For how batteries perform repairs: I believe that when a battery is given to a Titan in the multiplayer, it drains *ALL* of that battery's power for a multitude of functions, the obvious ones being a self-repair system, a shield generator, and some sort of cooling ventilation to help get the core ready to overclock. As for the singleplayer, I'd say that it's pretty much the same, as BT says whenever he is damaged severely that a 'replacement battery is required', it is strongly my belief that the battery is not only to replace one of the three breached ones he has, but it may also be to activate his self-repair system. The obvious guess would be nanites, whatever similar thing that the synthetic pilots use to repair themselves, and if not that, probably some sort of very advanced fire-suppression/regenerative plating mechanisms that are very power-hungry.
This would certainly fit in with what we see in-game; titans only heal when they eat a battery, but perhaps that only means they heal *in a perceptibly fast manner,* and when Cooper n' BT are running around the titan's own generator is pumping power into the self-heal system; but because that power is also going to.. y'know, running around, jumping, sensors, powering an entire humanlike character etc, it's so imperceptible as to be utterly irrelevant in normal gameplay.
I know I'm late to the whole titanfall party but, also keep in mind that when you pull a batter out of a non vanguard titan, such as any of the ones in multiplayer, they don't immediately shutdown, unless its in doomstate. That means that the battery must either give power to the "core", sort of like extra power, which would explain the fact that it can be restored from doomstate, or be more like a little boost. But if it is more power to the core, that would also explain that the red ones do damage, because they overload the system, and why it is so effective to throw a grenade into the battery hole.
Color probably indicates charge level. Yellow batteries are just overcharged! But maybe Titans can handle the power surge and that's why they can come out of a doomed state, because they can use the excess power to repair their power grid?
The reason the regular batteries are green is because they contain a leprechaun running in a hamster wheel.....the yellow one contains a pikachu....DUH!!!!
I feel like the IMC learned lessons from the battery usage of the TF1 era Titans. 1st off the Rechargeable over-shields used back in the 1st probably wrecked havoc on the batteries, creating very unstable powercells. And then once they took any sort of damage these old batteries would reach critical mass in a very short amount of time, resulting in a nuclear explosion much bigger than those seen with the current battery casings. These new casings also allow for battery swapping and refilling with ease. So yeah… IMC is all about safety first
Also when it comes to BT and the Vanguard Titans…I’m thinking the militia is running on much more limited resources than the IMC and can’t afford to give up the rechargeable shields. They were however, able to stabilize everything a bit more because of the newer encased batteries that they got their hands on thanks to the IMC losing a few shipments :)
Still gotta love the fact that 60 ton robots with the power to operate and repair themselves along with being able to shoot and use ability’s like a vortex as an shield, yet they still need a pack of double A’s
Most titans can work without a battery thanks to the mini reactor in there hull but batteries are used to power secondary systems in titanfall 1 the titans relied more on bigger reactors In titanfall 2 the reactors are too small and underpowered to supply power too the shields Note: the second vanguard battery is a system reboot not a AI reboot The vanguard still has a reactor but it is not nearly powerfull enough too supply the vanguard so if the vanguard had no batteries i would remain dormant but not dead So titans are powered by nuclear shit but need more nuclear shit to work well bassicly
K.I.A: Yeah, that never made sense. Considering that Hammond Robotics gave up thier shields for more armor and some utility items seems like bad design. Nothing in the second-generation lineup of Titans allows them any kind of reliable survivability.
Ethan, maybe Hammond Robotics managed to switch tactics: more damage output, less survivability. Most of the space of GEN-1 Titans Core is now occupied by more combat systems (offensive, defensive and utility abilities). Probably, at least... If only Respawm would make MORE LORE, dammit!!!
bluecaptainIT: I could live with that, if the campaign didn't bank one of its main premises on your relationship with your Titan. Considering I self-destruct Titans just to further my Boost abilities is testament to this. BT and the concept of having a relationship between an AI and a human being, with the twist being that he's your personal tank, could have had huge potential. But it was implemented very poorly. In terms of multiplayer balance, it would have been nice to have more ways to acquire batteries (i.e. map objects, destroying certain enemies, ect).
IMO that's not the point, Ethan... the main problem is that we have to _imagine_ how certain things work because they are not depicted at all, like the principle of the batteries (as said in the video, _probably_ nuclear, but not officially confirmed) or why multiplayer Titans do not recharge shields... I hope Respwans implements those things more in Titanfall 3, like a sort of "Frontier-pedia" of Titanfall (similar to the one of BO3 or IW weapons in the latest CoDs). "So... whadda ya think?" ... "Well... I don't write my own comments!" *Bonus if you get the (modified) reference*
@@TheDeltaMoo would make sense because there is a execution where a titan shoots with his gun into the cockpit of another titan and completly destroys him with that
You didn't talk about how batteries are able to repair a titan. You say it like it's a given - but it's not really, it's a power source repairing physical damage. My theory is that each battery also contains nanites capable of repairing damage, and that the G2.0 (amped) battery can use these nanites intelligently to repair damage to the titan's drive core.
When I embark my titan, if at the right angle I can see another battery behind where the pilot sits - Maybe that is like a rechargeable battery for the core that can be recharged/boosted if another battery is inserted
In the story mode, you can put a battery in bt when you have one on your back when you enter him. So my idea is that the batteries you can steal and put in friendly titans are additional
there is like an extra for tf1 where you see the titans being made. it looks like it’s being made out of thin air with a hologram stencil. i think that the battery ends up so power ful that the excess charges up one of those sci fi version 3D printers and when you’re in doomed state it can’t get you out, it needs more power. that’s where the amped battery comes in
One thing to note is that if you look at the shoulder piece of Legion and Legion Prime sort of underneath it’s shoulders you can see that on Legion, there’s a lighting bolt-arrow looking symbol while on Legion Prime there is a nuclear symbol instead. I haven’t found it on any other titans but this might indicate something about batteries or power source of specific Titans.
