Steve I know you would never take one of the baby fire rescues for a spin... You'd want the giant tri axle! Thank you for another wonderful video. Thank you for what you do delivering these machines and ones like them, I know they arent some of your usual hauls, but you are helping to save lives heaven forbid their services are ever truly needed. Please always be as safe as possible in all of your travels and adventures. I pray that everyone in the family is doing well.🙏💜
Now that is the kind of video I like to see u do, from pick up to drop off. I noticed that alot of ur videos just abruptly end before pickup or drop off of whatever u are transporting. Great job Steve.
Well I bet your glad that’s delivered. Now to get a load or dead head back to your yard and under Orwell you go. I noticed in the videos that the cab on the 660 shakes a lot. Great video. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring.
I remember going to visit my mother's parents when we were kids from Bloomfield NJ to Tunkhannock PA via rt 46, to a portion of rt80 back to rt 46west to rt 80 west to rt6 west by Bartonsville to Clarks Summit and rt 6 the rest of the way. Even later when I started driving trucks it was 78 west to Phillipsburg NJ to rt 22 into PA and west of Allentown, PA back to rt 78west. Beings a Jersey guy who left I'm sure you remember a few other ones. Rt 287 ended at 202 in Towaco NJ. 295 ended up around Burlington. Glad they let you deliver the firetruck! Safe travels and God bless you.
Great video Steve really enjoy all the different camera angles and your commentary. Gotta love watching them test out a new fire truck. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Steve.
Steve I really enjoyed this video. I live an hour from there, so from milesburg to the airport I know it well. Your height of 13'8"", would it not been cheaper to block up the axles and let the air out of the tires? You only needed 2 inches. But that's what she said! And you knew your route numbers as well within my state of Pennsylvania. Get Orwell back on the road. I loved the old cabovers. I had two 4070 Internationals back in the mid 80's. 318 with a 13 speed, a step up from the old B-61 , B-75 Macks I started out in. God bless and keep it safe.
Great content brother. I used to drive, (no age) but ! 322 was the way to go up toward your location. Backroads, yes, a lot of them. Now that the (BLUEBALL) has been finished since the early - mid 90's they say it is more easy, NOT ! I have done the same as your Father, Rt 6 across, that was the way and it was beautiful. We never had four wheelers trying to drive up under us on them two laners. Great traveling with you, stay safe and God Bless.
sounds like you miss orwell you get use to a cabover like orwell it's hard to go to a conventional i'm comfortabel driving a cabover hope to see ole rowell back in good health soon safe travels i'm one that doesn't like a truck that tells me what to do take care
@02:18 LOL. Your reaction is exactly the same as what I do when 'something' starts talking to me. btw I have all the papers and experience to drive those trucks.. It's the distance that causes problems. It's a long swim across that big pond ;-) Nice video. Thanks
2011 (i think) T660 was my first solo truck (for swift of all places). It was one of their lease trucks when they decided to stop doing leases so they took the 13 speed splitter off the knob to make it a 9 speed and stuck it in their normal rotation. Viper red with the studio sleeper. Im not a big guy im only 5'5'' so the tiny cab is perfect for me. I miss that truck, dont miss the company.
Great looking New Airport Fire Truck!! But, notice the strobe lights on the truck seem to have a slow between each flash! Hope you get your truck back!! Thank
They're a different strobe. Fast strobe that hides in the camera's frame rate. Opposite as the Strykers headlight flashing. They don't flash. The camera's frame rate makes it appear flashing.
Flagstaff to 89a south through Sedona to get to I20 or I10. 89a was treacherous through the canyon especially in the snow or Monsoon season. Having 400-1200 foot drops with just a heavy steel retention wire before they put in guard rails.
It’s actually pretty cool catching your video on here, pretty sure I ran into you in Kenosha, wi a few months ago at the BP on hey S, parked my engine right next to the airport rig you were hauling and it dwarfed our fire engine by far.
Funny, I have a Cummins 6BT5.9-M in my boat and I love the sound of that engine, but I'm not crazy about the sound of the Cummins in the Kenworth. I think the Cat in Orwell sounds way better.
The one in the Kenworth is being choked with DEF and other emissions crap. Do a search for "Deleted X-15" here on RUclips to see what they sound like when all that garbage is ripped out of them. Worlds of difference.
Always enjoy your videos.👍 Quick question: Do the amber roof beacons only flash very infrequently, as it appears on your over-the-cab cam, or is it because of the video frame speed difference ? Have a good one !
