I read GQ were just teens when they wrote this, and had only played it a few times before they were asked to perform it for a record executive, who heard it only one time then signed them to a record deal. It's a struggle to play this song on bass. You have to leap from the G string to the E string really quick without striking the A string too hard. Easier with a pick. The bassist is not playing with a pick.