One theory could be that the energy from the core is somehow holding together the the titan, a sort of second shield, and your doomed state is when all the damage goes directly into your chassis, destroying it permanently
I think the lights on the batteries are an indicator on it’s power level. The green (normal) batteries are at ~100%, the yellow (amped) batteries are above that, at ~200% (numbers are speculative because it hasn’t been stated) so they are far more effective, but also harder to charge because you need to overcharge the battery enough to be effective, but not to a point where it gets too powerful, the red (nuclear) batteries have enough power to be highly unstable and damage the nuclear core, which would trigger the nuclear explosion.
At the last theory,I think it's because The Last Resort used Varguard Class Titan's core technology, but it's not full version, so only the Amped Battery Works.
I think that your health is really just a big shield, and the battery charges it but when you get into the doomed state you titans actual metal has been damaged so you cant normally repair out of that.
I think that the amped batteries act a bit like a heatsink when the titan is in doomed state where it could take the unstable nuclear material out and eject it when a new battery is accepted
They could be RTGs. RTGs use the heat from radioactive decay and use it to generate electricity although modern day RTGs couldn't run a titan. If the batteries in game are rtgs the could be using a material with a high half life but generates more heat which equates to more energy. To explain the 20 percent core increase they could also have battery storages in them. Which dumps the excess energy to do the extra health and core. As far as the red and yellow batteries. The yellow battery could have a material with a even higher radioactive decay, or could be something else entirely. The red battery could be a battery that steals all the electricity in the titan and disbalances the titan nuclear reactor. My best theory is the titan has a internal reactor and the batteries are to assist in the other functions of the titan.
It makes sense that scorch and legion require nuclear cores 1: scorch carys heat them might overheat so there's your flame core 2:legions main camera is under his weapon the predator Canon But if you look at him carefully you'll see be has a top camera there's ur smart core. Scorch: flame core ready!! Legion: smart core is ready!!
-green (normal) battery: powers an energy shield on normal titans; vanguard titans can use them to power self repair, regenerating 1 heathbar, and to stabilize an unstable core (at the start of the campaign bt's systems were damaged and he needed 2 batteries to power his self repair to return fully functional). If removed it causes the loss of the shield if present, or a short circuit that damages the titan or triggers the explosion of the core if the titan is doomed. Boosts the recovery of energy for the titan's core ability by 20%. -yellow (amped) battery: 3x more powerful and advanced than the green one, powers self repair on any titan, regenerating 2 bars of health, stabilizing and unstable core and powering a shield. -red (unstable) battery: so powerful it overcharges and destabilizes the titan's core triggering it's explosion.
I’ve always guessed the metal/armour of the titans don’t act like normal metal so when a battery is added it reforms the entire body of the Titan effectively healing it. The g2 battery has more power or more efficiently uses its own power therefore repairing it out of doomed state
Depending on the colour of the battery depends on how strong it is green gives u sheild and a bit of health yellow can bring u out if dooms tate and can heal 2 bars of health and read is strong enough to give the titan a nuclear explosion so I think the colours vary the strength of the battery
For the green and red actually i have a theory. Let's agree that the green batterys are nuclear in nature than what if the red batterry are actually filled whith radioactive wastes, that could explain why the explosion is triggerred at the very moment you insert it into a titan energy filler. Forcing nuclear waste could provoc an instant reactor meltdown and the titan entire structure would collapse du to the instability. Now that think about it i have also a theory about the yellow or orange battery i think they could actually made of of materials that could make easier the energy containement and transfer. The material could be the one you are harvesting in the frontal defense mode, explaining why it is that expensive to product. Tell what you do think of that theory, i am just a fan of titanfall and certainly not expert in nuclear reactors (fusion or building).
Nuclear waste is the by-product of nuclear reactors, it's when the radioactive material loses some of its reactive material(in the case of depleted uranium, its actual uranium) and so outputs less radioactivity. This makes the reactor run at less than peak efficiency, so it is replaced. While DU is still dangerous, it probably won't provoke a reactor explosion. I think nuke batteries are filled with conventional explosives, and because they get so close to the reactor, it will crack the casing and cause a meltdown, or at least an ejection.
My theory is that normal batteries are simply fission batteries, powered either by uranium or tritium, or it is a lithium polymer battery that is nearly overcharged. Amped batteries though, might be hydrogen fuel cells that is converted to electricity when you put the battery inside the titan. Another theory is that amped batteries are none of that, but in fact antimatter cells. The antimatter could be suspended in a very small housing unit, with something that removes the gravity and prevents them from touching the housing walls, with the housing unit being in a 100% vacuum state, so nothing but the antimatter is inside of it. The antimatter could then be removed from the housing cell an atom or a few atoms at a time, and exploded and that explosion energy could be harnessed. However, this explosion causes a very high amount of gamma radiation to be released, so this is doubtful unless the titans and pilots have lead armor. I am putting my bets on the hydrogen cells, since an active uranium or tritium battery would harm pilots over months of being in a titan, especially if there were more then one of the batteries currently in the titan. Such as Captain Lastimosa, he linked with BT-7274 almost 1000 days before the Titanfall 2 story took place. I would expect to see him suffering from some kind of radiation sickness when he drops from BT. Maybe I’m wrong though, but I would expect such a strong battery to have active uranium or thorium, and not like a normal atomic battery. Like a nuclear reactor, where it has chain reactions.
