      @True Observation I am not sure that you can back up women being compared to animals by Muhammad PBUH with anything authentic. The concept of a caretaker is related to chivalry, women can work in islam and they can consent to sexual intercourse. I am a muslim woman and I feel empowered by Islam, I am not a sex slave. My culture can oppress me but my religion does not.

    Thank you Nouman for all your efforts.

    • @redmaple8304
      @redmaple8304 7 лет назад +1

      You going to raise your sons to be like Muhammad? Muhammad hit his wife Aisha and laughed when Abu Bakr smacked his wives Aisha and Hafsa. -Sahih Muslim 4:2127 and 9:3506. Going to raise your sons to look down upon women as having half the worth of a man, who can rape their wife because there is no such thing as spousal rape?

    • @mohammadrizwaan1890
      @mohammadrizwaan1890 6 лет назад +20

      You referenced 2 hadiths, the forst one 4:2127, The prophet here is not trying to harm aiesha or discipline her, the hadith clearly displays that Aiesha was simply playing and following the prophet and that is why it is narrated by her in sahih muslim
      Aisha reported:
      مَا ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَادِمًا لَهُ وَلَا امْرَأَةً وَلَا ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ شَيْئًا
      The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not strike a servant or a woman, and he never struck anything with his hand.
      Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2328, Grade: Sahih
      With the second source, The porphet i believe laughed at the spanking khaadiga's daughter recieved when he the prophet asked for money, so there was simply confusion here, Abu Bakr thought the daughter was asking for money, however she wasn't so it was a you could call a harsh joke, btw a slap to the neck is similar to when a mate slaps you on the back as tough love or whatever.
      Also the prophet asked both Abu Bakr and Umar to be kind with their daughters.
      A husband no where in islam can force himself on his wife. Pleases show me where you get this absurd claim.

      @@redmaple8304 Twins equate to two no? Women are the twins halves of men, doesn't two halves equal one? Men and woman are equal in the eyes of Allah but are created differently.

    • @redmaple3727
      @redmaple3727 6 лет назад

      Well, it doesn't matter because your sacred Koran says wife beating is permissible in Koan 4,34. I quoted Sahih Hadiths too. Another Sahih Hadith shows that Aisha said she has not seen so much suffering as the believing women when Aiha saw a girl beaten green, and instead of Muhammad admonishing her husband for doing so, he told her to go back to him.
      Koran 2:223, where it talks about a woman being like land that he can have when and how he wants. And the Sharia Manual, Reliance of the Traveller, which is upheld by the prestigious Sunni University Al Azhar mentions that part of the marriage contract is to provide sex for your husband so even if she don't want to.
      And you don't respect women, even if you say a smack is okay. What part of no physical violence on a women do you not understad, Coward? Poor excuse.

    • @redmaple3727
      @redmaple3727 6 лет назад +1

      Ulfah, what are you talking about, twins? The relationship of a man and womn as dictated in the Koran and by the words of Muhammad is that women is half the worth of a man, that their testiomny is half that of a man's and that she lacks intelligence and religion. Men and Women are only judged as equal on the day of judgement.

    Finding this video means so much to me in so many levels. 3 years ago when I was 14 my dad would use this specific aiya to tell me how when I marry I need to be submissive to my husband, would translate the قوامون to men are superior and use that to reflect his relationship with my mother and how she fails as a Muslim women because she wanted a divorce. I was 14 and I didn't think about searching it up and making sure of what the meaning is behind it and took my father's word starting to doubt my religion and faith because of how he would talk terribly of my mother and use this to further his toxic point so we think that my mother was this horrible person and he was right to go live with him.

    Thank you for your excellent lecture on this ayah, in which I found an extraordinary whole beauty reconciling mind and heart, feeling and reason.
    I also noticed where Allah said "Wa'dribouhonnah...", I don't believe that Allah means "hit them...". This word has many derivatives and meanings and its usage depends a lot on the context. I believe a simple and logical interpretation here in this ayah would mean "to withdraw from them and go on strike to talk to them, respond, listen, etc", until they admit their actions and sincerely ask for an apology. And Allah knows best. Thank you.

    Shukran Ustadh Nouman. This is so true, in today's modern society, many men expect the woman to contribute half towards the expenses of the home, food, children, education, transport, etc. And in addition tgey expect the woman to take care of herself. May Muslim men listen & accept the truth & be guided to treat women with justice, as the Quran explain it. May the mothers of sons guide them to treat their wives with kindness Insha Allah.

      What exactly does ISNA do as an organization ??? As a Muslim growing up in the US for over 20 years...I find it hard to find any personal impact ISNA has provided for me. I think the problem resides within the lack of traditional scholarship ISNA'S board consists of. We need a team of leaders with refined souls to lead the Muslims of America. And i dont really see that with ISNA. Most people on the board try to comform with American values whilst leaving Islamic values. We are facing an identity chrisis as Muslims living in America...and ISNA is confusing the identities of many American Muslims. Id argue ICNA is doing much better work than ISNA is with a smaller team and following. What are your thoughts!??!

    This is just beautiful,
    I’ve always found the word قوام fascinating, it does come from قام, to stand or قائم, the standing. It’s to do with rising up for something and is relative to family. If you’ve noticed in family, the woman is the nurturer and care taker and this comes with a consequence, the maintenance and finance of the family.
    This is default for a healthy fair society. It doesn’t mean a woman can’t rise up to her aspirations, it’s a basic standard to be applied regardless سبحان الله. A woman has no option but to do both parts in western societies with minimal ‘welfare’ care and even that’s becoming scarce now.
    It’s not equality but insane productive musculine obsession with superficial success and cross country competition and world domination. حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل

Yes a wife should treat her husband's parents with respect but she is not obliged to obey them or serve them. She is responsible obeying her husband and for taking care of her husband and children.
