@@jmrabinez9254 1. I need a full season of this because I enjoy it. 2. It's jaw dropping because it's simultaneously insulting/stereotypical, and entirely genuine in its goal of wanting to bring people together. It's like if Michael Scott from the Office made a cartoon. 3. I love it because it's unique, the character designs are fun/hilarious, the twists in the episode genuinely caught me off guard, and again, I enjoy it.
Now Nimrod is a name that is based off a hunter in the Bible, but since Bugs Bunny called that to Elmer Fudd, it became synonymous with being dumb. Shows how much cartoons can change culture and language if they have a big enough impact on the population.
He's also portrayed as a giant in Dante's Inferno, speaking the only language that everyone spoke before the language diverged at Babel, which to Dante, sounds like gibberish.
Who do you think will get more fanart? Tawkwonhindu, or Ms. Dogma. Speaking of villains, instead of having the scientist/Atheist be the villains, why not have Xenu be a villain? Xenu should be the Thanos of this series. Have L Ron Hubbards severed head in a har with a cyborg body. Make fun of Scientology. Here's some other suggestions. A televangelist supervillain? Evangelist super villain? How about a Frankenstein monster made from the body parts of all the evil people that ever existed (Hitler, Stalin, Bin Ladin, Pol Pot, Mao, Idi Amin etc). The Anti-Christ?
I think Ms. Dogma is defiantly getting more fanart cause her name is shorter and more memorable and she seems more expressive or at least from these clips in the video, those sorts of things usually make fanart more likely.
Honestly the general concept of the show isn’t terrible, but Jesus the execution was horrendous. It’s like they tried to be inclusive but they accidentally made all the characters caricatures of the group they are meant to represent
The scientists are definitely regular scientists, but did see some people think they were Scientologists when they first watched it, so maybe if the made them that later down the line it would be a bit better. Maybe as an allegory of people using religion for power and money?
This almost seems like those cartoons that try superhard to be inclusive but somehow manage to piss off both right and left wingers but for completely different reasons.
Regarding the creator's name being Nimrod, I just found out a few weeks back that the original name of Nimrod was a biblical figure and a mighty hunter. It wasn't until Bugs Bunny using the name decades ago that it ended up being considered an insult, since he called Elmer Fudd "Nimrod" implying that Fudd considered himself a great hunter.
As a chance to learn something - Nimrod was a biblical king, and for a long time the name was associated with being a great hunter or tyrant. Several notable ships and military aircraft have carried the name, such as the Hawker-Sidney Nimrod Submarine hunter. The negative connotation of the term mostly stems from its sarcastic use by Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck when pointing out the ineptness of Elmer Fudd - though they were not the first use it this way.
As an agnostic/atheist I actually really agree with your comment about making towards people who misuse religion. Imagine if they made an episode about Chris cross getting upset about "religious organizations" Running a charity and then not using the money for good intentions. "No way Joseph (little joke like the Lebanon Jordan) My God loves all of his children, its not an exclusive club you get into with money or power!" If it's still going down the route of teaching children it also can teach them to have critical and statistical thinking even about their own religion period. Whether their efforts are going towards your God or their own benefit.
honestly this really reminded me of jreg's centricide series, a team of 4 drastically different personifications of stereotypes of ideas, all teaming up on the people who want no part in it, just without the layers of satire thrown on lmao. i'm also agnostic, ex-mormon. personally i think having something for kids to educate them about different cultures would be a really good thing, this is just executed horribly. another channel i follow called "chamber of spoilers" did a video on this show from a jewish perspective which is worth checking out. anyways, loving your content, the video on chip chilla was an instant sub lol. keep it up!