I think that when putting a new battery into a titan it puts much more power into the system than the titan is designed to handle and then it diverts it to some latent repair systems, the more power the more efficient the repair, but if you put too much power in it'll overload the titan before it can divert the power and break the core. They're basically RTG's. And it's easily possible that these batteries Don't leak any radiation Modern day RTG's Are Incredibly safe
Theory; ( 7:21 ) this amped battery might be a fusion battery instead of fission (fission is the most common type of nuclear power, splitting the atom) fusion is combining two small atoms to a bigger one, this is a much more stable and is theorized to be the future of nuclear power, the sun uses this type of reaction and it’s color is yellow (the sun isn’t really yellow; it’s just how our eyes perceive it) and this battery might use the same reaction: thus the yellow color Fusion better explained: ruclips.net/video/mZsaaturR6E/видео.html
Do note that in multiplayer, you can install a new battery even when the first one has not been pulled out. In singleplayer, on the other hand, you can pick up large quantities of these quickly to repair. This leads me to the idea that unlike the earlier Titans from Titanfall 1, Titans from Titanfall 2 have two power sources, the main being the reactor core, powering the essential functions of the titan like movement and weapons, and the secondary, a capacitor bank of sorts, responsible for the ability cores, shields, auto-repair systems etc. I'd even theorise that while we don't really see that ever happening, titans dump the batteries into said bank fairly quickly, and eject the spent ones, allowing for new insertions. The main reactor, too, can charge the bank, but does so much, much slower, hence the need for the batteries.
its been so long, but my theory: titans dont get physical damage until doom state, all the damage until then is dealt to some kind of energy/particle armor, that can explain why taking out a battery lowers the life bar, and why titans can heal when eat some batteries, also why titans dont get extremities riped while in combat. counter-to-theory: -weakspots. -visual effects. counter-counter: -maybe weakspots need a tickness protection which come with more energy consumption when hit. -pilots have an orange particle body armor that auto recharges, but when shoted blood is spilled out, instead of energy particles.
Hey, this makes sense. Although, you can still lose some armor plating around the arms and legs well before doom state, and they do magically come back when you replenish health with a battery. But there is some connection with power reserves and defenses, so I think you're definitely on to something. I do like the idea that titans make use of nanites in titan batteries to repair themselves in addition to energy shielding, but it doesn't quite explain why doom state is non-recoverable if nanites can assemble themselves into armor plating. Also, pilots have an insane amount of resilience and recovery when it comes to taking shots. If they really are bleeding and still recovering, that means they are definitely losing blood but somehow getting it back. Nanites could possibly rebuild a pilot from certain death. In addition, I have a suspicion that pilots can never be killed. If you execute a pilot while in the Apex Predators faction, you're victim is likely very much dead, but then Blisk will say, "that guy's gonna hold a grudge." So that raises some questions.
@@EngorgedBanana with pilots i think they use some kind of nano energy body armor, like the ones in apex legends, but in that case it is able to auto recharge its shields automaticaly. but again, blood is seen when a pilot get shots. so dont know exactly how this "regenaration" works.
some problems remain: multiple batterys can be extracted from single titans, and pilots can carry only 1 at the time, and batterys are always used upon entering your own titan. atomtitans in FD are used like goons, suggesting some kind of battery(internal)-rescource shortage by the IMC where they get rid of destabilising titancores that they cant afford to maintain. in the same instance normal IMC titans cant explode at lower doomstate like 1%hp, on there own. which seperates the nuklear eject ability of playertitans from atomtitans and normal FD-titans. for a titancore to go explode on being critical, they need to be "prepared" by playertitan-module or IMC-atomtitans. batterys are used by titans and spaceships(at least some minor systems), leaving the IMC with no supply after the destruction of Demeter. after there last atempt of a quick victory with the faultweapon, the IMC runs out of rescources to maintain titans and fleet, limiting the general usage of batterys to there fleet. the depleted titancores are what we face as atomtitans then. batteryshortage might result by Demeter destreuction and the faultweaponproductions. sidenote1: yellow batterys only apear after the discovery of the faultremnents and the takeover of the original diggingsite by the milita, giving the battery the "temporal playcard option", as possible explenation batterys coud cause a local temporal acceleration of titancores, resulting in more energyproduction per titan on expand of shorter lifetime[requires a deeper look into that theroy/its evening for me] sidenote2: nuclear reactor dont need to just run out of burningfuel like our modern-classic uranium reactors. they coud be allowed to go critical by design upon end of there lifetime(similar to a ironfusion in supernovas, revert the energyformula) sidenote3: batterys coud be just a coolingsystem for the cores themself have fun
Actually, you were able to explain how batteries interacts with Titans' Cores a way more easier, if you took TF1 Cores as example. Or Ronin's. I mean, while his Core is active he able to dash(phase dash too) charges recorers a way more faster just like during Dash Core from TF1. I'm not sure if you'll read this comment but i like your vids,
Advanced repair mechanisms seem most likely, they need a certain amount of power to boot up, but when in doomed state a single battery doesn't have enough charge to repair itself, and if you had three, some of the batteries would already be drained, the amped battery can act like a defibrillator in a way, by giving such a charge the repair servos can work at there top performance.
I have my theories for energy weapons. Volt, Double Take and Devotion are probably highly charged bullets that get surrounded with plasma The L-Star probably turns ambient atmosphere into plasma, which would explain the lack of magazines and quick overheating. Charge Rifle and Ion‘s kit are all charged particles Plasma Railgun: it‘s in the name, powerful railgun that superheats the bullets to plasma
I think about the batteries contain a type of nuclear fuel to operate the titan reactor. this would explain why some titans have that kind of backpack on their back, there are pictograms that indicate the danger from radiation there. The yellow batteries I think that because of the damage the systems that keep the battery under control to avoid an atomic titan receive damage, the atoms of the already unstable nuclear sonstance becomes unstable. this causes an increase in energy caused perhaps by a loss of refrigerant or whatever is not known from here, with this the battery produces more energy, because the nuclear reaction without the safety systems is maximized but it can explode too. this would explain why the titan tells us that a battery replacement is needed.
