Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is an immunotherapy drug used to treat high grade, non muscle invasive bladder cancer. These tumours are sitting on the bladder lining but are not invading the muscle. They have the potential to spread if left untreated.
BGC is a milder form of the live bacterium that causes tuberculosis. It is given directly into the bladder (intravesical), via a catheter.
