@@GrainneDhub-ll6vw The problem is they didn’t have a visual of the suspect. Officers were unsure if they were still alive in there.. even the number of occupants in the vehicle was uncertain. They say at the very end “make sure it’s just one in there”. They let civilians pass.. without knowing anything. The suspect could’ve been alive. Could've tried to carjack someone. Could’ve had a gun.. Part of their job is preparing for things like that.. they can redirect traffic another way.
@@GrainneDhub-ll6vwthat’s what the emergency lane is for
That’s what I was thinking. Could have a gun in there.
Justice was served!
its so funny that people worship the police state this much lmao. praising death of those who flee for most likely financial reasons.
@@Uh_0h. I don't wish this on anyone, but if someone has no regard for the innocent publics safety, why should someone care for theirs? Fuck 'em.
@@davesnothere. A cleanup tip for the road crew: Dawn dish detergent helps remove grease and blood stains.

Like revenge... cold.
4:08 and the judges score: 9 for complexity, 6 for the landing, average 7.5
I gave him a 8.5 for a full rotation with a double twist, but I deducted 1.5 points for not keeping his front tyres perfectly aligned.
We can, then, agree to disagree@@Wheeler63
@@oneanddone7992 I think we agree on his execution of the jump. You just had a slightly higher degree of difficulty than I did.

Awesome job scoring gents.

Ticket?- "NOPE"
Little jail time?- "NOPE"
Early death?- "YEAH"
This Trooper is what i call a real professional....his whole overall experience with this incident was amazing from the beginning to the end, hats off to him.....💪
"Get out of the car with your hands up" Nah! Not after that hit! Straight to judgement for him.
The brutal reality of what happened? Dude flew out of the car and was pinned underneath and crushed. When officers started there felony stop, at 10:01 you can hear the officer say "uh thats blood bro" and then very closely sound turned all the way up the officer on the left duck down and say "i don't see anything". There was no saving this dude.
I hope he brought sunscreen with him for the afterlife, SPF: 5,000,000,000,000,000,000
I love it when a problem solves itself.
You like to see humans die...
You're not a whole lot different than that driver.. not a lot of concern for the dead... and possibly. It seems not s TV, you and the perps
.
we all do :)
It was Ford's fault. It didn't stay focused.
That officer is so professional.
And another one found out.
No innocent people hurt. Final result approved.
It wouldn't have happened if that Ford stayed Focused.
the family sued ford because the car hit the wall and did't fly...
Man I wish we had cops that calm and collected here..
No life was lost
These are State Police(obviously) They are the best of the best in Georgia. They're firm, but fair. I'm from Georgia. I thought all State Police are like ours, until I moved away. We also have some small town, good ol' boy cops also. They can be a pain in the ass.

Yes hundreds and hundreds inconvenienced due to this Jake leg. Highly inconsiderate of this brah.
Your not original …. It’s quite cringe

Have you never been here? This is every day for us. Don't even need a wreck, its just some horrid curse that causes traffic to grind a halt for no reason at all every single day, even weekends.