I have always doubted that batteries play a role in only energy storage. Batteries as power storage just wouldn't explain why you can use a laser core multiple times without losing health. Or be able to use a laser core even while in Doom state (having no spare batteries for massive energy outputs). So the power that a titan uses for offensive and operational functions must be separate from the green batteries that we steal and install in our titans. Titans like Ion must be generating their power constantly from a (seemingly) never ending energy source, which I would believe would be a titan’s reactor. Green batteries, therefore, must only be used for defensive purposes. They can restore integrity to a titan's hull and protect it from immediate fire. Your titan will lose plating around the arms and legs well before doom state, but they can magically be restored with enough batteries. If a titan is reassembling itself from just the contents of a battery itself, that means that the battery must have some tangible material that a titan can use to strengthen it's hull. Nanites are an experimental organized self- assembling material. So nanite tech could be an answer. What this doesn’t explain very well is why you cannot restore a titan back from doom state with just regular green batteries. If nanite tech is in green batteries, a titan’s reactor should be reasonably repairable, unless nanites alone cannot repair a volatile titan reactor. There is the exception of the Vanguard class titan of course, it can, with The Survival of the Fittest kit, repair itself from doom state with just green batteries. The Vanguard class titan is an interesting titan because it is very much not self-sufficient. It’s constantly adapting and growing by acquiring resources. It has an energy siphon ability as part of its main kit and can stockpile green batteries like crazy, (especially in Frontier Defense, where it is the titan with the most amount of health in the game). More importantly, Survival of the Fittest Vanguard class titans do not have a (seemingly) never ending energy source like other titans. BT-7274 requires green batteries as a major source of power, not able to function independently unless he is sufficiently supplied with green batteries. (He also eats green batteries like M&Ms in the campaign). So what about other titans? I discussed the possibility that other titans have a (seemingly) endless energy supply but not BT-7274. I discussed that other titans cannot restore themselves out of doomstate with just green batteries, but Survival of the Fittest Vanguard class titans like BT can. In conclusion, it’s possible that Survival of the Fittest Vanguard titans do not have a titan reactor like the rest and rely solely on energy siphon and green batteries. (However, in the campaign BT-7274 is able to use Ion’s laser cannon, so there is some inconsistency with where BT’s functional and offensive power truly come from. Also, all Vanguard class titans restore shields every time they engage their titan core, suggesting they are tapping into some kind of power source like a reactor even when Survival Vanguard titans shouldn’t be.) This does piece together some things. Titan reactors are related to doom state. If Survival of the fittest vanguard titans don’t have a reactor, they aren’t permanently crippled in Doom state. On another titan, if a reactor is exposed and damaged, it is undoubtedly beyond repair with just green batteries alone. So if reactors are beyond repair, the only way to fix it is to replace it. Here is my second theory. Amped or yellow batteries are in fact titan reactors. In Frontier Defense, they either reinforce a titan’s defenses significantly, or restore a titan out of doom state. My conclusion is that they replace the failing titan reactor upon installation. They can either couple the first reactor and provide as a “backup” reactor, inadvertently improving defense, or replace the first one, and restore a titan to a stable condition that can be further repaired with normal green batteries. The discussion of red batteries is not very novel. Titans in the game can equip themselves with nuclear reactor cores, weaponized to the point of massive destruction upon ejection. If yellow batteries are just titan reactors. Red batteries are just weaponized titan reactors. One thing to discuss is that when a titan with a nuclear core enters Doom state, how can they be restored with a yellow battery and not a red one? A thing to consider is the possibility that the original reactor is still somewhere in there, and can still be ignited if it needs to be. Which brings me to another question. Titans have only one battery slot right? We know that Vanguard class titans have multiple batteries. BT-7274 has several on his sides and probably another one on his back. Although, on most titans, we can only see one battery on the back from the outside. However, if you embark your titan while holding a battery, you install that battery from the inside. This suggests that there are battery slots on both the inside and the outside of a titan, creating the potential for more than one battery slot per titan. Another person has noted that when rodeoing an allied titan, you can see a previously installed battery even when you are installing a new one yourself. You could imagine that batteries stack upon each other and that more rest underneath the ones we see on the outside. Also another thing about nanite tech. Pilots have an insane amount of resilience and recovery when it comes to taking shots. If they are bleeding and still recovering, that means they are somehow losing blood but getting it back. Nanites could possibly be rebuilding a pilot from certain death. In addition, I have a suspicion that pilots can never be killed. If you execute a pilot while in the Apex Predators faction, your victim is likely very much dead, but Blisk will say, "that guy's gonna hold a grudge." Conclusion: Green Batteries: Nanite material supply/minor power stores Yellow Batteries: Titan reactor cores Red Batteries: Exactly what you think they are
I have a theory! Every titan has multiple batteries, and so when you give them a new one, a titan can take the battery, who supposedly will have been a bit decharged and focus the energy into the core. The new battery will then focus on the protective force feild around your titan. When it drains, you put the energy into the core, explaining how titan damage increases your core. Same thing when using your primary weapons. Energy is put into that, and when it has drained, you focus the remaining energy into the core.
The amped battery might just be batteries with twice as much capacity but charged at 75% of their potential, so when you put one in a doomed titan it powers the atomic stabilization mechanism and convert the extra energy made by the unstable core directly in the battery. It sounds weird but it could actually work with other technologies like kinetic batteries that use lasers to turn kinetic energy into electricity.
