    ABOUT ME
I’m 31 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.

Really am enjoying this daily lamb content. As if lambing isn’t hard enough, putting out a vlog of each day’s work while recovering from the Rona…well, you are legend! And not to forget the strong team working with you. You deserve much success. ☺️☺️🥰🥰 🐑🐑

Love watching you work with Meg. She’s brilliant. I don’t mind if there’s no drama. The scenery is beautiful, the lambs are gorgeous, the mums are so protective. And I love the slightly haphazard filming. It really conveys how quickly everything is changing and how you have to adapt the ever changing situation. Love it, love everything and love you dashing hither and yon!

Good to see mum get a worthy credit. I bet she’s there keeping you all fed and doing the little things nobody notices that seem to happen by magic. I’m glad big Sean will get one of the pups, I was quite impressed that even his old dogs just go along for the ride even though they are past it. Because he feels they still need a bit of fun in their lives.

Always amazes me how you can identify each & every one of your sheep. Knowing who mum is coz you seen the lamb being born in the morning. Been watching your videos for a while & think I'm doing well being able to tell a blackie from a cheviot let alone each individual. Great work Cammy. I drive past your fields on these nice light nights & so enjoy admiring your labours. Take care.

Absolutely love the new flock watch device and how you can quickly it works and especially how easily you can show us how it works! It very interesting especially how it was to log your sheep and especially how you can make notes, like the info on Iris. Please keep showing us you how you are doing it occasionally in future vlog.
Love your son and how you got to to smile on camera! Definitely a bright star to be proud of.

We have had cheviots, and blackies for close to 40 years. Here’s my take:
NCC - wilder, slightly less prolific, require a bit better feed, good maternal traits, good for crossing, wool more saleable for a variety of uses, better carcass.
SBF - easier to handle, closer to 150% in lowland conditions, can survive in places and produce a crop on harder ground, great mothers, great mule makers, wool’s biggest value is as protection from the elements especially the lamb coat, lighter carcass than chev on ave but can be fed to good dead weights.
    Both breeds superb meat quality.

I drove past a property out here which had sheep and I actually stopped my car to look at them. They were Suffolk and close to lambing. I started out very much disliking sheep and will probably never own them but after watching you and Sandi Brock, I have more respect for those who raise sheep. And find them fascinating now...though they still seem to just want to die. That's what drives me crazy! Excellent video!

A boy Cammy another good video 👍.
When you're trying to catch a ewe in the fields, try park the quad facing the wall/hedgerow. That way you create a fence/barrier that creates an obstacle for the sheep & makes it easier for you to catch them.
Meg did a great job bringing the lamb out the gate.

Enjoyed the scanner view and the pup update. Lots of lovely lambs in this one. 'Shot myself (in the foot)' in your accent sounds like 'sh*t myself' in mine. I'm hearing you better now, but I didn't follow what happened ten times to the ewe with the crushed ear. Sounds like a tale. Might want to tell wee Jock that you're going to stick together instead of oops you've abandoned him! Make sure he knows he won't be reassigned like a silly lamb. He's a beauty :)

Loving the videos!! My first ever dog was a border collie called Jess-she has been the best dog we’ve had the privilege to own us!! She was one in a million-hope your Jess turns out the same 💖.
