Even after all these years, the Nemesis-System in this game is one of best gameplay mechanics ever (imo)

I love how you can literally turn a slave into a legend and shaming people till they break.
Killing an enemy and having them repeatedly return stronger and more deformed every time is such a unique and fun gameplay experience. Especially when they now have an immunity to how you killed them last time
the pain of trying to dominate in the middle of a battle is immense
one millisecond away from dominate and an arrow always flies in your direction

Funny thing is, the more weaknesses to Talion an orc has, the less weaknesses he has to other orcs. I've seen some of the most pathetic orcs, or so I thought, turn into unstoppable juggernauts when fighting other orcs. Soft-headed, or able to be instantly killed by a stealth attack? Orc archers don't go for headshots, and it's practically impossible for them to stealth kill each other. Fantastic traits to pick, and far better than fear of fire or caragors.
@@NoahLoydOG Fun fact, the vulnerable to stealth comes up in exactly 2 situations.
Ambushes caused by summoning a bodyguard will leave them dead instead of just bleeding out.
And during the endgame where you are defending forts, a betrayal will leave them near dead instead of at 3/4 health.
So a perfectly acceptable weakness all things considered
He will serve as a good overlord, while trying to invent the worlds best wat helmet. He stays loyal to kevduit until the death.. unless hey betreys kevduit, we won't know until episode 3

Shadow of War is my favorite Orc Killing/Manipulator seriously I have the button combos memorized.
But have you replayed several times and have hundreds of legendary captains sitting in your garrison, with multiples of them all?

@@rodrigosuperchoque74 your gear can't be saved, however, any online chests you haven't opened, as well as any captains you put into your garrison, can be accessed in a new game. There's even a weird glitch that let's you put enemy captains in your garrison, which is kind of hilarious.
Anyways, You don't have to, but you can keep all your captains, not just your favorite ones, if you do restart. Again, just make sure you put them in your Garrison with the training orders

One time I was attacking an Uruk that had a Blood Brother if that wasn't enough, I shamed him into a point of going crazy in front of the Blood Brother that came in to save him, only to witness him going into madness, I branded the Blood Brother that came to save his now psychotic brother, then forced him to kill his bonkers brother, he took exception to my "leadership", turned on me, made him fall into madness after shaming him after betraying me and then re-branded him as a deranged mess. Not only does he live with his newly acquired madness, the fact he killed his Blood Brother, the coup de gras is now he is under my thumb again as a member of the league of misunderstood maniacs.
This is what I mean by saying that Shadow of War is meant for sadists……

My favorite orc was this one who was at first some rando before i could dominate who gets the drop on me in the middle of a fight, becomes captain. I killed this dude at least 5 times and he just kept coming back stronger and stronger.
Guy was a damn cyborg, and i even had to shame him when domination came by and he probably killed me just as many times as i killed him. couldnt ask for a better overlord.

That's what I did when I saw this.
I got satisfied when the orc that slapped me more then 10 times in a row got slapped by 3 of his own teammates that betrayed him and me and my own bodyguard. It was a 5v1 and he killed two of my guys and I had to revivey guys so many times. But satisfied when he died. Now I'm just waiting for him to come back from the dead like some shitty anime

As a hardened player of this game I can say that counter is not as simple as it looked.
The game does slow the "y" attacks down but when you throw an attack right before it comes,
It does become harder to counter the y attacks.
Just proof for me he's playing one the hardest difficulty because you can't counter that unless you expect it. And kev was waiting for it. He's aware of his surroundings is that of a true alpha male

