Very detailed information. Thank you. Better for me to see all the details beforehand and not make any mistakes. Didn’t feel all the measurements were needed but what the heck. No info on adding to the Ring app but I’m guessing it’s pretty self explanatory.
Thank you. Measurements in case someone needs to know as they have limited space - i had it and i could not find anything so. Adding to app is easy and if you follow what app tells you step by step you cant go wrong. They really made this product very nice. Stay safe.
@@fluidfixcan you install these first and then set up in the app? Or do you need to set them up in the app prior to install?
I installed all of them and then set them up as you have qr codes on each box for each item what makes that job a lot easier.

I have the same ring camera it’s just white and it’s battery powered. I ordered the cable that so I don’t have to use the batteries because the batteries limit you on how you want your settings like motion warning you cannot have those.

Yes, I’ve tried it with battery and cable. If you have a plug-in go with the cable instead the cable works a lot better a lot more customizable opportunities and said the battery I have to get up on a ladder every six months to grab the battery. Thank you.
And plus you get motion warnings and a couple other features when you have it plugged in when it’s battery powered, you don’t get those features. Thank you so much for replying.
If you have birds eye set on your pro then motion detection will only be around 15 feet but if you turn it off you will get around 40 to 50 feet motion detection

I have just bought this camera and after two days of being put up there’s no power from the mains and I don’t have a battery pack, is the usb slot at the back of the camera the correct place to plug into for constant power ?
Hi. Yes there is only one place where you can do it. Try switching the socket to another one and if that wont help look inside of the connector on the cable and in the camera - look for bent pins. If you see any this is why. Look as well for damage on the cable. If you find something good you know what is wrong if not then just contact them and replace it as it is not working. Stay safe .
@@fluidfix I took the camera down and tried the plug in different sockets and still no power so now I have got two quick release battery packs coming so I can use the battery option instead
Hey. Do you have fuse in the head of the cable that connects to socket? if yes check it as it might have blown. if so exchange it and try again. Other possibilities. If you own multimeter you can split the cable down to two parts one from socked to the box and other including black box to camera. Using multimeter you can check for continuity of cable that you connect to socket. Do it only if you know how. If you feel confident to do it. If don't then forget about it. Hope you can narrow it down. Stay safe and happy my friend.
@@fluidfix I changed the fuse and still no power so decided battery packs will be more convenient with no trailing wires

Hey. Welcome to my channel. No you don't need to do this but when power is out for any reason they will be off as well - normal. When they have battery inside then they can be on when power is out. That is positive feature not negative. Hope that helps you somehow. Stay safe.
@@fluidfixyes but what you have to remember even if you have the batteries in there when there's a power outage it still needs the internet to record unless you have a ups for the internet
I know that it needs internet connection but when you pay subscription it will still alert them and they will contact you and in case they cant they will call police and respond so better than nothing in my humble opinion.
Does the usbc hardwired kit work for this ?
I have usbc to socket I don't know exactly what you mean by usbc hardwired as hardwired is connection to pre installed power cables and usbc is plug and play device so....
@@fluidfix I want to take out my old flood light and put this in but from all the videos I’ve seen it seems like these plug in models need to plugged directly into an outlet. I want to hardwire it into where the old floodlight used to be. Any idea how to do it? I bought a hardwired mount kit just in case and I bought this usbc hardwired kit that goes directly into the usbc in the back and mounts to the junction box. Guess I’ll find out soon lol.

I never looked at hardwiring plug and play to be honest so I wood not be able to tell you - I guess you would hardwire the adapter and then just use it to power it. Stay safe.
