    Great review. I bought one of these before I came across your review. I added the clips to the fly sheet before first use. Worked a treat. Cheers !

      Thanks, yeah I'm wrapped with this purchase, bang for buck it's great value. I would suggest these tarp clips instead of the ones I pictured as they work much better and stronger.... share.temu.com/cemGbIZMUmA

    Great review. As with my Naturehike tents, you can set up the outer fly first in rain. Then the inner can be added afterwards. A bit fiddly but at least inside the tent stays dry. 😊

      Thanks Grant.... Never thought about your outer fly first during rain idea... I've got give that a try to to test it out👍

    I've got a Cloud Up 2 i use for remote walk in stuff, only thing i don't like the front entrance on it. I'm looking at getting a sleeping bag from them as well at some stage.

    • @oscartravis5740
      @oscartravis5740 Год назад

      Same here, I had one but the entrance had no cover for cooking and it's a struggle in and out for a slash in the night. I got rid and bought a Star River 2 instead, bags of head room and a door on both sides, I could swing a cat in there 😄

    Good bit of kit!! They're not bad the old Naturehike tents. I almost bought one but i went with the Illumina x instead cos it was supposed to be a bit lighter or something. Can't remember the reason LoL.

      The Illumina X is a great tent too. More pricey though, but for a rich man like you.... it's like spare change😉

    Nice review M8. I have the Naturehike LW180 sleeping bag, packs down to nothing. good value budget bag. I'v got the Oztrail Nomad 1 which I cant really comment on because I havn't yet used it yet other than set it up in the yard. Seems decent enough for a cheapy, no included footprint though, and it weighs 1.78kg, still pretty dam light. The Nomad 1 is currently on clearence at Tent World for 50 bucks, not bad. think I paid about 100!

      That Naturehike LW180 sleeping bag... I've looked at that. Is it too lightweight for our winter months? I've got a decent SB for winter but it weighs 1.6kgs.... always looking for something lighter but warm.

    • @paulh4691
      @paulh4691 Год назад +1

      @@jelbuilderfilms Yeah mate, thats what I was really talking about when i mentioned being a bit scared to do Echo Point, not sure if my bag is up to winter.. I used it at Easter fine but not yet in winter. I think with a layer of cloths on as well, it should be fine for a QLD winter. worse case, maybe throw a space blanket over the top. If I get up the guts to try it, I'll let ya know 😉 It weighs 681 grams.

    Hey mate. Just found your channel. Love it. Any additional insights on this tent. Looking for a compact tent. Will mostly use a bug shelter under a 3x3 tarp and for stealth camping

      @jelbuilderfilms  Месяц назад

      Cheers for that. Not too much to add to this review except I recommend to buy two extra tarp/alligator clips to pull the flyover at each end a bit more away from the tent. I've used this tent heaps now and for my purposes, it's great. 👍

    Tents with the screen inner part are probabily good for our area, sub tropical and tropical areas, good ventilation, but not so great for cooler areas. A friend camped in my tent in southern Chile and complained about how cold my tent was. Last time I looked at mountain design and K2 foe a replacement tent, I couldn't believe the prices! But if I look at another way, the cost of 10 nights in a motel would well and truly pay for it. Maybe I should have a look at tents at Anaconda, see what they have.

    • @jelbuilderfilms
      @jelbuilderfilms  Год назад

      True, I think I would want a different style tent for cooler regions too.

    Great review, I am thinking of ordering one for my trips to the blue mountains, would you say it’s a bit small for me as I am 182cm? Many thanks

    • @jelbuilderfilms
      @jelbuilderfilms  3 месяца назад

      Well, I'm 176cm and I think I still have a little bit of foot room left, so I reckon you'd be fine - just remember it ain't no Taj-Mahal, LOL. I just used this again on a remote bush camp just two days ago in the wind and rain... and I'm still very happy with this purchase. I've used it heaps now and still love it. It's cheap, simple, effective, and compact.
