The beginning is sometimes better than the end in ways that give you more context. He was trying to give so much even then and gave us the depth to grow from and reach a point of having HOPE. Fear made the way, but Hope drove NF through it all.
You guys will love this if you do the WHOLE journey. It's about 30 something songs. NF has a way of pulling at your heart strings. I'm a huge fan of his and I love your channel guys! Edit: NF' s mom's boyfriend was very physically abusive to Nate. Nate has never drank or done drugs. His mother was an addict. Hia father had to finally take the kids from her. The black balloons in his songs are "burdens" that people will often "carry around" in his songs. lots of stuff like this in almost all of his songs.

Someone made this video, it has parts of a bunch of his other videos. It probably makes it a little confusing. Watching the lyric video let’s you paint your own picture in your mind and makes it so much better.
This song only has a Lyric Video. This looks like one someone made by compiling clips of his other videos. You would probably do best if you stick to NF's official channel. He has lyric videos or official music videos for just about all his songs. I think all the songs on "The Journey" have one or the other. I am so glad you are doing this. I had been listening to NF sense his self titled debut. Back in 2014. He started to really gain traction with Mansion and hasn't stopped since. A lot of my favorite songs by him aren't even part of "The Journey" So when you finish that there is still plenty more to check out!
You're starting to get into the "meat" of NF's catalog now. Intro is a bit of an outlier as it's more of a classic Hip-Hop "flex" track showing off his lyrical skills. Most of the tracks from now on will be more of this deep, introspective style and Nate will regularly revisit themes he brings up in this song. Fear and regret are major themes in his music, his mom is also a pretty regular topic and there is a whole track focused on his relationship with her coming up soon.
Ok, I'm just going to be honest with you, you go through the NF journey and the NF will respond because their the best, you will go from 32 thousand subs to over a 100 k this year. Plus it's amazing music.
My two favorite artists now are Ren and NF due to their emotional vulnerability they express in their work. I really like seeing men express themselves in genuine emotions, not toxic masculinity. It shows that men are more multi-faceted and human.

Great reaction but It's almost too bad that you got introduced to this song with this chopped up video made from clips of his other videos. Some of them fit the words, but over all I think it takes away from the message of the song itself by distracting the listener with images not intended for this song and making you question how they correlate.
