I don’t have a computer good enough. I’m going right into my iPhone. I run the MX5 to a mixer. I use a mixer so I can add in backing music. Then go right out USB from the mixer to a lighting adapter to my iPhone. Comes out great. I put out a video on it. Keep the MX5 videos coming.
Thanks pedal guy. I am new to recording. I am using Focus Scarlett as an interface and Protools as DAW. What I do is use my headrush gigboard and run the output thru the Focus scarlett then going to the DAW. I have not encountered any issues so far. Any comments on this set-up?
Nothing wrong with that setup. I might be better to connect the Gigboard directly to your computer via usb and make that the audio io when you’re recording guitar tracks specifically.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I am watching your Headrush to Protools video now. Hopefully, I can connect my gigboard to Protools soon. Can I request a video on using GR55 as a midi contoller to Protools. I have a GR55 and I use it to record audio track thru the Focus 4i4 then to Protools. Appreciate all the help. @@ThePedalGuy
I'm watching your video hoping it will also help me record with my HeadRush Prime. I'm hopelessly inept when it comes to the technical aspects of recording guitar and vocals to my computer. Thank you for the video, I'm just now starting to watch it and again hoping it will corelate to the Prime device, new subscriber, peace.
If you notice your getting crackle or the output seems way high, your rig output on the headush might need to be adjusted down. I noticed with each rig that I had to set it up just right. Just adjust it on the headrush and reaper to desired levels.
Guys maybe you can help me! I live in an appartment and want to practice guitar with one of my friends at the same time but I can not disturb my neighbors. Is there a unit like the Headrush MX5 where me and a friend can have 1 guitar each and plug them in at the same time so we can play together with headphones ? So I want something where I can plug in 2 separate guitars and have 2 separate headphones, and play together via a computer. External sound cards like Focusrite scarlett have this but all the Headrush and Line 6 units I can find only have 1 guitar input :( Does anybody know of something that has both Guitar amp simulators, guitar effects, soundcard and can plug in two separate guitars to be able to play with a friend in headphones ? Thanks for tips guys!
got some problems with audio overhere.. i'm not used to play with daws etc... but for the output (sound) do you use headphones who are connected to the mx5 or to you PC? I want to play guitar infront of my pc with the mx5 and playback some youtube or instruction video's like yours. So i want to setup my headset to my pc and connect only the usb cable from my mx5 to my pc. Can u help me? cause i can't even get sound out of my headset when replay an track that i've recorded.
It should work. Make sure you have the USB Audio mode selected on the MX5 and make sure that you've selected the MX5 as your audio output device in Windows.
@@Woutharrr Hey there, did you find a solution to your problem? i kinda want to do the same thing (use my laptop to connect to a bluetooth speaker), but i can't get any audio from the reaper software to play through the laptop speakers. I only hear something when i plug my earphones into the mx-5. (Then i can also hear the recorded tracks)

Hi. There are a lot of reasons that can happen. I found I had a lot of clicks and pops when Bluetooth and Wifi were active on my laptop. Also, it can come down to your app and how it works with your computer. Just gotta mess around with it and you'll eventually get it operating.
Thank you for the kind guide video. I have a question about usb audio setting. Do I have to turn on the usb audio in the global setting every time I turn on the machine ? If I connect it once, won't it automatically connect next time?
If I turn off monitoring on reaper I hear nothing out of my headphones. I have headphones plugged into my pedalboard and the windows playback device set to Speakers Headrush Pedalboard. All other options don't work except the actual speakers in my PC but then I can't hear guitar. All I hear is youtube videos and other audio on PC but nothing from reaper. My Scarlett interface is far easier to user. What am I doing wrong.
@@ThePedalGuy Well maybe i could clarify, i have a wicked computor and amazing monitors so i can play through. Do i need a DAW/ digital audio workstation just to play back what comes out of the Core unit? Using the usb cable will not give me a signal. Global setting didnt help, went all through that.
@@davehill9951 you should be able to use the HR as an audio interface for daw and standard audio settings through your computer. Make sure the HR is set to USB mode if memory serves. Other than that you should contact HR tech support.

Oh yeah. I also use headphones from the mixer. Cost me $60 for the mixer. Well worth it.
That’s excellent
Thank you so much. I'm a beginner with this, but you've made it much easier for me.

Can you please tell us what your Reaper settings are? I'm seeing that audio is showing on reaper but no sound is coming through my speakers.

You need to set it to USB audio mode
How do I record my guitar using my mx5 effects, I can only record the guitar , but the effects does not.?
You can record a wet track and a dry track if you'd like
But then you don’t sync with the metronome of the DAW. Did I get it right ?
Nope. I didn’t sync anything in this demo
Yhanks man
You’re welcome
Why recorded in stereo, how record full signals in mono .. ?
Sorry I didn’t understand your question
Can i record from mx5 to mobile android ? (OTG adaptor cable)
Don’t think that’s possible but I’m not 100%
I assume this will be the same for the pedalboard
Yes
Another question, can you record the guitar separately from the vocals then mix them together?
Yes u can that's what all people do mostly unless it's a live album.
Is your guitar sound coming out of monitor speakers
No, it's just going straight to the PC via USB
I have a question. Do I need speaker monitors, or can I use my Bass amp, for the time being?
You can use your amp to start
