There is very little on youtube that beats watching you do runs on Jupiter. What an epic day in the mountains. Thank you for always keeping the stoke flame burning. Lets go!
Simply extraordinary...creamy conditions in November and your skiing while filming and the editing...you make it look easy and it isn't. Congrats dude!
Thank you! I love your videos because I see so many places I've skied. I first did Jupiter 30 yrs ago before I knew how to ski well, never forget when the lift operator ask if I saw the sign, too late I was on my way up. I was shaking like a leaf on a tree It was so exciting and I flalled my way down thank God for powder! Five yrs later I nailed it.
Yo sorry to hear about the heater. I'm on the road a lot in my van and understand that stress is real. Definitely appreciate the hard work that goes into getting those solo-shots of you hiking up to Jupiter! Nice save on the entrance to West Face as you got a feel for the snow. Fresh snow on Dead Tree looked amazing. Such a sick zone, great job capturing the day.
thanks so much for watching andreas. appreciate all the feedback. hopefully i can get the heater up and running this week and we can return to chasing snow.
Wow - Blew right past the 25K barrier!!! Congrats my brother! - 30K by 2023!!! You're getting some amazing cinematography in for us viewers... Zipline is such an assume company, I can imagine the Customer Service is outstanding based on the way they take care of you!!! Ready to see that 75+ days on hill recorded!!! You're almost 1/3 of the way there and November is not finished!!!
The start of this season has been awesome! We have gotten good snow over here in Colorado, but Utah seems to be even better! Couldn't have dreamed of a better start to the season
This is exactly why you go to the gym and exercise as much as possible. Could you imagine doing all those hikes if you were not in shape? Another great video. Thanks Lucas.
loved the vid lucas! it was so cool how you almost had it all to yourself. Thank you so much for all the work you put into these videos and the risks you take to get the right shots! hope the pizza treated you well yesterday and whoever left it for you is a legend!
Another epic video dude, I can't wait to hit the slopes in January, you keep the mountain spirit flowing in me in the meantime. Just about to start a 12 hour nightshift as a Paramedic and this was just the hit I needed pre-shift, thank you and happy thanksgiving.
That last run looked like the best one! It’d be cool to see your ski day on strava or something to see like that. Seeing some of the data for the uphills and the downhills is always fun at the end of the day.
So so sick!!! Loved the high view you got on the second hike. Great perspective! Man Lucas I love the giddiness you get. I know that feeling so well, Its awesome 😂. Regarding Luna, at least you are home when the heater decided to crap out! On a side note, if you need to unload a set of those zipline goggles I’m here to help lol!!! Keep livin the stoke!
The definition of working for your turns. That looked unbelievable, especially for November! Hope you get your heater fixed! The water in my pipes froze last week (fortunately everything's fine now) so I totally understand your stresses and all the "behind the scenes" stuff you mentioned at the beginning of the vid.
@@LucasCatania17 Appreciate you. I blew a fuse for my pump but no damage to the pipes fortunately. I bought some trace heat cables so I can get back to chasing pow in those negative degree temp nights ⛷️💪
Dig your attitude and insight with the heater! It will be taken care of shortly! Dead Tree and War Zone looked amazing! Yewwwww 🤘 What a November full of skiing ⛷ Stoked for you bro and appreciation from your Stoke Squad ... Let’s Goooo
1st of all pizza for breakfast freaking epic. Multi angle footage of Jupiter bowl just fabulous. Thank you for Vail resorts for actually running the Thaine chair lift this year. Greatness as always..JK out..IPA time😎
You’re using the same diesel for your heater that you’re using in Luna(?)! Luna is using a greater volume, albeit a larger filter, of fuel as well!! Although this may be, I don’t know, a common issue with diesel heaters that the filters need regular, more frequent, maintenance. However, you may want to take note of where you generally purchase your fuel and research if anyone else has experience issues with fuel quality (why it helps to keep receipts). I discovered, yesterday in fact, that a rural fueling station that I occasionally stop at, mostly on my bike, has been noted for water in fuel issues (ground water/leaky old tanks/condensation?). This peaked my concerns since, on a ski trip to Killington, VT, our 73 VW Super Beatle had to be towed, warmed and drained due to water in the fuel way back in the late 1970’s. Sediment in older tanks with poorly maintained filtration is also a possibility at some of the older facilities. Most don’t even replace receipt tapes when they run out!
@@LucasCatania17 hopefully 🙏🏻 it’s just a routine maintenance (filter) issue. I’m interested because I like the design of these vehicle fueled heaters and hope to one day do the same.
Reminds me of my final trip from last season, last day there and an absolute pow day with not many people on the mountain. "body said no more, mind said feed meeee 😈"
Skied PC all week with my 10 year old son, who was just selected to the PC alpine team. One of the best weeks of my life sharing the stoke with by boy! Keep the videos coming ❤ ⛷
so the hiking, with camera placement, backtracking, hiking, going back for camera - takes probably 2.5 times as long? Fantastic footage, but you need an assistant to work for you, guessing if you asked you'd get 100 applicants by nightfall...btw - still digesting the Max in front of your face, trying to figure out a way to advise you to mount it somewhere better- another great video, thanks
it definitely adds a lot of extra time throughout the day haha but i think theres a lot of merit showing people you can do it all yourself! not sure if an assistant would work out all the time haha
So sick - going to Park City for the first time beginning of January. Comfortable on all blacks and some doubles at Breck when I go, do you think the ratings are comparable or will I be good on most doubles at Park City? Love the videos been getting me super hype!
Lucas, I noticed you mounted the max lower and in front of your goggles. How do you like it while skiing? Is it tough to see? Also, what do you think of that footage vs the normal helmet pov?
it can be a little difficult to see. i find myself having to look below the camera a bit. but i think it is the best view by far. the helmet pov always has the top of the helmet showing in it and that annoys me so much so ive switched to the eye cam 100% now
I have a question. This season will be my first with a lift pass and as a result I usually only ski once a year. In the last year however, I have learned to skateboard so naturally I have been looking into snow boarding. I also want to focus on park, doing box’s and rails. I own a pair of racing skis, that would not be ideal for this. Should I get a snowboard?
haha just getting lucky man! and exactly - it has a lot more grip than sugar but not to the point where it feels heavy. its a really fun type of snow to ski!
A drone would stay in front of you for walking shots or follow you with a remote in your pocket. That way you could time pole plants and not mess with your rhythm. They’re quite small now. Nice editing - cheers from Bethlehem PA.
