I’m blessed to be born to a mother who adored this man & band. I loved album this as 4-5yo. Loved staring at the artwork. Used to draw the artwork on Night & Day from memory when bored in classroom. True story just sayin.
ONE TO ONE 😢
One of my favorite artists of all time. Saw him once at Vredeburg/Utrecht being a young silly punk back in the eighties. I even wore the exact white pointed shoes from the Look Sharp album on a daily basis. So many beautiful original melodies, great recognizable lyrics. He did just what he wanted, never gave in to commercially making music. At 60 years still crazy about Joe.
Joe Jackson is hands down, my all time favorite musician. I was there from the beginning and have followed him throughout. Why doesn’t everybody know who he is?
One of the most exciting musicians ever! Such amount of talen combined with a constant search for musical adventures,,,Never a dull moment with this fine artist! He has been with me for most of my life so far and I can't thank him enough for bringing me so many wonderful moments!
You’re crazy! You gave us permission. 😂. I like it too. One to One is one of my fav Joe deep cuts. But there are so many. I wish he’d play more of them more often.
"I've got The Cramps on the stereo!" My brother got this on cassette tape when it was first released, loved it then, still do. While most everyone around us was still listening to over-played and tired Stadium Rock, we were listening to this. When I hear this song, it puts me in my brother's 1973 Opel Manta with his Blaupunkt at full volume, smiling and singing!
Mec absolument merveilleux,un charme de fou, je l'adorais vers 1982 1986, un vrai musicien. Je l'ai vu tard sur sa tournée Big World en 1986 à la bourse du travail de Lyon.
Holey effing... this is the master for the recording from which he used for his actual live album, minus some stuff he edited out! *Everything* is the same from the beginning to the end of "One to One" except him speaking to the audience before starting the song.

@@buxvan "PRETTY BOYS!!" Cripes, he was prescient about videos before he even decided not to _do_ any. That one & *Biology* are great on a level I wish I knew enough about music theory to express. "Fit," while nasty kind of captures that spirit between acknowledging something socially & accepting it. The best 4 tracks on that album are at the end of it, which is often as things should be.

As live music goes, it really doesn't get any better than this.

Joe jackson is far too underrated! I have most of his albums and I haven't heard a bad song from any of them.
Call me crazy, but Beat Crazy is one of my favourite albums. Especially this song, i understand him so well.
Me too.
Yeah, you’re not crazy at all. It’s ny favorite at the moment, as well.

Love the album, too
Great song love it ❤

he is so lovely.......such a shame he didn't realise what a beautiful man he is,,,,,
I love the guitar tone as well as everything else. Joe Jackson for life!!!
One to One is so much beyond what Elton John thought he could offer
I toured with joe in the 80s my dad is the drummer Dave houghton i was only 8years old but it was a wild upbringing but fantastic ❤
Joe swings. This version of One to One is the version on his live double album. Awesome. The smartest composer ever?
The short lived Joe Jackson Band. ❤
Love this man so much ❤
Beat Crazy! is a special album
My favorite JJ album!

Dave Houghton's linear pattern on "The Evil Eye" is sublime. Wish there was footage of him playing it.
So amazing.
My 2 favorite tracks from that album, with Mad At You and In Every Dream Home right behind.

And a rippin bass player.
Graham Maby was scorching through that entire Best Crazy album!
Tight live band! Great!
Ca me rappelle de bons souvenirs...Tx pour le partage.
Je vous en prie!
Excellent!
The man is a great jam
Thank you! Sharing...
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it enough to say so, and for sharing, so others can enjoy it, too [hopefully].
God, these lyrics are so poignant for 2020.
love this !
brilliant in spite of the minor glitches :)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, in spite of the imperfections :)
Just got into a heated argument with a communist woman. Sent her this song
Tried to call you yesterday
But you were at the Monday Club
Or a Communist demonstration
Who cares
You're going somewere everyday
Vegetarians against the Klan
Every Woman Against Every Man
Never
One to One
What's wrong
What's wrong with one to one
Just once
Just me and you
'Cause one to one is real
And you can't hide, just feel
That three's a crowd
I agree with what you say
But I don't want to wear a badge
I don't want to wave a banner like you
Though I don't mind it if you do
You're beautiful when you get mad
Or is that a sexist observation
Or
One to One
What's wrong
What's wrong with one to one
Just once
Just me and you
'Cause one to one is real
And you can't hide, just feel
That three's a crowd
*******
People say there's no such thing as voodoo
I don't know why
People say there's no such thing as love
I got a job in S.E. 15
And after tax my wage is 16
July the 17th I'll be 18
I don't think I'll live till 19
People say I'm looking so much older than what I am
People laugh at me when I say why
I'm being watched
By the Evil Eye
I'm being watched
By the Evil Eye
Working for a man who wears a straw hat and never smiles
And an apron striped and splashed with blood
I stack a pig's head on the shelf
The boss comes along and says move yourself
I can't move I'm hypnotized
Staring into a dead pig's eyes
I turn around and all I see is ladies
With shopping bags
Staring at me trying to read my mind
And I'm being watched
By the Evil Eye
And I'm being watched
By the Evil Eye
(walking home-on my own
Standing on the bus stop- crossing the road
I'm being followed-'cause I can feel
Someone's breath on my neck
Someone's toe on my heel...)
Gotta keep on walking
I can't stop now-I've come too far
Wait till I get home and lock the door
I got the candles burning low
I got the Cramps on the stereo
I got the doll now I can start
With a pin right trough the heart
I got dolls with straw hats
I got ladies with shopping bags
They'll be sorry they crossed me tonight
Now they're being watched (they're being watched)
By the Evil Eye
Being watched
By the Evil Eye
Being watched
By the Evil Eye
I was playing the Beat crazy CD in my van today. Bloody brilliant. Pretty boys & this are my favs. Joe Jackson is a superb artist.