I tend to think Vanguard titans, the reason for their batteries being under the arm pits is so other pilots can not steal them based off of previous made chassis where the battery slot is accessible for ease of use. Vanguards would need FULL 3 batteries for full function where as IMC titans batteries can be YOINKED but themselves have internal batteries that swap out/in. Think auto loader for batts, take one, another replaces and vice versa for taking and replacing.
4 years late to the party, but here’s my take on Batteries: Standard: All titans have a sort of on-board repair system consisting of nanites, issue being that these things only have enough of a charge to detect and relay damage to a Titan’s HUD, but when a battery is installed, they’re able to carry out their task to a certain degree, whilst a portion of the battery’s power is reserved for letting the Titan’s onboard shield generator produce a charge. Enhanced batteries: Similar concept, but with more power provided to both the on-board repair and shielding systems. In the case of Nuke Rodeo batteries, I’d have to say it’s something akin to a Data Knife, but in battery form. Obviously we can’t directly hack a Titan, but by inserting a viral payload into the battery socket, we force the Titan in question to trigger a reactor meltdown without the opposing Pilot’s command to do so. In the case of Monarch and those titans being able to heal out of doomed state, I’d have to guess that they have a portion of their nanites dedicated to repairing the reactor’s shielding when given a sufficient charge, thus saving the Titan from the danger of going nuclear.
Just as a kind of extension on this theory, the icon that you see on your HUD shows that the battery is not completely charged. This shows that it is nuclear since a nuclear battery would not ever be completely charged. This maybe why it needs three, as BT says "Power at two-thirds. My systems are rebooting, but a third battery will accelerate the process". This is just like a phone or a computer, the more charge it has, the more energy it can put in processing. Your phone or laptop will still work at 10%, just not as fast as 100%.
The amped battery is basically a defibrillator for titans, i mean, real defibrillators work by applying electric power so big that unstable or none heartbeat somehow fixes itself (we don't really know why), i think that amped battery works the same. also i think that it is normal battery, but with better fuel.
The reason that amped batteries and normal batteries repair titans is due to the addition of spare energy. Titans automatically dedicate portions of energy to their systems. As that power is drained, they re-route power around themselves to remain functional. Titans can repair themselves without batteries, it's simply that it would take them time away from combat to do so which is why titans don't just repair themselves automatically in the middle of a gunfight. Batteries give them extra power that they re-route to their systems. Some of those systems being that they can repair themselves. It's the same reason why BT looks fine even after getting his ass handed to him the night before by Blisk and his merry band.
What about Monarch's kit where she can heal herself from doomed with a normal (green) battery? Is that a factor for any of this? I know this was before her release but she really is my favorite Titan.
If it's nuclear... and emits radiation... can I use my titan like a microwave in case I get really hungry? Wait, never mind, papa scorch got me pizza, ignore that!
Well, the phenomenon is called gameplay mechanics. That's why the amped battery gets a titan out of doomed state. that's why you can amp weapons that are similar to modern rifles from today. that's why a holo pilot can't throw pulseblades, and that's why any pilot can use a grapple hook to execute someone, without being able to use it in other ways.
What if the batteries also contain nanite tech, so you plug in a new battery it'll release the lil buggers along with powering the titan. The red battery has destructive nanite, the green has regular, and the yellow is overcharged. I could see the IMC trying this to maximize operational efficiency for deep recon and just all around use.
Actually this makes sense. I have always doubted that batteries play in a role in only energy storage. Batteries as power storage just wouldn't explain why you can use a laser core multiple times without losing health. Or being able to use a laser core even while in Doom state (having no spare batteries for massive energy outputs). I think that power is something that is never an issue for a titan. You can run and shoot lasers all day without needing additional batteries. So the power that a titan uses for offensive and operational functions must be separate from the green batteries that we steal and install in our titans. Green batteries must only used for defensive purposes. They restore integrity to a titan's hull and protect it from immediate fire. But if a titan is reassembling itself from just the contents of a battery itself, that means that the battery must have some tangible material that a titan can use to strengthen it's hull. So nanites could be an answer.
My theory of the amped batteries is that they are in their half life forcing more energy then the basic green batteries so when it takes you out of doom state it overclocking a self repair system, this would also explain the yellow coloration the amped battery has. My theory on the red batteries on the other hand is actually the opposite, when the red battery is put into the opposing enemy titan it overclocks the enemy titan repair system to attack it's own core forcing a nuclear detonation, now how it doesn't do any damage to the main titan itself is explained by the batteries near ending life forcing it to only attack what would give it it's energy, the enemy's titan reactor
Okay this might seem like a but of a stretch but my theory is that the titans health bar is actually the second layer of shield. The hull of a titan really isn't that strong. So when your health bar is lowering and you get shot your titan warns you of the hull damage because only when the deeper layer of shield is weakened the hull starts to take damage. I think the outer shield recharges on its own but the deeper shield protecting the hull requires much more power to recharge and that's why batteries restore your health bar. Batteries restore your first layer of shield because the extra power simply speeds up the process.
@@Cooldude-ko7ps Because the amped battery could replace the reactor as the Energy source for long enough that the reactor could cool down and not have a meltdown.
my theory: nuclear batteries are 3rd gen batteries and were made too powerful for a titan to contain that then causes a nuclear reaction overload within the core and therefore makes it explode
Adding more power to the titan would just make it explode more violently instead imagine that the standard battery runs off uranium while the super battery runs off plutonium. This would explain the extra power and the extra shielding (like heavy water or graphite rods) would block capture enough radiation to prevent a meltdown followed by an increase in power to finish the repairs
Beyond the fact of the radioactive resistant suit, it depends on the type of radiation. Alpha, Beta, and Gamma radiation are quite different, and can be stopped by different things. A composite shield of lead/glass/synthetic will stop nearly all types of initial radiation, to a degree. It's a rather dense topic, but essentially: No, if they are radioactive, its still not a problem because the designers would have put shielding in place to protect the pilots. In regards to the nuke battery: Xenon poisoning. To make it simple, the element Xenon plays hell with reactors, and can cause them to cascade (as in Chernobyl). The amped battery could just be a better refined version of the fuel, given it's 'price' to make. The theory that I had with the batteries is that they were fuel rods for a mini-reactor, and the core is buildup of excess energy that when used will protect the titan from it's own systems. The northstar core is an excellent example of this: If those thrusters are not designed to take that much thrust or that much heat, then they will be damaged when used for extended periods of time.
