Some says Cyril is weak, and extremely useless trash, cuz he doesn't have a crest, and ability "Aptitude" is actually useless by every means possible. Well, technically it's true. In the beginning only. But literally, even in maddening, it's ultra useful. Aptitude are giving aditional 20% stat boost. Let me give you this interesting fact. If you give him class War Monk. Which is having 95% chance of HP rise. Or Wivern Lord, which is having 85% chance of HP rising. And including Aptitude, which is giving ironically +20%. Of course it's overkill. But no matter how you look at it, it's 100% possability, regardless of any opinion. And HP with each level will getting the point. You get it? With every level, you will get every 1 HP point guaranteed. That's just how happens to me every time. If you check the stats rise in every class, you def can try, and make your Cyril literally powerful.

@@SylarGKIW aptitude does nothing. not like it’s pointless or just bad but it literally does not do anything. basically what the devs did is gave cyril some average growths, lowered them by 20, then gave him a skill that raises them all by 20. his HP is average. it is not the reason why he is good, and having HP isn’t important at all most of the time anyways, and even then he doesn’t even have high HP. the reason why he is good is because of his combat arts and also his boons. he gets point blank volley (a brave combat art, hits twice) very shortly after his minimum recruit time in ch5. most brave arts are learnt at A rank or come from an advanced class mastery. then at c+ lances he learns vengeance, which has the highest potential for damage output in the game - just get him to low HP (like i did in the vid) and he does tonnes of damage and can oneshot pretty much any enemy with no need for skills to help him boost his damage. he has boons in axe and flying, which is really good for getting wyvern, best class in the game, he has boons in bow and lance, good for using his combat arts, and also riding but using him in a riding class isn’t optimal also i’d like to mention, i don’t think anyone has been saying “bad because no crest” since 3 years ago. crests don’t do much most of the time, and for many units (including cyril) it’s better _not_ to have a crest because not having one allows the user to take damage from relic usage, which is really helpful for setting up low HP abilities and combat arts. in the vid i specifically used cyril’s lack of crest and the lance of ruin to secure cyril’s HP getting low for maximum vengeance damage (but it ended up being low enough anyways)
@@alpha_c. Oh... So i WAS actually right, when i gave him Fortress Knight class. Might be funny why not Great Knight. I played only 2 times with Cyril in Maddening difficulty. And i do kept him on Fortress Knight the most. But on second playthrough i used Great Knight only on main or side story bosses. The reason why? Well... Sadly enough Great knight giving good additional stats, but Fortress Knight are giving bigger chance on rising DEF & RES. With Aptitude, chances are equally 50% on RES, and 65% on DEF. But far by now, i also giving him many RES items buff that will work against magic. I also used those abilities - Aegis - Pavise - Vintage - Wraith - and Lifetaker. I thought the Miracle would be good, but the trigger chance would be bad idea for Cyril. And as batallion... I either go with "Duscur Heavy Soldiers", or "Blue Lion Knights". But depending on which playstyile i prefer... It's "Blue Lion Knights". And the weapon pick you might find laughable. Cuz it does, but works. - "Wo Dao/Cursed Ashiya Sword", with "Magic Bow". If you ask why i am not picking any axe weapon? Forget it... For some unknown reason to me, Magic bow and swords with high crit chance are more useful... But if you need axe by regardless any reason... Then the best ideal pick is "Axe of Ukonvasara". I guess you might get the idea why. Try my build, and give your honest opinion.
@@SylarGKIW in terms of meta, that’s not the way to go about using cyril. none of that stuff utilises what makes him a good unit. also some of the stuff you’re mentioning isn’t true, you’re getting his growths confused, that’s not what the rates are in those classes. you also say something about using axes on him being expected, but neither axes, swords or bows are good on him. his best weapons are lance and bow cause of his combat arts
