You pulled off the road so you could cry. It's too quiet in the suburbs. Searched your mind to try to find where the bottom really was. When you felt nothing but young and in love and they didn't love you in return. The look that was in their eyes is a memory you've burned. You sleep with a window open and you hope the cold gets in your heart. But you're not haunted. You just miss everything. You're not a ghost, so stop disappearing. There's another body in the McDonald's parking lot. The cops stand around like there's nothing to do. You start to worry that's what you'll look like when it catches up. You're a stranger in your photos. Melt into a drink with all your friends. And you're swallowed in a moment. The metaphor is meaningless. You'll say, "that's okay they never liked me anyway." But there's a killer in your heart. You're not haunted. You just miss everything. You're not a cautionary tale, so don't you vanish on me. You're losing weekends and then the days will start to slide. You keep breaking all these habits, but you can't seem to get by. And you used to daydream about the things you'd do and say when you were famous, but now the plastic in your belly has you feeling all sorts of sick. You used to daydream. And you're not haunted. It's just the devil in your skin. It'll be this bleak forever, but it is a way to live. You're not alone. You just miss everything. When you're feeling like a ghost would you come haunt me please? It's every trip into that empty house. The silence from the street. Your blanket in your seat and the nearly muted TV. There's no answer from you, and your phone blinks with my reply. It's that lump in my chest and my relief to hear you cry.

Listen to Schmaltz, start to finish, in order, on a day off or something like that. Just not in the car. Tears + driving do not mix well. Good album to start with after this one, then Brave Faces, then circle back to Giant Sings The Blues
Few bands can make a change to their sound and have it work. While I do miss some of their more punk elements, they’re still one of my favorite bands. Others who went the same route and it worked are The Menzingers and The Flatliners.
this album hits different after going thru a breakup. found their music near the end of a 6yr relationship. singing the songs prior to it ending vs after is just such a brutal shift. it’s hard to listen without tearing up. seeing them on the upcoming tour is going to make a complete wreck, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. thanks for all the music and feels

What a great fucking show it was, even though it was in November here. I've already seen both bands multiple times, but you know. Hot Mulligan has had such a meteoric rise. My spouse saw them in a 100 person venue pre-pandemic, not long after we first saw them opening for TWY. Now they are playing theater sized venues as a headliner. Holy yikes. I guess writing good songs and also proclaiming that you are the #1 Hot New Band can go a long way, haha.

I love this band. more than most things in my life tbh haha
I’m a huge fan of melodic punk from the 90’s and 2000.s. I’ve discovered a few bands I absolutely love recently including this one. A few others are Moose Blood, The story so far and Transit. Two of which are no longer together as far as I know, which sucks. Not exactly punk per say but man they have some good songs. Another favorite is saves the day, specifically the album “Through being cool”.
Transit I love. Check out cold collective it's Tim lander's last band(rip) transits lead guitarist.