They remind me a lot of Zero point modules from Stargate Atlantis except wayyy less powerful. Those work by creating a pocket universe and harvesting zero point energy from it over time and over millions of years it eventually deplete. And given BT has 3 slots for them and Atlantis also has 3 slots… probs an odd coincidence but kinda funny. And they do look somewhat like the Amped batteries given they are yellow and somewhat cylindrical.
How to make sandwich for your titan: First step Get 2 bread 3 piece of tomato 2 pickle 2 or 3 battery (if you feed BT) Salad And Congrats you make BT happy Also Battery is meat for titan
I think that the Amped Battery might function as more then just another powersource. It might work as a power regulator and/or isolator aswell. Think about it, it is able to stabilize a damaged core, that i know you can do this by redirecting and/or adding or removing power from that core. The risk with adding power is, well overloading and triggering a meltdown. Like what the Nuclear Rodeo does, most likely how that works. And the risk with draining is that the Titan doesn't have enough power. The Battery might just be a normal battery but with regulating modules and something. If so this is probably why it's more expensive and powerfull, it functions more direct and effeciently.
i know im late but here is my theory: the normal battery is green because it is a normal, stable power source. because of its stability, it is not very powerful, but does its job well enough. the amped battery is yellow because it is less stable than your typical battery, and due to this, it heals better. the nuke eject battery contains too much charge and is too unstable to heal. the unstability causes an explosion in the reactor, thus blowing up the titan. there is also too much energy then the titan can handle and do with, overidding the titans safety protocols. it is like pressure stability measuring devices. green means stable, yellow means partly unstable, and red means extremely unstable.
I believe that titan batteries are partially filled with nanites to make some makeshift repairs to a titans armor, the amed battery even has enough to make complex repairs like the doomstate heal. That wouhl explain the health regen. The nuke battery is energy only and overloads an enemy titan's reactor and powersystem. And I also do not think the batteries are nuclear as they can provide a lot of power at once, contrary to RTG's. They behave more like capacitors. What would be cool is if the battery got discharged in the titan after injecting it and would then be automatically ejected. Would look awesome Greetings from Germany :)
Maybe the health is actually all a shield percentage, and your actual health is only in the doomed state (hence why it's unrecoverable- all shield power is redirected to stablising the now exposed reactor) Without a battery, the titan can't charge it's shields back up to that capacity, and the shields being damaged drains the battery, hence why it needs new ones to get "health" back. (We can simply say that spent batteries are ejected onto the ground and dissapear)
I think why you gain health from batteries is that there’s a health regeneration system but it consumes a lot of power making only used when a extra battery is added

Now the question is : How the hell do cores' charging system works and why does it goes faster when shooting people ?
Probably a game feature, but yeah, how does that work lore wise?
It's the same as earning a Titan. Those cores take up a lot of energy and resources. Proving your efficiency and effectiveness earns it faster
Thing is its not about proving yourself, its a necessary tool in order to win battles, why block it behind a "prove yourself" wall, thats just dumb.
You would knjow if you played the game for a long time and still play it. I have a theory but I don't want to share it
I played the first game and the second one from the beginning, and I still play TiF2, and i still don't understand how shooting = core charge.
Soo.. it’s like a key to say ..ok you get health now .
@@BLOODMOON-ey5mv In a way, yeah! Like the batteries power the door that lets the nanites move around and fix stuff

yes plutonuim is a "stable" isotope and uranuim is less "stable" moreover AN ACTUAL BOMB WAITING TO GO OFF

It repairs to the phisical damage.
There was no batteries in titanfall 1
You’re *technically* right....but the CORE used in TF1 is pretty much the same thing as batteries (just not encased and removable..like in TF2)
And that could also explain why doomed state is less dangerous in the second game
Still gotta love the fact that 60 ton robots with the power to operate and repair themselves along with being able to shoot and use ability’s like a vortex as an shield, yet they still need a pack of double A’s
Most titans can work without a battery thanks to the mini reactor in there hull but batteries are used to power secondary systems in titanfall 1 the titans relied more on bigger reactors
In titanfall 2 the reactors are too small and underpowered to supply power too the shields
Note: the second vanguard battery is a system reboot not a AI reboot
The vanguard still has a reactor but it is not nearly powerfull enough too supply the vanguard so if the vanguard had no batteries i would remain dormant but not dead
So titans are powered by nuclear shit but need more nuclear shit to work well bassicly
Good theory! I'm sticking with that from now on. Thanks!
If only Respawm would make MORE LORE, dammit!!!
bluecaptainIT:
I could live with that, if the campaign didn't bank one of its main premises on your relationship with your Titan.

As you said about over clocking the titan systems, it explains the effect the titan gives off when its core is active
there is like an extra for tf1 where you see the titans being made. it looks like it’s being made out of thin air with a hologram stencil. i think that the battery ends up so power ful that the excess charges up one of those sci fi version 3D printers and when you’re in doomed state it can’t get you out, it needs more power. that’s where the amped battery comes in
One thing to note is that if you look at the shoulder piece of Legion and Legion Prime sort of underneath it’s shoulders you can see that on Legion, there’s a lighting bolt-arrow looking symbol while on Legion Prime there is a nuclear symbol instead. I haven’t found it on any other titans but this might indicate something about batteries or power source of specific Titans.