This game got so much heat when it first released, but its such a great game now after all of the updates. Shadow of Mordor series is arguably underrated. Even if you are a J.R. Tolkien purist, the liberties it takes aren’t that big of a deal.
Such a solid game.
Im not a Tolkien purist by any means, but the Shelob and a ringwraith liberties are worse than trench warfare.
I replayed it last week and it's so fucking good. Got addicted to the game all over again. Especially now that I get to see the true ending without having to play 20 hours of siege missions and leveling orcs. The loot box system wasn't even a bad idea tbh but it was executed so poorly.
As a Tolkien Lore-Nut myself, I must admit some of the “Liberties” were a bit… Much, but Sweet Eru, both these games are my childhood! I can’t tell you the amount of days I spent in Shadow of Mordor, and Shadow of War!
Not sure when it got "so much heat," it was loved by everyone including critics.
@@kidfrankie54 I think the major controversy around its release were the microtransactions for loot boxes to get better gear and captains. However, they've since done away with that since the game has been out for several years now and did some rebalancing for grinding.
This a game where you can kill, manipulate, conquer, humiliate and it is perfect.
That's what I thought. Until I develop attachment to my orcs. The hardest part is watching them die😥

A yes I remember my "greatest" enemy during the penultimate siege mission, that one orc with all of the weaknesses that I killed repeatedly. Like I killed this guy in the doable digits and he just kept coming back still as weak as the last time. Then after I never see him again he shows up leading the siege defense.
I had a teammate orc that died when wall broke. He shows up later broken af and literally not able to get back
This game is so good, especially when you're fully upgraded raising zombie and ghost armies from the dead, you can even bring back your commanders and they become zombies.
The only thing that sucks about it there level decrease weak to fire especially bad if they had a fire weapon and there personality died it's cool don't get me wrong but kinda suck when I do it

@@coppercatt8898 their level doesn't decrease its just it can't get higher. You can change from fire to poison or curse. Yup, this sucks.
@@prophet7216 I haven't played shadow of war in a while so I'm guessing they change it so it doesn't decrease the level anymore or it was never like that I didn't know about switching the weapon effects could have saved a lot undead orcs but oh well.
@@coppercatt8898 the level decrease thing was a pain in the ass but yea they took that away they just remain at the level they died at so if they die at lvl 80 they come back at lvl 80

Every time I went after a general, I got all the chiefs under him under my command
It was a slow and tedious process, as I like to know my enemies' weaknesses before going after them...but by god was it worth it
Honestly same, only a single Warchief managed to kill me after I invaded his castle, so on the second run I had like five or six of my Captains infiltrate him as body guards, the betrayal cutscene took forever lol. I also always eliminated all of the warchiefs when possible before attacking a city

This game is sooo good, once youre having a real build it gets even better, I still play it every now and then
I love this game so much; my favorite moments had to have been battles that escalated way beyond any reasonable margin with like 7 captains appearing, armies of Orcs, and some random animals for good measure.
I feel you dude the game is just amazing
Except for the DLC... But yeah the base game is amazing it's just the ending of the base game also kinda fell a little flat

@@cdog3625 I would too but I'd also tell people to not bother with the DLC unless they want to experience a borefest of more grinding and doing more of the same stuff you do in the base games story and then at the end Talion becomes evil...
As for the base game I'd probably tell people that it is an amazing game and there's so much you can do in it but at the same time you can't get every skill before the end of the game and there's no new game plus so you have to be careful on what skills you choose to acquire on top of that I'd also probably tell people to not expect anything too flashy or to not expect an over the top explosive boss battle for an ending
Nah I recommend trying the dlc. If anyone have a plan to buy this game buy the definitive edition at sale
@@commissargab6181 Each to their own I guess but the DLC for me was more boring than the base game which was absolutely amazing but the DLC just completely fell flat for me and I did play through the whole thing only to see how the true ending plays out and I just can't agree with an "evil Talion"
Kevduit i have a tip if you are planning to play the game again. Put death threat against captains then kill them you gain alot exp by doing that also if you want group of grunts following you I recommend recruiting a “commander” captain they spawn alot of grunts theyre very helpful if your surrounded and need allied grunts and a captain on your side. The easiest way to dominate a captain is using combat drain or shadow dominate/drain forgot what it is called but whatever dont know if you find this helpful just putting it here

