RUclipsrs are a special breed, as they can detect the smallest leak or vibration or . . . Man, you guys are good! They caught both a leaky water pump and a weeping valve cover. I had to go back and watch to confirm. Never again will I doubt the eyes of the internet, et al. lol
419 cubic inches.... 1 cube away from being the most lit V8 on earth
😄✊
Boxcar The Husky it would consume a lot of fuel!
@@tomconner9695 No, it would run on weed. The output will be high as fuck.
WTF are u guys all talking about?
Running on weed? Is that code for E85???
Awesome stuff, there is something special about a nice N/A stroker on a street car.
700hp on pump 98 is very impressive too.
Yeah but where do they sell 98 pump? Best we can get is 93?
@@canabox7112 Different measurment. Aussie 98=USA 93
Not really
@@canabox7112 dumb dumb
The heads alone are gorgeous, the ports are huge.
I love LS engines so much. I have an LM7 in my Silverado that I'm getting ready to do work to. My Dad also has an LS3 in his '68 Camaro that is well built. I think they're the best family of engines ever produced
LS is crap
@@ricktotz4078 what Engine you suggest
He rolls a hyundai. probably@@Abdurrahmanabdrrahman
I'm using Mast 650/650 LS7's stock CID in 2 of my cars now. Runs great on the street, no issues.
Outside of the stroked crank, I have the same setup running 610 on e85
Amazing, performance and technology has come so far!
Heads are the key to power and yall got that one dialed in pretty good. With a strong valve train that motor would last a long time to boot.
Good job and the best parts where put in compstar etc, I'm sure you guys with the negative comments are going to put your engine up on RUclips and show us your work ?
700HP is quite a good number for the displacement. The GM LSX 454 I think is only 770HP and it has 13:1 compression.
The LSX454 is 620-650, the LSX454R is 770 and that's with a carb
Nothing in the world like a sound of V8, even a Ferrari engine soung good, But a V8 no one like that.
Great job. 1.46ft/lbs per CID. Much the same as my LS3s make. Great motors. Working on trying to make more next time.
its how the dyno works mate they all open the throttle wide as and the dyno is retarding it till they hit the space bar and then it revs up to the limiter. Thats how they measure how hp/tq it has, hope that helps
-beautiful larry perkins spec heads, v impressive small block...
- checkin out that 20B vid now
I thought Richard Holdner was going to jump out and say "Let's make some noise!!!!"
I tried it with Stellamara Prituri Se Planinata (NiT GriT Remix) NiT GriT. I works well, I'm sure with your editing talents with these exceptional videos you guys would surprise even yourselves! Keep up the great work
A while back someone built a 5.7 HEMI for the engine masters competition that made 700 hp on pump gas with a carburetor.
No they didnt
I wonder if it had to have an O2 sensor for every cylinder to tune it to 700HP? Would E85 do better? Love the sound of a naturally aspirated V8.
tonkatoytruck e85 in an na application is pointless unless the compression ratio is over the 12:1 mark. This motor could probably be safe on 91with out taking any timing out.
Defiantly going LS in my 96 SS impala.. Can't wait..
Awesome LS. (ignoring all the haters in comment section)
^ You're an idiot. They slapped the valve covers and hoses on to do quick dyno pulls, they clearly didn't bother taking time to attach them properly. My LS3 has over 105k miles making ~575hp with simple long tube headers, and a aftermarket spec'd camshaft. Has no reliability issues and makes a shit load of torque while spinning to 7,000 rpms for literally ~$1,200 in brand new parts mods.
^ what this fanboy is trying to say is if its not German he thinks its trash,
That's fine, enjoy your straight 6's and V12's and I'll enjoy all kinds of engines and layouts from Honda's 4-bangers, to LS V8's, to Lamborghini V10's and 12's. Meanwhile you can keep walking around screaming "STRAIGHT 6 OR V12 OR DIE" and putt around in your 130hp straight 6 talking shit to 700hp V8's. Fuck outa here.
Really? That's odd I've seen some pretty powerful 4-bangers. Lmk when a straight 6 BMW or V12 makes 1100+ horsepower naturally aspirated. Then I'll be impressed, until then #LSswaptheworld
Don't feed the trolls cause that's all John is doing...trolling plus showing us just how jealous and butthurt he is over the LS engines....one of the best most reliable costing a fraction of what a BMW 6 would cost to make comparable power....but yes in your defense the straight 6 has one thing going for it...it's balanced...primarily AND secondardsilly...HEHEHEHEHE
I don't blame you John lmao...if I was anything but a GM guy I would be just as jealous and butthurt AF making up lame excuses like "it leaked oil and coolant after 3 mins of running....I'm done with LS engines" to AAAAGGGHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...I can't believe you said that buddy.
Excuse me John...do you have any Gray Poupon LMFAO...my BMW is low on earl...douche bag.
^ Oh for sure, 100% troll. Mention 1100 horsepower naturally aspirated and he brings up a Lancia boosted to 5 bar (~73psi).
Like what kind of ass backwards logic brings naturally aspirated argument of i6 & v12 BMW's to a boosted Lancia Delta which made less horsepower than many Honda 4 bangers on 73psi of boost. LOL
Keep enjoying that 130hp I6 John, lmk how many races you win in it!
Pretty cool fab work. Should put down around 600 whp.
What size are the fuel injectors?
Nice torque curve. She's a screamer.
Cam specs?
This is so beautiful AND IT’S NATURALLY ASPIRATED. (I wish you guys would mention that it was n/a though)
That's exactly what "all motor" means
Im hearing piston skirt clatter? Due to the overstroked engine bore maybe?
Love watching these high dollar machines do work
Don’t know of too many 98-octane street pump gas stations .... but love it anyway.
If you live in the states you would refer to it as 93 AKI.
Beautiful engine, nice work, oil leak from rocker cover gasket at 3:10?
Water coming off the electric pump.
good eye
At 2:36 there is oil coming from the valve cover though
Pyros on the headers...serious tuning or is he going to put a bottle on it.?
I am assuming that the octane is higher than 98 because 419 will not come with this number on a hydraulic cam.I think the compression of the pistons exceeds 13.1 .
Somewhat partna.
The dyno puts load on the engine, you set a rpm to start the readings and then press space. Per say 3k to 7k and it becomes a more steady and readable power curve
I’m looking for a similar NA config but with a custom billet LS7 w/924 deck with a raised 55mm cam position.
Solid number for no boost or, nitrous on pump gas.
Standard for a correct MAX effort NA even for SBE. That’s about 550-570 to the tire
This isn't just any LS3...it's an Aussie rules LS3!!!!😎😎😎
hydraulic roller camshaft sweet I wold like to know what's how much one cost need to get one for my self
Pretty good numbers from a small engine!
The heads are around $4700 assembled.
Big money
I have a 2004 GTO with the Texas speed record holding LS1 bottom end package and made 470rwh and 420rwt but with the Fast LSXR 102mm intake, Nick Williams 102mm TB and 100mm LS7 GM MAF I can't get it to idle right two different tuners. sucks. Fast and loud though.
Where do you find 98 octane pump gas? Most I've seen is 93.
Not in America..
Aussie 98 is roughly equal to US 93. Just different calculation method
R+M/2 in the USA
AUS is just R (research derived)
Bingo - AKI vs RON ratings.
SGTJDerek up the street at my local gas stations you most don't stay in texas
I don't understand why its leaking oil? is it wrong for me to think that shouldn't be happening?
That would be a monster!
I want one. Hell I want a few!
I am basing that off the 6L80e bing around as efficient as the 4L60 and 4L80, it could be better, it could be worse, I dunno. There are quite a few variables but its not all about the peak number at the wheels, a friend of mine lost over 20hp at the wheels when he went from a manual to an auto with a high-stall but gained over half a second on the strip.
hmm the factory L3 Heads flow enough to not need cnc porting for that much horspower, maybe more cubic inches and a carb set up would make as much
What is the octane equivalent in the states? I'm guessing 93 which isn't available where I'm at
98ron is basically 93aki yes.
Perfect audio track.
Those 179 dislikes most be ford fans.
So much want this ls3....
Nope. The LS are a great engine. A Windsor with similar heads will do the same and they do. It's not a ford thing, they're just knobs that don't appreciate good engineering.
Ford fans is right .THAT'S because this engine has all of Ford's ideas applied in one application such as cross bolted mains ,thrust bearing on center main .symmetrical valve's, same bolt pattern on heads .imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Good Pull .Did I Hear someone knocking? in the last pull take care thank you
02:36 oil leaks in the valve cover
Could be worse spots..lol
What the hell happened? Looked like it sucked the caps in
Did you guys do the 5 axis conversion yourself? Looks good if so .
see the oil leaking out of the valve cover at 2:39?
Yep gr8 eye pissed out
Not a leaky valve cover. It's a open bung for a catch can that they didn't plug first.
Vander615 Gaming happens a lot when you’re trying to squeeze all the tuning you can into the least expensive time frame, two three engines in a few hours isn’t outrageous or even amazing, notworthy, sure, that’s fair, thats why Space Launches do a countdown, and abort launches more than not, way more!
@@tomconner9695 agreement on that perfection can cause strains in other areas.
2:38 head cover caps start to leak oil :/
Joe al joe good eye!
I'm sure they have a technical reason for that...
I saw that myself hmmmm
Joe al joe Yeah, this is the engines first time out and I'm sure they're working out the bugs. At least it held together. The rest is trivial.
+Joe al joe i also saw the water pump leaking
at around 2:38 oil begins seeping out of what appears to be some kinda plug in the passenger valve cover what up w that?
That is the breather ...
have a look at '50th 427 engine' , this is my ute, it has this sort of power and a very similar build. made a best of 398kw (525hp) at the wheels through a manual... the vid is 391 but that wasnt the best pass. yes the ls engines are incredible, I've been driving it around for a few months now and fuel eccon is about the same as standard. Driveability is great, and when you stand on it the power is rediculous, revs very fast and very free..
***** Way to show you don't belong on a car/engine video
Compression ratio? Duration/lift cam?
I don't think I post that when the CNC LS3 heads perform just as good..