Titans: I MUST FEAST ON THE DURACELL
One theory could be that the energy from the core is somehow holding together the the titan, a sort of second shield, and your doomed state is when all the damage goes directly into your chassis, destroying it permanently
My theory is that inside battery there is hamster runnimg in weel and making more power, Hamster core activated
MichalPL142 '!!!!!!!!!
more batteries = more hamster power
My guess is that after missions they give titans in doomed state an amped battery, so they don’t have to rebuild it again.
My parents yelling in the background went really well with the intro.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ANSWERS MY QUESTION THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
They could be RTGs.
It makes sense that scorch and legion require nuclear cores
1: scorch carys heat them might overheat so there's your flame core
2:legions main camera is under his weapon the predator Canon But if you look at him carefully you'll see be has a top camera there's ur smart core.
@@ktoasty4097 late, but may be it's just full of nuclear accelerator, overloading the core with so much heat that cause a meltdown.
@@anhduc0913 Exactly. Something that would trigger a safety meltdown to prevent pilot death.
Tungsten rods would be safer but not for the rodeoed titan (Chernobyl but intentional)
The nuke rodeo could just be a really strong battery that overloads the reactor or even some systems forcing the nuke eject
i understand everything he said more than i did in class

The Flying Tea Cup It's alright!! As long as you upload good content like this, you can take your time!😁
Theory; ( 7:21 ) this amped battery might be a fusion battery instead of fission (fission is the most common type of nuclear power, splitting the atom) fusion is combining two small atoms to a bigger one, this is a much more stable and is theorized to be the future of nuclear power, the sun uses this type of reaction and it’s color is yellow (the sun isn’t really yellow; it’s just how our eyes perceive it) and this battery might use the same reaction: thus the yellow color

The main reactor, too, can charge the bank, but does so much, much slower, hence the need for the batteries.
its been so long, but my theory:
titans dont get physical damage until doom state, all the damage until then is dealt to some kind of energy/particle armor, that can explain why taking out a battery lowers the life bar, and why titans can heal when eat some batteries, also why titans dont get extremities riped while in combat.
counter-to-theory:
-weakspots.
-visual effects.
counter-counter:
-maybe weakspots need a tickness protection which come with more energy consumption when hit.
Goddamn, the new apex legend confirms... all of this. It's wild.
some problems remain:
multiple batterys can be extracted from single titans, and pilots can carry only 1 at the time, and batterys are always used upon entering your own titan.
atomtitans in FD are used like goons, suggesting some kind of battery(internal)-rescource shortage by the IMC where they get rid of destabilising titancores that they cant afford to maintain. in the same instance normal IMC titans cant explode at lower doomstate like 1%hp, on there own. which seperates the nuklear eject ability of playertitans from atomtitans and normal FD-titans. for a titancore to go explode on being critical, they need to be "prepared" by playertitan-module or IMC-atomtitans.
batterys are used by titans and spaceships(at least some minor systems), leaving the IMC with no supply after the destruction of Demeter. after there last atempt of a quick victory with the faultweapon, the IMC runs out of rescources to maintain titans and fleet, limiting the general usage of batterys to there fleet. the depleted titancores are what we face as atomtitans then.
batteryshortage might result by Demeter destreuction and the faultweaponproductions.
sidenote1: yellow batterys only apear after the discovery of the faultremnents and the takeover of the original diggingsite by the milita, giving the battery the "temporal playcard option", as possible explenation batterys coud cause a local temporal acceleration of titancores, resulting in more energyproduction per titan on expand of shorter lifetime[requires a deeper look into that theroy/its evening for me]
sidenote2: nuclear reactor dont need to just run out of burningfuel like our modern-classic uranium reactors. they coud be allowed to go critical by design upon end of there lifetime(similar to a ironfusion in supernovas, revert the energyformula)
sidenote3: batterys coud be just a coolingsystem for the cores themself
have fun
Actually, you were able to explain how batteries interacts with Titans' Cores a way more easier, if you took TF1 Cores as example. Or Ronin's. I mean, while his Core is active he able to dash(phase dash too) charges recorers a way more faster just like during Dash Core from TF1.
I'm not sure if you'll read this comment but i like your vids,
As soon as the video started, my phone said “battery sufficiently charged”. BT is that you?
Hah
Ok, can you explain who is the genius designer, who placed the battery on top of the titan, and at the same time did not cover it?
Advanced repair mechanisms seem most likely, they need a certain amount of power to boot up, but when in doomed state a single battery doesn't have enough charge to repair itself, and if you had three, some of the batteries would already be drained, the amped battery can act like a defibrillator in a way, by giving such a charge the repair servos can work at there top performance.
Could you make a theory about how the Energy weapons Work in TF2 ?
Liz Jolinsen mosty likely a tiny electric powered cartaridge the hurts alot
I have my theories for energy weapons.
Volt, Double Take and Devotion are probably highly charged bullets that get surrounded with plasma
The L-Star probably turns ambient atmosphere into plasma, which would explain the lack of magazines and quick overheating.
Charge Rifle and Ion‘s kit are all charged particles
Plasma Railgun: it‘s in the name, powerful railgun that superheats the bullets to plasma
My theory:
Normal batteries are normal
Amped batteries are more powerful
Nuke rodeos overload the titans reactor
RandomGuy0698 i think is only fuel for the core and the red batteries are tungsten filled (Chernobyl 2)
I think the amped battery includes repair bots, which let it fix a reactor and heal more.
What about Monarch being able to be taken out of doomed state by a regular batter
I have the explanation you are looking for.