Mordor is a wonderland of violence, insanity, and petty revenge. Just wish the story didn't hold so many of your fun abilities hostage.
I'm at the post-Shadow Wars phase of the game, so I've just been killing random captains, sending my remaining orcs into pit fights until they die, cleaning up all those pesky slaughter/outlaw tribe encounters, anything to reach max level, grind some vengeance quests/online forts, and when I carry all those chests in my garrison to New Game+, do it all again with hopefully lvl 80 gear right from the start.
If you want high level gear in ng+ you need to save some chests, only chest and orcs in garrison are going with you
Sounds boring,not fun.
If u open level 80 chests in a new game, it wont drop level 80 gear, just drops gear about 8 to 10 levels above your own
The pain trying to dominate is real, but it also brings out such random moments, like me trying to dominate a broken captain, who saw his teammate get stealth brutalized (when you execute enemies like psycho) only to see him run through the fire, and me accidentally pressing *F* while chasing him. Dude, that death was like something out of a horror movie. See your friend get brutally stabbed to death, run away in fear, step into fire, try putting the fire out, get stabbed to death.

I realised I have more than 500 hours in this game on my xbox. Then I also realized I have finished the game 10 times killed 55,000 orcs. Damn, I don't think I have played enough of it yet.

This game was made so realistically because if the orc that you tried to kill before ran away, they remember you, so they kind of have PTSD and they just start running away again and they’re scared

Shadow of war's nemesis and base seige mechanics were truly wonderful features that added a lot of replayability to the game.
Shame other games didn't really utilize similar features.
If you haven't played this game yet, it is legitimately awesome. I held off because on release I think the reviews were kinda mediocre. But it is genuinely so chaotic and fun. Good loot system, snappy addictive combat, and the nemesis system is so good for creating narratives. It's a banger of a game.

So Kevduit has finally found the game that allows him to channel his inner Dominatrix.
Recently started playing this one after finally completing the first game, and this is a complete blast. The combat system is great and the nemesis system adds real stakes to your defeats.
This game was amazing. I just wish they did more with it like co op or other factions in dlc or something.

I love both shadow of war and shadow of Mordor, though the ending of shadow of war sucks, with you having to buy the dlc to get the true ending, and the repetition of having to defend your settlements 12 time in a row.

@@kryppo4245 no the ring gets taken by the woman (I can't remember her name) and you have to buy the dlc were she's the main character to get the actual ending.
Theyve changed the shadow wars so its much fewer defences even tho it wasnt that bad anyway

My favorite catch was a Legendary captain that was encased in spider webs and he rode a white caragor. In addition to that, he could use spiders to attack people.

This game is massively underrated. It’s a fantastic game. Honestly it’s probably time to return to it.
I remember in Shadow of Mordor, there was an Ork named Giggles... me and my buddy both saw him and realized his greatness. We decided to power him up and put him in command of the area. We played very carefully (took turns on death), and got him up to lvl 17 and then he got killed on an ill timed death. We were both incredibly despondent over the death of Giggles. We mourn his death to this day.
Bro this game is lit and I’m glad people are still paying attention to it. I got like around 500 hours on this game and I can still find new things to do.
I’m re downloading and re playing this. I miss this game and nemesis system. I’ll never forget my ULTIMATE rival. At some point I gave up on recruiting him. He was too powerful and survived 4 kill attempts I did and killed me multiple times. One day I got sick of him so I purposely cut off his head…. He STILL CAME BACK! But it was lit. We was always back and forth.
We need more of the shadow of war series ! I’m loving this !!!

Tip for making sieging forts easier: kill the warchiefs disables the fort's defences, like the flaming walls etc.
Tuhorn the Rogue looks like a cartoon character that fell asleep at a frat party.
Not sure if you know or not but if you put a white gem in the ring slot it levels up the orks you dominate. Hope this helps

Discovered this game two weeks ago and can't believe how well it stands up to more recent games I am loving it so far
I only recently got this game and accidentally made an orc go insane before the actual quest. Once I realized you could do that, I became a monster. Right now I’m grinding XP so Talion can become the most overpowered monster within the confines of Mordor. Sauron and the other Nazgûl have nothing on me.
Fun fact, when you do your first siege of nurn, ranger (ratbag's olog friend) helps you defend
