I love this interpretation. The registration is wonderful. I can get lost in this piece and easily let my mind wander and wonder. Thank you so much for sharing it.
This may be the best version of this work that I've heard. I've known the piece since when it was first released in recording, on electric keyboard (via the legendary Soho News EP) and have watched it get taken up by various musicians using different instruments over the intervening years. I just listened to about 8 different RUclips recordings, some on piano, the others on organ. This version is just superb. The organ sounds magnificent, and the playing reveals wonderful shadings, colors, and nuances, offering a full-bodied realization of the work's inner luminescence. I'm just thrilled to have witnessed this. Kudos!
Thank you for listening! I also find myself coming back to this piece again and again as a performer, discovering new subtleties each time and inspired by the sounds of different instruments. It makes an effective recital piece!
Was glad to find your channel and pleased to learn you’re in Rochester. Excellent performance. I went to UR in the 1990s and lived at East Ave my senior year. Thanks for sharing your art on YT and best of luck to you.
Reminds me of the opening 3 notes of Einstein on the Beech - an Organ simply plays 3 notes (basically a Perfect Cadence) over and over and the durations are reduced over a long time period. That is the beauty of the organ… The Opening of Koyaanisqatsi is similar in design as well - completely different of course. Great performance.
omg, beautiful. Especially the last movement. This is why I keep telling folks the original 1979 organ version has such a different affect than the newer piano interpretation. That last treble note just cannot be held that long on a piano :) Pulling all the stops out even adds a uniqueness. Do you have a Bandcamp recording? Or similar. RUclips's poor audio qualify does your performance a disservice.
Hello! Thank you for your comment! I think the static tones of the organ suit this minimalistic music very well, and it offers me a chance to show off the various colors of this beautiful H&H instrument. Unfortunately, I do not have the original audio file anymore. Sorry about that...
Thanks! I don't think there are any sheet music out there with a pedal line, but I listened to James McVinnie's recording of this piece and was influenced by that.

C'est la première fois que j'écoute une oeuvre de Phil Glass pour Orgue. Un bien grand compositeur . . . .
I'm told Glass was one of the pioneers of Minimalism in composition.
Simply fantastic! A magnificent composer best possible interpreted! Nice to hear.
Fantastic sound from that beautiful instrument, transcendent composition and beautifully played with great skill. Well done

Such a stunning piece, well played Sir!
This performance is fantastic. Great work!
The amount of control and fluency it takes when you play this as a duet, it’s astonishing how you did this with your self!
I always find myself coming back to this, whether I'm working, reading, or just trying to relax. Thanks for sharing it :)

I can't describe my feelings and how much goosebumps i had when i heard the movement at 2:51, amazing!

Hey Ryan I’m playing this in two weeks at a recital. On piano of course but I love your interpretation on organ. Never thought
Peaceful
Big tip of my PG logo cap from this PG fan. Sounds great on my system.

L'effetto ottenuto, se suonato su organo del 700 o tradizionale a canne, é migliore.

Thank you, haha!