I was born and raised in Altoona . U would run bypass rt 220 to 17th st then 220 Business to Tyrone pa and go back on 220 at grazerville pa . When i trucked out of Altoona area we ran west on 22 to 422 over to 79 north to 80 west . It was cool to see ya near my home town
I drive for cata the bus you passed after turning on to fox hollow was an Inbound H from Toftrees in regards to interstate 99 prior to its completion sometime around 2009 you would have to get off at exit 52 by bald eagle and run 220 to the milesburg i80 exit or if you needed 322 you could go over skytop mountain rd to where 99 was finished out and run that part from grays woods to exit 73 where 322 splits off 99 and starts toward Harrisburg
I-40 west of Flagstaff and into California is mostly just built straight on top of old Route 66, so it wasn't really 'back roads' so much as just a smaller road in the same place or a couple dozen yards to the left/right. Only major deviation is where it cuts the corner between Seligman and Kingman.
I've heard that if he don't follow the GPS on the newer trucks that you get so far down the road &they shut down automatically,I don't know how true that is or not, but if it is true then you might want to keep a eye on your gauges bcause your truck might just shut down by you didn't follow the truck GPS, be safe Steve & hope that KW doesn't do like I said in my comment
wow great video yea about this time last year I drove from nor California to visit friends in Los Angeles I have a acura mdx we lived all over this state as kids at one point drove towards a small area we lived in and my GPS was like: turn left here I was like 🙄 yea right (besides they built a exterior wall there now) as far as no one knowing about the ambulance arriving reminded me of when truck drivers would mix orders up for Safeway stores so I would load up my 97 vw jetta and show up to deliver products that accidentally got sent to us people would be like alright you finally joined the best team 😂 no just giving you guys your stuff that accidentally got sent to us by them then that moment I heard burnouts then your like no guys no that's not me that's them !!
Enjoy your ride along as usual Steve Which Type of Cab provides a better Comfort...Cab OVER or the T660 and or likewise??? Does a long wheel base do anything for the creature Comforts and or the load Happy Trails til the next Load and all the best to get Orwell fixed and back on the road
The ring gear is replaceable expanded with a lot of heat, remove the old one, get the new ring gear almost glowing hot then drop it right into place with just a few taps of a ball-peen hammer. SAVE some big bucks!!
Its the ARFF which responds to air plane incidents on the runway or when a plane catches fire they respond out and get there to put foam or water on the plane
Well they were definitely informed when it is getting there. He had a time and a phone number, even the destination hangar where it supposed to go it seems. I had never got my order show up unanounced, but never ordered super expensive firetruck lol, just farm equipment. Nobody dares to send harvester or tractor to a place when there might be nobody to receive it, lol. Actually happened with large fertilizer load and the trucker had to sleep in the farmyard. As not only people were not there, but the hangar was not yet empty. As they showed up several days early, unanounced.
Well before I was doing the trucking thing I was into railroad history and what became 80 thru Pennsylvania was going to be a secondary route thru the mountains to try to combat the commodore's water level route! The surveyors and graders had gone thru and everything was ready for the rail to go down but the railroad had gone into receivership and had to halt everything and make account of its assets as they were and that is why it became 80 it was already graded for it. Last time I went thru it before I got cancer I had to drive my rig next to the divider in the construction zone for what seemed like miles b4 I got to the T/A in Carlisle!! I had my kids with me then and made for an interesting ride
I-80 was always I-80. The Pennsylvania Turnpike was built on some old abandoned South Pennsylvania Railroad route where they used the seven tunnels built by the railroad.
@TomM73 that's what I said it wasn't going to be I-80 until well after the railroad abandoned it because of duplicate rails that it owned nearby look up 150 years of railroading that my source for Pennsylvania history I am not a native I am 1 state over and we look like the Heart of America!!
I see you like to drink orange juice. I do, too, but I'm a diabetic. Tropicana makes a 50% less sugar Orange juice. 🍊 It's called Trop 50. I used to run down through State College to get to Harrisburg. There was a model train store on the right that I could get my truck in. I bought several things. Then, one day, they were gone.
For a high-ticket item you think they'd have coffee and cake ready along with the Brass Band because it has safely arrived at its destination and they actually got what they paid for. And of course don't forget the serial number
I had that same problem! no it's not ours? Or it goes to? Usually l wascright where l was supposed to be! 🥴😵🤣. You absolutely work hard and deserve a subscribe! Hang in there big feller! Thanks for sharing 👍🏻. ✌🏻🧡 🇨🇦.
I guarantee what happened is the FD saw the truck sitting there, called the OM and said "where the hell is our truck" They already had the old one out of the bay by the end of the video to make room, like kids on Christmas morning.
Million dollar equipment, 6 to 12 months to build, and where's it going to?. I flew from the UK to the USA to service a machine, arrived at customer, had no idea who organised it, the name I had, the person was on holiday for 2 weeks, and left no instructions. Few back next day. Happy customer in the end Steve.
Rookie drivers take note of Steve's mirror work. It's non-stop, he's always checking. It helps you avoid cars in your blindspots and you can steer or accelerate out of trouble if you see it coming.
I got in a habit of knowing what’s around me, even while driving a car. If there’s a sudden accident or something I know where I can go to avoid it.
It always amazes me how nobody knows who orders what and wher it goes.
