Greetings from Australia. After a shitty week at work it’s great to kick back with a vodka and watch my favourite channel with the best S.O.T. Hosts. Thanks so much Mr Pardo and Mr Alo.Monsters Den RULES!
A few that weren't mentioned are: - The Wicker Man: the cult kills a cop, you'd think there would be an investigation. -The Stuff: with all our modern technology and the fact that advertisements are so frequent now, I think a sequel to The Stuff set in the 2020's would be a lot of fun. Lots of social satire to be made for sure! -Maniac: would love to see Frank Zito come back again. Edit: totally forgot about "They Live!" I think this would be a perfect film to make a sequel to especially in our current world we're in.
Edgar Wright said this in a recent interview... “I haven’t gone back to horror-comedy because with Shaun of the Dead, I felt like I had said much of what I wanted to say with that movie. It’s difficult to return to that, even as a producer,” he explained to SFX Magazine in a recent interview. “The thing is that films take so long to make. I think that’s the thing that fans don’t quite understand sometimes,” he said. “They’ll say, ‘Why don’t you knock out a Shaun sequel?’ It’s like, these films take three years to make, you’ve got to really, really love it to do it.” Wright says he’d prefer to spend his time challenging himself with new and different kinds of material. “Because films take longer to make, trying to challenge yourself with a different subject matter or something you haven’t done before, it’s always the real motivator,” concluded the filmmaker.
I went to a screening of Freddy v Jason at BeyondFest in LA in October and the writers were there. Really cool guys and great Q&A, they mentioned an exec came up with the idea of Jason emerging from the water and Freddy winking, a true "tie". They also said the original idea was to have them both go to hell and Pinhead to come out, but it was a different studio and they scrapped the idea altogether, but how cool would that've been?
Great show guys. Alo, big time like on The Thing. I always wanted to know what happened after. And Pete, good call on Seven! I never thought about what happened after till now.
I’m pretty sure the tow truck scene is in the Friday reboot, where Jason impales the kid on the tow spikes and I thought the same thing, that was the guy from TCM.
RE: Killer Klowns: There was a proposed first sequel to the original film, 'Return of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 3D' which was shelved so maybe it'll happen eventually which will please Pete.
I was always a fan of Nightbreed and I always thought it would have been cool to see the story continue. I know there was a short comic book series but it would have been interesting to see a sequel.
Chris had a point about the Trick r Treat merch, and ill add that just this year, the Spirit halloween stores had an awful lot of it that was not there in previous years. I even bought some because i was so excited to see it. Also right about the Killer Klowns stuff! Which i also bought some. Funny thing with that movie...i bought it a couple years ago, never really thought it sounded good and only just watched it this year, but I was an INSTANT fan. Also, Pete, definitely get yourself a copy of Tucker and Dale vs. evil.
Very entertaining and great picks! I read that Seven was suppose to have a sequel. It was going to be called Eight but ended up falling though. The script for that movie ended up turning into the movie Solace starring Anthony Hopinks.
I’m pretty sure the old guy from Texas chainsaw was in the Friday the 13th remake. Not 100% but would make sense as they are both Platinum Dunes movies.
I like the idea of a direct sequel to Dawn of the Dead. The other angle could be following the group of bikers. Also, there was an anthology book called Book of the Dead where famous horror writers took their shot at Romero's zombies. The approach was sort of a same night, but different location and story. Would have made a good string of stories. Keep up the good work guys.
We never got a sequel to The Beyond or House By The Cemetery. It would be interesting to see what happens to Bob after he walks off with the girl and the old woman.
Cool episode. Tough one to tackle as well since most horror movies have sequels. But Chris brought up a great one and Pete also by asking what would you call it though. Halloween : Season of the Witch. I was thinking why not make it part 13. Isn't the Halloween movies near there anyway? Plus you keep a "3" in it and with it being 13 you add the Witch thing to it. They could start writing it now and drop it when the 13th Halloween release comes. Iunno. Just a idea. I also would love to see a sequel to Motel Hell. It would be cool to see with the technology they have today. Sadly I'm scared to want this remake though because as far as I know the main motel owners are dead. So they would have to find new people to play those parts. But when the hell has that stopped sequels. lol. That's about it though. I almost want to say I'd like to see a remake of the classic Return of the Living Dead but after seeing all those sequels... Ugh. Might best just leave that classic alone. I just don't think you can capture that film in all it's glory. And unlike some I'm a big fan of many sequels but those Return of the Living Dead films. NO. AWFUL.
I really enjoy this show…. A lot. Pete and Chris are a great combo, I’ve added Trick Or Treat and Venom in my shopping list, never seen them. Some of my list: Prince of Darkness The Thing Magic Halloween 3…. So 3.5
Doesn't really matter since this was 10 months ago, but: The scene Chris was talking about wasn't in Freddy vs. Jason, but the Friday the 13th remake, which makes sense since the Chainsaw Massacre remake had the same director. Venom was in 2005, not 2011. Anyways, great video regardless. 😎
Superb, how about Troll hunter 2, the Norwegian film makers families want answers. Or Suspiria 2, the witches open a dance class in New York or London, or a theatre of death in west end or broadway show, set it in the eighties though, much spookier. Maybe a origin story to don’t look know, the origins of the physcho dwarf demon. Babadook 2, and a Super 8 sequel maybe tying in to the interesting cloverfield franchise, both Abraham projects. Finally maybe a sixth sense sequel, how does the young lad cope later on in life with his ability to see dead people. Love the show loads and all the other Rock n metal content.
- I've been waiting since the 70's for a sequel to one of my favorite cult classics, the gross-out extravaganza: Squirm. - I always thought the amazing movie, Wolfen deserves a sequel. - I almost forgot about The Faculty. I don't know how they never made a sequel to that awesome movie. Also, I think "Buffy The Vampire Slayer 2" is long, long overdue.
The House of Wax remake worked pretty well, it's hard though to transport the same feel of dread from the classics to a modern production and Tourist Trap sure had it in spades.

I agree, a very effective and underrated little swamp shocker especially creepy for those of us with ophidiophobia; the fear of snakes. I felt my old DVD was good looking enough, though.
@@LarryFleetwood8675 yes, definitely a movie that you could feel like you were down south, in the swamps, dealing with some really bad dude who can’t be stopped. I liked it since day one.

Also - the difficulty of naming a sequel to Halloween 3 pales in comparison to the difficulty with a sequel for Seven...I mean what are you gonna call it, Eight?!😂
I also wonder, if kids today would even care for more Freddy and Jason or consider them old hats already. Michael Myers seems to have survived the times better, for some odd reason. The Freddy remake flopped and there's been no new Friday the 13th in years, despite the reboot not being that bad in my opinion. I mean, they both looked bad in that typical modern cinematic way but were still exciting, the Jason one anyway.

Great show, Pete and Chris. I don't think you've ever mentioned this one (and there's no sequel!), but are you guys fans of "Possession" from 1981 with Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani? One of the best and most intense horror movies ever, imo. That subway scene 😮
Although the show was entertaining for what Chris and Peter brought up, I can't wish any sequel for any of the classics being done for the past 2 decades because so far 80% has sucked. Hollywood, come up with original stories for once! And there is NO FUCKING way a decent sequel to Nightbreed could be done.

Leatherface would be an awesome addition to Freddy Vs Jason.
I'd rather see Sam and Dean vs Freddy and Jason.
They did a zombie movie in the same world-ish as Shawn Of The Dead. It was Cockneys Vs Zombies. Very funny.
😃👍
How about John Carpenter's Vampires?
How about "films that need to stop making sequels"? 😄
Bad Taste.
