Miniature depictions of iconic landmarks fascinate people. Entire parks are built on this theme. I think this is also a similar element in Bonsai that people enjoy.
I have a "miniature world" of rocks and trees in the garden (so no root pruning) and i can lose myself in it. It's a lot of work and my wife says whenever she sees me there i'm just looking at it! How else can i plant a wood in a small garden? Had to move it all when we changed location but as you can imagine that was a pleasure to reorganise, and is now twice the acreage it was! Gardening is so therapootick and bonsai means almost anyone can have a mini world to visit! Thanks for doing these lovely films
I would add that at the core of our humanity is an incredible amount of creativity that bonsai lends so very well to. The creative possibilities are astronomical which seems so appropriate coming from ‘stardust’ beings.
Just been gifted your Bonsai Masterclass. I much appreciate your autograph in it and am looking forward to reading it, Wishing all at Herons a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
This is only stuff I've picked up watching RUclips so, pinch of salt... some people get stuck in daily survival rather than making long term plans, this often happens after unmanaged trauma. Horses, dogs, trees, so animal and tree care, give people the ability to 1: as you mentioned- be in the moment, focused, untroubled by the usual turmoil. 2: more importantly, it gives people the ability to look to tomorrow with hope, as they have a long term project they are invested in. 3: a sense of responsibility, to be needed by a tree or an animal is incredibly valuable to the human soul ❤ all this helps the mind break away from daily survival and helps people flourish in a more healthy way: with tomorrow in mind Merry Christmas Peter and all the team 🙏
Good to listen to you both talking bonsai, going deeper into the art form, I found it interesting that you both approach bonsai from different angles one gets the most enjoyment from the continual caring of the trees and one gets the most pleasure from the art of creating the bonsai and has little interest in the continual upkeep of the bonsai once it is finished. Thank you Peter, Happy Christmas to you all at Herons and a successful 2025.
Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year to you all at Heron’s. Thank you Peter for all your wonderful videos your philosophy and your love and passion you put into all your trees.
I think a large part of the fascination with bonsai is ignorance, the not-knowing of the process and care. People also assume there's a very large mystical and cultural aspect to the art I think because you rarely see masters of this in the west, though we're all familiar with what bonsai is.
The "inherent" attraction, appreciation, and admiration of things in nature is our spirit, our soul's, recognition of our Father's hand of creation and our desire to replicate or be immersed in these things are our soul's longing to be with Him again. Even those who do not believe, or even deny His existence, experience this. It's not the creation but the Creator that our spirits see and want to be "in touch" with. Merry Christmas my friends and may God continue to bless you with His revelations of Himself. Matthew 1:21 "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. " ✝️🇺🇲🙏👍
What a gift for us in a Christmas Day. Wonderful conversation with two genius. Merry Christmas to all of you!!🎄☃️🎅

Yes indeed. Everyone has a bit of the divine spirit in them which makes them creative.