Also, all Vanguard class titans restore shields every time they engage their titan core, suggesting they are tapping into some kind of power source like a reactor even when Survival Vanguard titans shouldn’t be.)
This does piece together some things.
If you execute a pilot while in the Apex Predators faction, your victim is likely very much dead, but Blisk will say, "that guy's gonna hold a grudge."
Conclusion:
Green Batteries: Nanite material supply/minor power stores
Yellow Batteries: Titan reactor cores
Red Batteries: Exactly what you think they are
Batteries are just booster packs. Assisting with power generation and repair functionality.
Well this is relevant
Yep
this channel is as underrated as titanfall
I have a theory!
Every titan has multiple batteries, and so when you give them a new one, a titan can take the battery, who supposedly will have been a bit decharged and focus the energy into the core. The new battery will then focus on the protective force feild around your titan. When it drains, you put the energy into the core, explaining how titan damage increases your core. Same thing when using your primary weapons. Energy is put into that, and when it has drained, you focus the remaining energy into the core.
Do let's talk a-wall and hard cover
The amped battery might just be batteries with twice as much capacity but charged at 75% of their potential, so when you put one in a doomed titan it powers the atomic stabilization mechanism and convert the extra energy made by the unstable core directly in the battery.
It sounds weird but it could actually work with other technologies like kinetic batteries that use lasers to turn kinetic energy into electricity.
Oooh a new lore video by teacup. Did gonna be good.
4 years late to the party, but here’s my take on Batteries:
Standard:
All titans have a sort of on-board repair system consisting of nanites, issue being that these things only have enough of a charge to detect and relay damage to a Titan’s HUD, but when a battery is installed, they’re able to carry out their task to a certain degree, whilst a portion of the battery’s power is reserved for letting the Titan’s onboard shield generator produce a charge.
Enhanced batteries:
Similar concept, but with more power provided to both the on-board repair and shielding systems.
Hearing Scorch at 3:20 gives me life
Just as a kind of extension on this theory, the icon that you see on your HUD shows that the battery is not completely charged.
The amped battery is basically a defibrillator for titans, i mean, real defibrillators work by applying electric power so big that unstable or none heartbeat somehow fixes itself (we don't really know why), i think that amped battery works the same. also i think that it is normal battery, but with better fuel.
olodemolo MCAroon that’s not how defibrillators actually work. That only happens in movies. Look it up
The reason that amped batteries and normal batteries repair titans is due to the addition of spare energy.
It’s exactly what it sounds batteries for Titans
Well, the phenomenon is called gameplay mechanics. That's why the amped battery gets a titan out of doomed state. that's why you can amp weapons that are similar to modern rifles from today. that's why a holo pilot can't throw pulseblades, and that's why any pilot can use a grapple hook to execute someone, without being able to use it in other ways.
Nanomachines all the way
I have a theory: the bateries are canisters containing titan juice
that must be some good juice
So when you trigger a nuclear eject, you literally trigger a reactor meltdown
I believe the batteries are fused with nanites to help with the nuclear reaction and stabilize it and even to repair the broken Titan
I imagine that an amped battery may fix a doomed titan by providing enough energy that the main reactor core may be shut down and neutralized
What? Why would the reactor shutdown?
I guess we came back here because of Apex, right? Love Apex, but Titanfall 2 just came back, so play Titanfall!
How to make sandwich for your titan:
First step
Get 2 bread
3 piece of tomato
2 pickle
2 or 3 battery (if you feed BT)
Salad
And
Congrats you make BT happy
Also Battery is meat for titan
I think that the Amped Battery might function as more then just another powersource. It might work as a power regulator and/or isolator aswell. Think about it, it is able to stabilize a damaged core, that i know you can do this by redirecting and/or adding or removing power from that core. The risk with adding power is, well overloading and triggering a meltdown. Like what the Nuclear Rodeo does, most likely how that works. And the risk with draining is that the Titan doesn't have enough power. The Battery might just be a normal battery but with regulating modules and something. If so this is probably why it's more expensive and powerfull, it functions more direct and effeciently.
i know im late but here is my theory:
the normal battery is green because it is a normal, stable power source. because of its stability, it is not very powerful, but does its job well enough. the amped battery is yellow because it is less stable than your typical battery, and due to this, it heals better. the nuke eject battery contains too much charge and is too unstable to heal. the unstability causes an explosion in the reactor, thus blowing up the titan. there is also too much energy then the titan can handle and do with, overidding the titans safety protocols. it is like pressure stability measuring devices. green means stable, yellow means partly unstable, and red means extremely unstable.
Can't wait for Titanfall 2: breathing theory
I believe that titan batteries are partially filled with nanites to make some makeshift repairs to a titans armor, the amed battery even has enough to make complex repairs like the doomstate heal. That wouhl explain the health regen. The nuke battery is energy only and overloads an enemy titan's reactor and powersystem. And I also do not think the batteries are nuclear as they can provide a lot of power at once, contrary to RTG's. They behave more like capacitors.
What would be cool is if the battery got discharged in the titan after injecting it and would then be automatically ejected. Would look awesome
Greetings from Germany :)
Maybe the health is actually all a shield percentage, and your actual health is only in the doomed state (hence why it's unrecoverable- all shield power is redirected to stablising the now exposed reactor)
Without a battery, the titan can't charge it's shields back up to that capacity, and the shields being damaged drains the battery, hence why it needs new ones to get "health" back. (We can simply say that spent batteries are ejected onto the ground and dissapear)
I think why you gain health from batteries is that there’s a health regeneration system but it consumes a lot of power making only used when a extra battery is added
Everyone: Titanfall 2 is so underated
Me: You are underated.
Wouldn’t the multiplayer take place before single player? I mean you can have Ash as your leader and she dies in the campaign
