      But Mike like fighting up close and personal so No! that wasn't the best strategy, Oh! another mistake thinking he's a Bully because, he's not a Bully, he a professional fighter, now if you have a good jab you might last 6 rounds, but after 3 rounds of successful jabs most fighters got to comfortable thinking he's not that tough, stop the jab and let him get in too close, then they got knock out

      Snuby is Pete's youngest brother. The Youngest of the four siblings. If truth be told, Peter is probably the 3rd most natural boxing talent of the 4 McNeely kids. Tom, the oldest son might have had the greatest natural ability in the US to become a pro competing for the heavyweight title. A true mesomorph like Arnold, with probably a couple of inches on him, but the grace of a lion. Tom never took up the sport, even as a hobby as far as i know. The 2nd oldest sibling and older brother of Pete (Sean) has the most terrifying hands you will ever see on a man. A little taller and much more of a natural athletic frame than Pete, an extremely bright entrepreneur who also could have been a contending boxer. No one in Massachusetts or anywhere else would ever tangle with Sean and live. And as you may know, their father Tom fought Floyd Patterson in 1961 for the title..

When you want money and to make a name for yourself of course you fight taxi drivers and troll the heavyweight champion of the world.

    I loved this fight so much cause I boxed out of the same gym as Peter for many yrs south shore boxing. His trainer Vinni was always giving me pointers wich was amazing cause I was just a young teen but Peter was a god in our gym and I’ve seen him fight many times as I helped set up the rings for events he’d fight in he put away a lot of tough guys . Even though he didn’t beat Tyson you knew he was not afraid of anyone when he came running out of his corner to be honest if you watch it I think it took Tyson bye surprise too . No one can ever take that away from you Pete you fought Tyson who is the most devastating knock out puncher that’s ever done it. And you took it to him. Even though I was a young nobody Peter was always nice to me and would actually take time to talk to me if we were in the locker room I was proud that you made it to that level

    • @odurandina
      @odurandina 3 года назад

      @@jesussaveslives512 Snuby is Pete's youngest brother.

    As short as this fight was, it remains one of my all time favorite Mike Tyson related fights :).
    A lot of this has to do with you going toe-to-toe with Mike Tyson from the get go, giving boxing fans that "oh shit, he's actually going for it!" moment. Sure, you took a serious gamble there, but it made the fight that much more exciting as a result!
    Mark Young, Reggie Gross and Trevor Berbick also attempted to bring the fight to Mike, but not as dramatically as you did :).
    That AWESOME staredown between you two before the opening bell is easily the most memorable/enjoyable in boxing history!
    I love how you laughed off Mike's intensity, especially since he is all about intimidation and you were having absolutely none of those bullshit mind games before the bell hahaha!
    The only one that made me laugh more, but in the making fun of sense, was when Lennox Lewis REFUSED to blink against Shannon Briggs from before the time each fighter was introduced by Michael Buffer, all the way up until the instructions from referee Frank Cappuccino hahaha! It was SO forced in comparison to the truly badass staredown that you were involved in :).
    Anyway, thank you for the memories, Peter! All the best to you and your family! Keep it up and NEVER give up!
