I had 6 treatments last Summer and it did a good job. But a year later a spot showed up and he took care of it by burning it. I need the BCG maintenance program but can’t get it due to a frigging shortage of the drug and my urologist says the chemo is less than half as effective. So I’m scheduled to do a scope every 3 months so he can review and burn any new spots. If he still can’t get the BCG next month when I go I’m going to get a 2nd opinion. I contacted MD Anderson and they have it but I’d rather take a beaten than get in all that chaos. But will do what I have to.

How well does this treatment work when patients have difficultly holding their urine do to prostate issues? What sort of changes/alterations are done to ensure the patient can hold the medicine for the necessary amount of time?

In the BCG treatment, is the bladder fully filled with BCG, or is it like someone told me only 50 ml plus some saline solution is instilled?
