I've been watching CX-5 review videos all day, this one is by far my favorite specially because of your shared personal experience and loyalty to the brand/model (while also comparing to the other competitive brands as well) which speaks volume about this vehicle. I'm about to test drive this one tomorrow and if all goes well with my current car appraisal possible making a purchase this week. Cheers! :)
REALLY well put together car, I got to detail a '23 full of Dog Hair and Dirt, and it cleaned up incredibly well! Plastics and Leather held up against a big pupper, the quality of the dash, steering wheel, and instrumentation is on the level of some Lexus and Mercedes. Looks GREAT a Beautiful Car inside and out! Thanks for the vid Zack!!
im an ex mazda mechanic and i dont agree, yes its the less worst mazda but its not good, its more than 10yo and drivetrains are the least refined out there, mazdas are really outdated cars and theyre not even reliable, unless you have a very good deal, i wouldnt touch it
Mazda makes good stuff. Maybe not the most cutting-edge but they're put together well and drive nicely. I like that they don't have a giant screen because they don't need it.
I got a '22 NA version. It looks great and am glad to have purchased it. The one flaw for me is not enough thigh support in the seats. Long drives require stretches.
I just find the side of the seats a little stiff, it like digs into the sides of my hamstrings. Not a big deal but slightly less comfy than my jeep wrangler seats
Premium fuel is not recommended. The manual recommends standard fuel. I have however recently started using high octane and notice a benefit in the immediacy of power when I put my foot down. On standard there was at times a noticeable lag, on premium I seem to be getting no lag at all. Mine is the 2023 year turbo model.
Fantastic review! Driving a GTI Clubsport MK7 myself here in Sweden. But looking for alternatives to my old parents 24 year old or so Volvo V70, in case it would decide to brake down any time soon 😂 Excellent production quality mate! Having driven 1000 cars & still coming back to the same brand says a thing or two! 👍
Great video on the mazda cx5 turbo question have you driven the acura RDX AWD A-spec 2.0 turbo charge and do a comparison with the mazda cx5 turbo l when you do if you haven't already give me your opinion on both of them and which one you would personally purchase base on reliability driving dynamic, thank stay safe looking forward for your answer.
As someone who is selling my motorcycle because of a baby, and changing to a family vehicle, the CX5 turbo was the choice for me. The turbo offers enough fun that its better than getting a Rav4. Also its not too expensive compared to getting an Audi or BMW
I would love to see your thoughts on the Mazda Tribute (the predecessor to this CX-5), or the related first generation Ford Escape, whichever one you find first. Just to see how far Mazda has come with their "small" crossovers since the Ford partnership era.
by the time the ecm and tcm are probably toasted, its even less reliable than the cx5, i used to work on both all day long, i would stay very very far from both and every mazda products ever made unless its from the 90's and has a bp engine
Just picked up a 2021 carbon turbo on Saturday.. loving it so far. I drive fairly conservatively for the most part, and maybe i'm just paying too much attention, but the MPG estimation has been consistently UNDER 20mpg (~16/17) on premium fuel. Wondering if it's just something I should ignore and pay more attention to trip A and see how much I realistically get at the end of the tank?
Honestly as a person who thrives in technology and user friendliness. I would take Physical buttons for climate control ANYDAY. I have no idea why other cars have taken it away, but physical buttons for climate control is definitley a huge plus when im looking at cars, its easy to use. Hence is one of the reasons why I drive a Cx-5 lol.
Mazda does not offer blacked out lower window trim and emblems during initial order or as parts to order. 👎 Many people are vinyl wrapping but mor work and money. You should have the factory choice from the beginning.
They are certainly old-school-ish. If you keep cars for a long time there is a lot of value in tried and true tech. CVTs and batteries are not cheap to fix/replace.
Annoying noise in the background - we own a 2024 CX5 turbo and this guy does not capture the features and benefits except to use praise words...we get it, you like Mazdas... Waste of time.
You embodied EXACTLY how I feel about Mazda......great job!💥

Did you end up buying it?
Really starting to consider one of these for a daily commuter
I drive a 2015 CX 5 doing Lyft/Uber. I think youll really like one as a daily. Decent MPG and sporty when the mood strikes.
I love my '24 CX-5.
Excellent review.
I have a CX5 non turbo and I love it.
Me too.
Miata owner that pointed my parents, Honda family, towards a CX5 Turbo Signature. I'll swear the Mazda is everything Honda used to be.
The CX-5 is the crossover Miata so great choice!
Love and root for Mazda but hopefully they refresh some of their models soon. I’m anxiously waiting on a refreshed 3.

The CX5 is perfect as long as you don’t need a roomy back seat. There’s just not enough room for anyone larger than a kid to sit behind a six footer.

@@retrocompaqI suspect you’re a disgruntled ex Mazda mechanic. Less worst really?
@@retrocompaqyour opinion absolutely isn’t an acceptable representation of Mazda products. I’m not even sure why you shared it.

Fyi. One mistake. You can turn off the touch screen restriction. I can use mine at any speed. Just from the factory it comes with the restriction.
ALL the reviewers miss this! You are correct - it is a Bluetooth setting. Loving my '24 CX-5 Turbo.
@@imkindofabigdeal4308 2024 CX-5 Turbo Signature is a dream car.
@@Ari_G73 I got the Turbo Premium and the 0% financing (thank you Mazda!!!). Has to be the best deal in America right now.

Mazda to me fills the same space Volkswagen used to occupy in the 2000s... just a tad more premium than competitors.
Got me a 2024 Deep Mica Blue in Select trim...love it!

This as a hybrid would
Sell like crazy.
It already does
I could care less about the touch screen feature. Once you learn to use the wheel it’s all you ever want to use.
Good vid.. im stuck between acura rdx advance a spec or turbo premium cx5.. acura a bit more pricey
Heated seats on max setting and AC up at the same time - interesting.
Does the thick front left pillar get in the way of seeing while you drive?
I LOVE my CX-5 but the infotainment system is wayyyy to small still
I hope Mazda refine the 2.5 NA engine and make a bit more horsepower and torque. If CX-30 has 190hp, they can at least make CX-5 with 200hp
Considering you can also get a little mazda 3 sedan with the same engine and with the 2.5 turbo
I burn 93 octane in my naturally aspirated. It gets a bit better mileage and has more zoom zoom to me.
I just get mine 🎉

Mazda ♥️♥️♥️😊
Meh. Car way out of my price range. I wish mazda still sold economy class cars but I think that's a problem to be discussed with politicians.
crossovers lack dog compartments
dogs are not person hihihiih but ok theu are part of the family ok hugs keep the good work
I like Mazda, but their ICE power trains are getting long in the tooth. They need some HEVs with good gas mileage asap.
They are certainly old-school-ish. If you keep cars for a long time there is a lot of value in tried and true tech. CVTs and batteries are not cheap to fix/replace.
No they don’t. Their sale numbers say otherwise.
I loved Mazda in the 80s and 90s. I'm still not convinced of Mazda's intent to be premium. And the CX-5 is still "meh" to me.
I wish Mazda would stop trying to go premium and go back to fun to drive affordable cars