I think their intention is positive and it’s about inclusivity and cultural appropriations in a good way, but Ninjew? Real Japanese Ninja’s religious beliefs were shamanism, mountain worship and animism. Why do they think Ninjas do “In”(hand signs)? it’s how they(supposed) to use their elemental power from elements spiritually. They had their own actual religious beliefs. Ignore it and just use as “superpower” holder is completely opposite of being inclusive and to positively respect multiple religions and beliefs.
Muslim here, & I really love the idea of a gang of friends with different religions kicking butt together. When I first saw Emma Thorne's review of this series it reminded me of another series I love, Super Science Friends. Then someone mentioned Hetalia too in the comments and I guess, yeah, they're kinda similar in a way, but cuz they're heroes with superpowers God's Gang is still more similar to Super Science Friends. Tbh I dont find the idea of "harmony time" a.k.a. praying/singing their own prayers togethers at the same time disturbing or headache-inducing. It's a matter of as long as you're still able to concentrate on praying.
I... get the feeling the creators of this show had their hearts in the right place, I hope. But have lived such sheltered lives that they wound up offending everybody in their attempt to 'bring all the world's religions together'. That or it's a level of satire so deep it somehow forgot it was satire.
10:21 I think the show can justify that if they take them in the same direction as the Shroobs from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. They were also aliens who came from a dying planet and came to Earth to attain resources to survive. The Shroobs however, were RUTHLESS and FAR from willing to share and coexist in peace, as they were willing to outright cause the extinction of all life on the planet they were invading if that meant they survived. The Mario Bros. of course couldn't let their planet die, so they had to stop them. If the show takes the Reptilios in this direction, it would be reasonable to see why God's Gang isn't helping them and completely trying to stop them. Also side note, it surprises me that you called the show out for naming the Jewish character Ninjew, but not that they named the angel dog in Heaven DOGMA😂!!! (Oh my God, the irony in that name choice makes me laugh uncontrollably, like WHAT!?).
2:38 I have no freaking clue. These people seem to have a very surface level understanding of various religions chalking it all up to "be nice to people because God says so" and had to think "well ok what's the opposite of that? Oh I know "be mean to people because science" you know, just... inverting the concept. Even though being religious shouldnt be inverse to science because science, when done correctly, if your religion is correct, should lead to the same conclusions. Where those two things overlap anyways.

I just assumed it was someone's fanart of that head dog from "All Dogs Go to Heaven."
This looks like a show that would play on the TVs in GTA.
REAL
We better see this in GTA VI
What a brilliant idea
I watched the pilot out of curiosity. It's not bad & it's kinda charming. I feel with better writing it could be a better show but i dont think its all that offensive. At most Just unaware & confused on what they're doing.
Honestly despite the ridiculous premise, I think this really does have a good premise. It's got enough clear wholesome and cute concepts that exploring further world definitely help with. I think if the stereotypes were broadened it could really help as well, because advancing their personalities beyond them would drown out the negative aspects.
All in all this is exactly why I like following smaller channels like this. I discover things I'd never heard of prior

It is unrealistic and naive to set aside the differences of all faiths. Some of them have already thought of themselves as superior.
@@brialapoint2608 Actual good believers, regardless of any faith, have the awareness of other beliefs ad thus religion is centered around ‚how should you live as a good human‘ instead of senselessly pursuing a ‚singular truth‘ to justify xenophobic, racist, etc. ideas like extremists and ill-minded individuals and groups did and do today.
I‘m Christian (Eastern Orthodox to be precise), but I don’t think my belief is superior nor inferior to others; religion itself aren’t ‚evil‘, it’s the people misunderstanding, misusing and abusing religion as a justification for doing horrid crimes. Religion isn’t the mistake, the people misinterpret and abusing it are the mistake.
As someone who is invested in researching different beliefs, folklore and mythologies as a hobby of sort, it infuriates me that people blame religion while in actuality psychotic people are rather to blame.
You can tell the creator thought up 'Ninjew' first then felt obligated to try to think up pun names for everyone else.
I hope Adult Swims take this, made it into an actual adul show with critics about religion (and science too, where they're deserved), because this thing has the potential of being AMAZING

Why criticizing science?
@@jmrabinez9254 whenever you make a story of any kind, it's always fair to consider the opposition point of view, it helps set a realistic story and debate, and it shows that you don't just blindly believe one side, but have considered both the goods but inevitably the bads of it (a dumb example, science often has to rely on experimenting on animals, and that could be bad, but whenever it's used to create cure for rare dieases like cancer, it's a necessary bad thing for a greater good)
I don't think they should criticize religion, but the science/atheistis yes.
If they did a xiaolin showdown styled show, trying to retrieve and protect historical and religious objects and artifacts I think It would work better as a premise
I don't think people realize how much I need a full season of this.