Love the car love this video gave me some ideas. Wish there was a fucking cam pak for my c63 though
Silly question wheres the mass air flow sensor? Is it somehow built into the dyno? And when you do a tune wont this affect the tune if the motor goes into a car that will be using a MAF?
It's probably using a MAP sensor , so it measures pressure inside the manifold, like the honda civics
Oh I did not think about that. Maybe a absolute pressure sensor very well could be the answer. I remember doing MAF conversions on Fox Body Mustangs back in my day vs the speed density. LOL
Most people now a day use MAP sensor for performance application, just for the reasons that you don't have to worry that much abt a boost leaks and the position where ur maf is placed.
@scraech Being a speed density setup, there is no MAF.
Want this in my Genesis Coupe. Sorry but love the front to rear weight ratio and it's platform. Just cheaper to go with a mighty LS over buying a 06 or newer Vette in Canada. That or a new 2018 Camaro 2SS 1LE.
How much would this cost approximately if u had an ls3 already
98 octane? Afraid that street motor won't be seeing any street use in my state :( Won't find anything but 91 at the pumps here Sounds awesome though!
it very clearly says RON. that isn't the U.S standard
+Mike Labonte don't some states use Ron gas. or go head to vp they have higher grade gasoline along with racegas. my state uses 93 octane
+rayden111966 You can get e85 all over now which is what most people do now because it has a lot of benefit over regular gas. A few are that it burns cleaner, burns at much lower temperatures, and class 1 e85 is 105 octane.
yes,.......anyone can go buy a drum of c16 of VP but that isnt readily available. e85 can get to 8.33:1 AFR lol and at 2.70 ish a gallon, and the pumps are everywhere now.
there's places that sell it everywhere
I could imagine the power I got a LS1 and kicks hard . wouldn't mind this on ls3 on my truck
How much does a motor like this one cost?
What size chambers are on those heads to give those dished pistons 11.7:1 compression? 50cc
cost to build ? wanna put this in my EH sedan ;)
Bad ass, Who built the motor?
I am so getting the visa but man it sounds like it needs tuning its lagging 1 to 2 seconds , that engine should love the rev , the ls is the only engine I would build or buy . The guy that thought of its many newer designs over the old sbc is a smart dude .
TheMonkeyseeker
Engine isn't lagging. The dyno controls how fast the engine can rev up.
i like the valve covers alot
Wonder what compression its at and how much they milled those heads?
Just 1 more cubic inch! Think of it? The 420 ci 6.9 L LS Swap! Sell them to Chevy blazer guys!

