This video provides a basic explanation of how patent claims work. If you want to gain a basic understanding of how claims relate to aninvention then this video is for you.
excellent info. never mind naysayers, they’re not here with a mind to getting serious things done - they likely post silly comments all over RUclips. I have 25 pages of drafted claim info and need to get things clarified for my PCT application. I’m all over these patent vids in addition to official guides AND do it yourself books. Need all the info I can get so much appreciated.
Hi there! Thank you so much for this video - a lot of things now make sense to me! You mentioned that if we designed something without the permission of the inventor then it's considered infringement. So does that mean we can design something similar to the inventor's then ask for permission? What's the success rate of them saying yes and not asking for an exorbitant amount of compensation?
The hardest part of a patent..drafted mine during the holidays in a Las Vegas casino it took over a week of studying day and night. Now that I think about I'm writing a biography I'm an interesting fella lol
Question. Lets say a patent has 20 claims but my new product which is similar in design only share 5 of the claims that the patent covers. Is this patent infringement ?
Hi Sir, thanks for your educational tutorial. If an invention has 5 embodiments described in the sections of the patent specification before the claims section, does it mean these embodiments should be recited in the claims section else these embodiments will be not be protected by the patent? If recited in the claims section, should each embodiment be written as an Independent claim? 5 indpendent claims?
Sorry, i think i am missing something here. If the examiner found a car that has orange roof exist already, is it not true that claim 1 is still invalidated given that a car already exist having a vinyl roof? If so, what is the point of further limiting with claim that it is of another color? So, unfortunately, i still fail to understand the purpose of further limiting.
I would appreciate it even more if you can speak a little louder. I have the volume on youtube and my computer on full blast, I still could barely hear anything.
@@TheAfiago yes, but the audio is kinda quiet. When I go back to another video or application, it is super loud because I had to turn my volume ALL the way up to hear this.

If we invent a cat launching catapult, will the appeals court make us verify that it works? lol

Cosmo John it's an abstraction, as if someone invented the nail but there are claims for different shapes of nails.
Lord Bless. O'Lord have mercy upon these innocent kids. Hare Krishna.

Try buying a bluetooth external speaker, that's what I had to do, laptop speakers are horrible.
