Hey brother get well and take care of yourself. I am paralyzed from the waist down , I was shot at a party breaking up a fight . I am a combat Marine vet of 2 tours in Iraq lost a lot of brothers and last week lost my mother she was heart . I had to learn to do and ask for help sometimes I'm 6foot 4 and 300 pounds and I had to learn to slow down but I'm still wide open and try to do everything but my 3 boys are my life and my oldest graduates next year and it's hard I am now 43 have learned a lot in life but family is the most important part of life . Get healthy brother and hang in there it will get better

It’s so sad, I am an African living in America but my family still honor our culture. You said you don’t even have time to mourn when you lose a loved one. I have lived in several countries but only in the United States there is no time to mourn a loved one. Other countries have weeks of mourning and healing. We have even shortened the time to mourn to a week for immediate family in the U.S to keep up when it’s weeks back home. The men in the U.S are a dying breed. This country needs to wake up and bring back the culture of loving, supporting and respecting men. Thank Dax for showing the way.
I would argue it is not time to change what a man should be, but to maintain what a man is to be. I don't see this song as being something to imply manhood needs to change, rather it just needs to be heard in the sick fucking world we live in today where men are called toxic for being exactly what women want, need and expect them to be. I got a card in my birthday and Father’s Day this year all in one from my daughters as well as my ex all in one. I just spent 4000 dollars on a trip for my oldest to go to Spain this summer. All I got in return was a card in my mailbox. Not even a knock on my door saying they love me. I’m not trying to be a downer. But that shit hurt me worse than a knife.

Sir, I myself am also from New York. Born in the Bronx, raised in Queens. And now I live In a small town in PA with my wife and 2 young sons, one's about to start Kindergarten. I was also blessed with a group of friends who have been my brothers since we were 17 and now we all live in different States. But listening to your response to this song really brought a ton of joy to heart. Because you remind me of my brothers, and I miss them. Yes the young man in the white shirt and red hat!! I'm a soldier and a country fan but that was HARD and everything he said resonated so much. My son is 2 and I'm raising him for this battlefield of life. You have a kind heart but a thick skin, God built us to last and you will have to push through a lot on your own sometimes so you have to be ready incase i don't make it long enough to be there for you. My son WILL be a good man and he WILL provide for his future family, if i do nothing else in my life right that will be enough.

after the military i didnt have many friends back home anymore as i had been gone for years and i had left the brothers i had made except for their online presence.
i turned to alcohol and didnt have anyone to talk to about my demons and the pain i felt every day.
my parents and siblings didnt understand why i chose to drink and be antisocial but music kept me going, dax's dear alcohol really hit me hard and then to be a man hit me harder.