i need help figuring out what cam and heads for my 2010 camero2ssl99 motor Iplease help also why doors my iat gauge read in the red zone after I got it tunned
Nice!! Nice work brother!! Love it
Now thats a wild build, do want
This just shows that these LS3 heads don't really make more power than a good set of the older cathedral style heads.
I have a set from AFR making the same power on a 416 but through a much smaller runner. 235cc vs 280cc for this LS3 head.
This means better throttle response and quicker acceleration if all else is equal.
And crazy torque off idle all the way to the red line.
Everyone thinks that LS3 heads are the bee's knees of heads but they are not especially the GM versions. From a head designers standpoint they are not the best design and are really designed for a bore size of 4.125 for optimum results due to valve shrouding.
The top 20 fastest cars NA run ls7 style heads with 5 cathedrals in there too.
In particular the trickflow 245 head.
Can I please please please know the specs on this monsters cam? This thing just doesnt make sense! What do you Aussies know what we dont??
Why was that thing bleeding oil from the valve covers in front?
That's a cool little 550whp
More like 599whp.
Jesus what shitty trans and dif are you running to lose 150 hp? Lmao
Probably around 550wheel through a big stalled th400 th400. Easy 9's on 100 octane or e85. Impressive for Hydraulic roller. Stroked Windsors need big solid roller and high compression to make this power, unless its a Clevor.
It’s 705 wheel
@@111kanwarIncorrect. It says 705hp on engine dyno.
I'd like to build something similar maybe lower compression 10.9 on 92octane is all I can get unless I can go e85. Will a 11.5 compression detune to run on 91 if that's all I have? Some aftermarket ECU will run three programs 1 for 91, e85, 100 race gas. That way if all I can get is pump gas maybe only 550hp e85 700hp and 100 650hp.
Worry less about static compression and more about dynamic, which you can control with the cam profile.
Nice
I like the Polyspheric heads the design looks a little familiar,i think I have seen this used by someone about 59 years ago.i think that Mercedes owns them now and the make heeps as well as the coronet sedan.
How is something that runs on 98 octane "street"? Where can you buy 98? Can you take this on a cross country drive? I know plenty of gas stations that think 89 octane is "Premium".
98 is the same as US spec 93 octane.
Fullboost Weird. So it is 98 what? Units?
Its measured as 98-RON. US spec fuel is measured in AKI.
That's one bad ass Ford!

