had an orc that came back over 15 times, all his limbs where metal but his head and when i finally cut his head off he got turned into a zombie, god i love this game
I had an Orc who could be instantly killed by stealth attacks. Every single time I assassinated him he came back. The hard part was the fact he was ONLY weak to stealth attacks and had too many advantages to take him head-on when I did try to do so. And for whatever reason he kept returning to one specific part of the map (I forgot which area) so every time I would run by that place I would see him again. It took half an hour or so of regular combat to execute him without stealth killing him for him to stay dead permanently
@@The_Turkey_Master If an orc has a mortal vulnerability to stealth they can be dominated from stealth assuming no iron will, an orc that powerful should've been an immediate recruit, the fact he had to kill him dictates iron will I ought to know that fucking much I played 180 fucking hours

The game was always good sure WB were greedy but that does not change that the game always were a masterpiece none of the game would change if you did not purchase anything and doing so essentially did nothing i speak from experience cause i was one of the idiot children that bought stuff when the game had micro transactions. Knowing the fact today i have replayed the game on a new file and nothing has changed just a bit of grinding which was fine honestly.
He wasn't missing a QTE, Zog is a Trickster, so he gets the Tricky Escape ability, which allows him to get back up the first time you bring him to that QTE execution state

Oh yeah that last zog fight is so tricky. It is cool that his undead captains are prominent orcs you've killed before though. Bruz was there for me once though! That was cool
I beat this game 6 times and it never gets old this was one of the best games I’ve ever played and especially being a lord of the rings fan it did it justice so many unique things that games today simply do not have
It's not over there's a true ending after you play through shadow war. I think it's Shadow wars 10. it's pretty worth it if you're invested into the game and Talion lore haha
@@DarkVadorRulez It made complete sense to have it lore-wise, you're meant to really feel that eternal war Talion is locked in, and it wasn't like you would miss out on much by not getting that final cutscene. The game is finished by the time you get to the shadow wars, it's not like a key bit of story was locked behind the epilogue.
I find myself going through and beating this multiple times every year. The combat, brutality, and story are all great. Even if it’s not at all canonical and kinda disrespects tolkiens work, I can look passed a lot of that, because of how good it is in a lot of parts.
I don't think it disrespects his work, it's certainly not canonical and definitely has a different take on many different ideas, but I still think it respects it, especially when you look at Rings of Power and Gollum.

@@rodrigobogado8756 Partially that but the 10 stages was just too much it was so damn repetitive , in my original playthrough I only bought one orc box which was to beat the final arena round in Minas Morgul to get the revive dead captains skill as I didn't have an orc high enough level but I used gold that I earned doing the online revenge missions but those still shouldn't have been in a single player game

If you really love the lord of the rings games, you should try out the Hobbit 2003 game. it’s got a decent mix of action and puzzles. On top of that, the voice acting is surprisingly great. Each level(chapter) feels very unique and entertaining. Plus Sting looks soooo cool in the game.
I remember the movie PS2 games very fondly. Also Conquest was pretty awesome. So many good LTR titles in the past makes me sad that there hasn't been another new game :( (Excluding gollum)

Now we get to watch you play through hours of grinding out the shadow wars part, right? The part near the end where Talion gets his new ring was always so cool to me. The fact that it wasn't just a cosmetic change but actually changed some of your abilities was awesome and felt thematically appropriate.
I once had an orc who was my bodyguard, he died, cheated death to save me from another Captain, died again, cheated death again, all in the space of 20 minutes. He was made Overlord shortly after.
Can we finally admit that, in hindsight, all that backlash from tolkien fanboys clamoring how this game "made Tolkien spin in his grave" was exaggerated? good gods, those guys were so annoying, SOW is a great game and the changes it made to the lore, even if not canon and was in fact an alternate universe, were great.
Unfortunately, we wont be getting another one, the franchise has been closed off.. but Monolith is working on a Wonder Woman Gane that will feature the nemesis system. They said it will be more advanced than Shadow of war so cant wait to see that.... I do wish they had made a trilogy for middle earth🥺, i love the game's vibes.

had they juuuuuust made it optional to have every single orc, shut up, do a monologue. just let battle flow and not stop me, face me the wrong direction and let me be unalived by that orc, shut up again, i was trying to dodge. then i would've played shadow of war more. heh. that rhymed.
10/10 game for sure, if you never played it you’re lucky to experience it for the first time, just make sure it’s either on pc or a nice 4K tv game looks beautiful

My favorite lord of the rings game was war in the north or war of the north I replayed it multiple times and loved the finishing move that sounded like a slurping noise
I still find myself coming back to Shadow of War. I didn't care about the microtransactions when the game came out. They didn't take away from the game. It just made the game trivial - which any normal gamer could easily overcome by putting in like 30 extra minutes. Within an hour of entering a zone, you could get a captain or whatever just as good, if not better than one you would get from the loot boxes. On top of that, you could get training orders... with in-game currency that you could earn... The outrage for something like that, but then those same people will buy dumb crap like FIFA, or Crusader Kings with the most milquetoast "DLC"- that costs as much as a brand new game... to this day annoys the piss out of me. People were so outraged by this, but those same people were jerking it literally and metaphorically to shit like Diablo 3.