I think in this case the person who ordered it was off, b forgot to tell some one or c it’s been so long everybody forgot
Or d the person on the phone is clueless
@@coryhoover01 The d part is a given!
True lol
@@coryhoover01 pencil pushers on the phone are ALWAYS clueless.
I couldn't stop laughing when they asked you. You actually have a fire truck.
Thanks for taking me along for the ride, Steve. Trucking didn't work out for me but at least I can live vicariously through you. Stay safe, Driver!
Kinda funny that you deliver a multi-million dollar fire truck and everyone hopes it's never used for its intended purpose.
Plan for the worst, hope for the best!

Well, it's intended use is to get to crashed airplanes FAST
With no water or foam on board, it'll MOVE

Good evening brother
One of these days I’ll catch you otr drive for Fehrmans out of eagle I’ve seen you headed opposite on 39 a handful of times 🤙
I used to go up to Wisconisca Pa an loaded coal in a bulk tank and took it down south Ga. SC etc.
Its the ARFF which responds to air plane incidents on the runway or when a plane catches fire they respond out and get there to put foam or water on the plane
Hi Steve I lived and drove all over Pennsylvania and highway 6 isn’t a route I ever heard of great video 😊
They probably waited a year or more for the truck to get built only to have it suddenly show up at the gate one day, from their perspective.
Indeed, bit it's a custom order as these all are, It has a huge 20-1 painted on the side. They will figure it out...
Well they were definitely informed when it is getting there. He had a time and a phone number, even the destination hangar where it supposed to go it seems.

When I started driving in 1999/2000 I-80 exits in Penn was numbered and didn’t go with the mile markers same with I-90 in NY
Need to build an overlander rig out of one of those!
Great video Steve
Awesome video 😀👍
In the background at delivery was a poor old P4 USAF fire truck, still live and kicking!
What time stamp was that at?
probably replaced now tho with the new truck being delivered
For a high-ticket item you think they'd have coffee and cake ready along with the Brass Band because it has safely arrived at its destination and they actually got what they paid for. And of course don't forget the serial number
Just put a pull starter on the front of orwell, like a lawnmower....
I had that same problem! no it's not ours? Or it goes to?
Usually l wascright where l was supposed to be! 🥴😵🤣.
You absolutely work hard and deserve a subscribe!
Hang in there big feller!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻.
✌🏻🧡 🇨🇦.
Good job steve ❤❤❤
Orwell sounds great on you tube better than that truck 😊 of course the older trucks always have sounded great 👍🏼 😊
You thought your company truck videos wouldn't do well. Numbers look good to me. All the best.
Man that air compressor, sounds like it's going to detach from the block!!
Crazy I thought that lady was the official greeter waiting for the delivery. That would have been too easy, I guess.
You look so much more comfortable
Another great video
I guarantee what happened is the FD saw the truck sitting there, called the OM and said "where the hell is our truck" They already had the old one out of the bay by the end of the video to make room, like kids on Christmas morning.
Can confirm, this is exactly what would happen!
I bet it gets a little frustrating and tight with that truck going into big cities
Years ago I had to run Penn. 22 east up & over all the hills because the turnpike was closed eastbound.
🎉Christmas in July 😂😂😂
yea kenworth good truck likeo or well better nice truck
Very interesting 🤔
I can't help noticing the transmission problem on the second truck? massive imbalance somewhere in the drive train
Pretty lax security there. No ID check , no check to see if there is any explosives under the truck . Also, no planes moving ! Pretty quiet.
Cool vedeo
Funny how nobody knows who does the ordering and who is supposed to accept it
You know they're hoping for a fire soon to try that bad boy out.
I remember the chaotic route following 322 east before 99 was finished
You would think that a purchase like that would be known about by more of the staff and be looking for it
I remembered a joke when you said Altoona
You can tuna car
You can tuna piano
But you can't tuna a fish

I will bet that this truck is much more comfortable than Orwell
Hello Steve. I know it's a cushie ride in the noser. But at the end of the day. It's not Orwell!
nope the A C is nice and cold in that kw
Those ARFF rigs specs require them to be quick, despite their size. Punching it on the first test drive is not as hot dog as it may seem.
kinda rude that they are taking it for a spin and dont even invite ya:D
Steve, what is the horsepower on that T 660 with the Cummins??
I do the same thing with Google Maps. Quite often I know a better route.
some places they don't have very good communication's of what is coming in and leaving.
Some people are hired to answer the phone and transfer the call. Then the real thinker gets on the phone.
What is that horrible vibration at 8.23, and visible on the highway? It cant be the road that is that rough, like ruts on a dirt road.
When the lady asked Steve if he was at the airport with their firetruck, he should have said: "No, I'm at your house with a brand new automobile."
I know low boy, but it looks like it would scrape off a newly painted line.
Airport dispatch: Is it being delivered to an airport... Well ding dong dingy roo!
I very surprised that they didn't know what it was. They paid for it.