Knock knock knock knock knock knock

great video
Hi I noticed what I believe to be a slight bit of spark knock from your dyno pull at the beginning of the video. granted my engine isn't running 98 octane nor pushing 700 hp but w/ 85 octane my stock 5.3 also does a slight bit of spark knock (pre ign) in the upper revs range is this normal GM appears to believe so according to TSB but I'm wondering from your end can the small amount of persistent spark knock in upper rev range ruin a piston/engine?
check your timing, and use 93
+GoofyDaGoofGoofTV mate in Australia we use 98 from the pump
+GoofyDaGoofGoofTV my engines stock though I think the blow by is causing the ping.

Nice, flat torque curve. So a typical in-car installation, with air filter and MAF is more like 670 bhp? Why don't you show start-up and idle?
im curious.... would this handle a 200 shot?

Last I checked that was supposed to be the engine for the upcoming 6th gen z28 before chevy put a delaying halt on the Camaro and it's engine such a shame something like that could very well out class the hellcat redeye and give the gt500 a real battle for dominance
nice lil motor
Could this set up be used a daily driver Silverado?
charlote66 no im sure it has high compression and isnt emmisions friendly lol
High compression yields a cleaner burn... You would be surprised what a good catalytic converter can do. Plus you can also tune around emissions.
whambodius lmao you clearly dont understand cars. Higher compression means you're burning more fuel. Meaning your gonna be at the pump more plus if its high compression I'm sure its gonna have a huge lift so thats even more exhaust, no cat is gonna channel all that exhaust. Why do i know that?? because my Charger has the stock headers and im running hhp Spring and retainers and the SRT max , with 40lb injectors and my compression is rn 11:1 opposed to my 10:3:1 stock ratio and i cant pass smog and im constantly at the pump
notmyproblem boi higher compression is simply gaining more energy from the same amount of fuel by getting a bigger bang from it.
notmyproblemboi
Clearly you don't know shit. jubjub is right! You fuck up your car and then tell others what you think as if you know something. With years of hard study you could be a normal dumbass.
There's a couple of other inlet manifolds that could've upped those numbers a little better. Good engine overall though. 👍🏻

Robbo nope. NA the fast is by far the best. The Holley, edelbrock xram and MSD ones are only worth more hp when boosted. The FAST is the best flowing na one period
