Dear Greg Your videos are really good and look so professional, as a man of science focused on birds, I can tell you that you are a great narrator, your videos have the right amount of scientific knowledge to make them understandable and amenable for the casual watcher. I wish we could have more videos like this, please keep uploading them! Thank you
Hi. We visited Tikal area as part of the Belize trip but haven't done Guatemala properly as yet. Hopefully once the restrictions ease it will be another on the to-do list.
Greg I know this was film 4 years ago but have you since invested in an external mic with 'dead cat' to reduce wind noise. I did so and it made a massive difference to my videos. Another great video BTW.
Hi Shaun. Yes I did and I actually found it made very little difference to wind noise and also picked up the slightest click or movement close to the camera (despite having it in the right directional mode). I now try and edit as much as I can in post production although I’ve found that generally when it’s windy it’s windy. Our if interest what external mic did you opt for?
@@GregBaker57 Ah strange like I said it helped me quite a bit. I went for the Rode VideoMicro. Also when I use this you don't pickup the internal working sound of the camera itself like when zooming etc.
@@GregBaker57 You'll never get rid of the wind sound completely but in my case it went from a high pitched irritating sound to a duller lower pitch which is much kinder on the ear.
@@GregBaker57 Your narration is excellent, you got a nice voice for it too. I've not quite gotten there yet. Started to do a little in front of camera stuff but still have to get used to it. Too used to being behind the camera.

Shaun Ferguson I plan to try again. Sound is the what takes the longest to sort out during the editing process!

Wonderful video , enjoyed.
Did you speculate as to what that odd white feather was? A mutation perhaps?
