  • All Scripture is God-breathed. Because it is the very Word of our Creator, the Bible has final authority over both the church and the individual Christian. In this session, Alistair Begg looks at the authority and reliability of Scripture as the Word of God.

Glory to be to God , that was wonderfully thought provoking unfettered and precise account of the state of western culture all the while stating the glorious reasons why the scriptures are self evident that they are the Word of God and quite capable on their own to show the infallible evidence of the hand of God.
Along with this faith expanding view of the Word of God you have given direction, a coarse for action in my new found faith as well I’m sure in those with a more mature belief.
Thank you, thank you and may God keep and bless you. 🙏🏻

Great thought - Paul’s letters to Timothy; he gives his affection care for him - in so many words, I must go, son, don’t drop the ball. To hear the Word of God. Another Master, Pastor Begg. I will, as Paul instructs Timothy, continue in my belief and faith. The inerrancy of Scripture - on what authority do I believe - The word of God is living. The Bible understands me. Witness of scripture to itself - there can be no Higher Authority. Could I ever believe less, Jesus believed this Book. What has gone wrong? Coming up with meanings on our own? Who am I, what am I? How did we get to absurd nonsense - more than 2 genders?! Squeezed together in subways, not talking to each other. Greta Thunberg - an avatar traveling the world with this climatology! Climate theology has placed as the final authority to Judge us. No Redemption - No Sin - changed!!! Revise the scripture❗️The little denials eventually unrighteous. The authority of Scripture must stay is what Paul wrote to Timothy. Men, by the word of God, reclaim this Truth in the collapse of culture, confused church. Paul says keep your head, this, the Word of God. Word, work Spirit of God. Not the light, bear witness to it!!! Love the Bible - Truth, and your adherence to it, endure the hardship. Go tell the Truth. Van Gogh heard Spurgeon preach. Jesus raises up more, even greater. The infallible Truth of the Scripture. Every Jot and Tittle. The Scripture cannot be broken. The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen

...correcting the closed captioning in this location: at 16 minutes in: (word for word spoken is this, not what the CC shows:.... it is "to Tomothy, too.... not Germany Jew) Why was that so crucial, and why is it so crucial? If Timothy were to lose confidence in the truth, in the power, in the relevance of Scripture, then there would be nothing for him to pass to faithful men, to Timothy, too, who would then in turn be enabled to teach others also .If he were to lose confidence in this, then there would be nobody who would be complete and equipped because the equipping and the completion and the fulfillment of these things is grounded in the Scriptures themselves.

It is never a sin to enjoy things in life, it becomes a sin when your mind is populated by only those things. If all day you can only think of getting home to watch TV and can't wait for that moment, or, to admire your collections, It then becomes a sin and an Idol. Exodus 20:3 .

If your father told you he fulfilled every traffic law and never broke one. Would that mean you can now break them? Once the law is fulfilled, their children can now break them all?
Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5
The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1
The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13
and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart.
So Jesus kept the Ten Commandments, now we can break them all? Aren't we Crucifying Him again?
It is when we see how Jesus kept the Ten Commandments in Deut.6:8-9 that we can now see how to 'keep' His word, The Sermon on the Mount. If you love Him keep His word as He kept His Father's. The Words The Father speaks, The Son speaks, is Spirit, their breath. Can you hear Him?
Just because you fulfill a law, would you want your child to break all that you fulfilled? Is Jesus our example or excuse to sin?

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9........ Yes, Jesus is the lamb of God, the offering sacrificed once for all - his blood poured out for us, silencing the accuser. We are humble, yet confident, knowing that our life is now hidden in Christ. We must remain steadfast in our faith, allowing God's word to wash over us in sanctification, allowing His word to guide us away from sin as a lamp unto our feet keeps us on the narrow path. God bless.

What do you think about the Hebrew Israelite view that God still wants us to follow the law? I know someone who believes that and she used the "no jot or title shall pass away" verse to support her "keeping the entirety of the law" perspective. I honestly don't know how to respond.

      @@prayunceasingly2029 No one
is going to keep the whole law from the Bible, U.S.A or any nation. Not all the laws apply to one person. We find that which is good, and many find the Holy Bible good, then if we apply as much good to our own life, we become a better person. If Christians would give as much reverence to the O.T. and Prophets as they do the N.T. this world would be a better place.

where I gather on Sunday, the Sunday preacher made a comment that Jesus "redefined" the law. What do you guys think about that? My first thought, is that Jesus came to fulfill the law. Is there a danger in saying that Jesus came to redefine the law? God bless.

I totally agree, and do in fact, read my bible; was hoping a fellow brother or sister in Christ, might be able to provide some confirmation. "redefining" the law indicates that it needs to be changed, however, the law is perfect- it is mankind who is inherently sinful. Jesus fulfilled the good law that nobody could adhere to, confirming His sinless righteousness. Jesus had to have fulfilled the law to truly be the lamb of God: He who was without sin, was made to be sin, so that He might become the righteousness of God.

Well, the Old Testament says do not commit adultery. Jesus said, if you even look with lust, you’ve committed adultery. Hate is equaled to murder within ones heart. That changes the game doesn’t it? He actually made the Law even tougher, proving even more why we need a savior from it. No?

    • @Christian-vq8rd
      @Christian-vq8rd 5 лет назад +5

@@joshuaborum4946 Not really. He explained what it's supposed to mean but had been externalized by many. It's not as if God just wanted people to not outwardly commit adultery yet was fine with lust raging in ones heart, or seething with anger yet not doing the deed of murder being all God commanded in the Decalogue. Look at the Psalms. People knew God wanted a pure heart. That had largely been overlooked and Jesus is speaking to that. He's not making the law stricter, but challenging people's weak interpretations that allowed them to live hypocritical lives.

I believe the speaker is sincere, but wrong. He is faithful with little and will, then, receive his reward. But there is much greater to be understood.
Anyone who walks by the Holy Spirit of love cannot sin. This is exactly the message of the sermon on the mount given by Jesus. His message was that obeying the law was not enough. That a new heart was needed to be placed in man through the Holy Spirit; not committing adultery was not enough, though it fulfilled righteousness of the law, not looking on a woman with lust, only accomplished by walking in the Holy Spirit, is the only way to fulfill the righteousness of God. The speaker should read the sermon on the mount again because he missed it.

@@marius-9333 In the 'Sermon on the Mount' here, Jesus is speaking to Israelites who were under the Old Covenant law. What Jesus was conveying to them was that, at his coming, keeping the law is not sufficient for justification before God. He quoted examples of the precepts of the law with the addendum that a higher standard has arrived. A standard derived by faith in him that results in the Spirit residing in all who believe to the outworking of righteousness.
While making it plain to them that the law is not to be anulled, but rather fulfilled in the body of Christ, the Lamb of God, the one true sacrifice that all the law and the sacrifices pointed too, as shadows of the real thing that was to come and was the meaning of "until all is fulfilled". It was fulfilled at Jesus crucifiction and resurrection. "It is finished".