3.- Why?
@@jmrabinez9254
Shows how much cartoons can change culture and language if they have a big enough impact on the population.
thanks for the info! i was wondering about that. pretty crazy
He's also portrayed as a giant in Dante's Inferno, speaking the only language that everyone spoke before the language diverged at Babel, which to Dante, sounds like gibberish.
The reason the name became associated with being dumb is because of bugs bunny of all things…I never knew that! Fascinating…
Bugs calls him Nimrod, because Nimrod was legendarily a master hunter. In other words, he was being sarcastic.
Thank you! we really appreciate your review!
Miss. Dogma is probably a reference to that whippet angel from all dogs go to heaven
This reminds me of that one cartoon on Netflix where the government made a military made of gay people called gay force or something like that
@weirdcore.queen12 that’s the name I forgot it
I love Dogma as a concept for a character, it simply works
Mango's voice just keeps getting deeper
this is good
Who do you think will get more fanart?
😏
THE SPAGHETTI MONSTER as a villain. Anyone?
How would Jehovah Witness translate to this show?
@@forgottenanimator4474 ‚The Birthday Busters‘
Feels like a Adult Swim cartoon skit for kids.
This almost seems like those cartoons that try superhard to be inclusive but somehow manage to piss off both right and left wingers but for completely different reasons.
it's great
Regarding the creator's name being Nimrod, I just found out a few weeks back that the original name of Nimrod was a biblical figure and a mighty hunter.
"No way Joseph (little joke like the Lebanon Jordan) My God loves all of his children, its not an exclusive club you get into with money or power!"
If it's still going down the route of teaching children it also can teach them to have critical and statistical thinking even about their own religion period. Whether their efforts are going towards your God or their own benefit.
1:54 HE WAS AVERAGE HIGHT FOR THE TIME
honestly this really reminded me of jreg's centricide series, a team of 4 drastically different personifications of stereotypes of ideas, all teaming up on the people who want no part in it, just without the layers of satire thrown on lmao.
i'm also agnostic, ex-mormon. personally i think having something for kids to educate them about different cultures would be a really good thing, this is just executed horribly. another channel i follow called "chamber of spoilers" did a video on this show from a jewish perspective which is worth checking out.
anyways, loving your content, the video on chip chilla was an instant sub lol. keep it up!
YOO ill totally check this out didn't know anyone else had reviewed and would love to hear reviews from people w different religions
@@Neoncaffeine ye! btw the link to your discord seems to be broken
As someone with Jewish heritage, I think Ninjew having laser powers is a hilarious way to poke fun at insane conspiracy theorists like MTG and the like
As an atheist, i am speechless...
Despite being an apatheist, I find stuff like this beyond confusing when stuff like this comes out
I can't help thinking they need to bring in the writers from the PBS kids' show "Wordgirl" -- They really knew how to do a humorous animated superhero show that knocks it out of the park!
thanks for giving me something to watch while high since craig of the creek is gonna end
I refuse to believe that this is not a massive elaborate joke
I've talked w the creators, it's a comedy so the jokes are intentional but the entire show itself is not a joke if that makes sense. they're now targetting an older audience though!
@@Neoncaffeine I still refuse 💀
i cant get over Ninjew and the TTT. It doesn't even feel real that this is something that ISN'T a parody
This video was amazing, you're truly underrated! You gained a new sub.
Lol, it was all fun and games till they bought up the TTT, I was freaking done 💀
And also, we're all going to ignore the fact that a Disney Channel Star sang the freaking theme song? 😭
thanks! AND WAIT HOW DID I MISS THAT

Aw crap. It’s like Minori-Team and Bible Man had a baby.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. I was trying to think of what it reminded me of specifically lmao
@@Neoncaffeine Atleast Minori-Team’s villains weren’t the low-hanging fruits as the ones from God’s Gang: Corporate Ladder, Standardized Test, The Plant.
I watched the episode on RUclips and I interpreted this as just a weird indie cartoon from some kind of satirical show made to spite some random group.
Edit: From a Satanist perspective, it seems fun? I've probably missed much of the stuff that isn't blatantly a possible offense, but I will say, I could see several people of the featured religions enjoying it.
But the naming conventions are killing my being on the astral level.
Bro I’m an atheist but when I saw the scientists as villains, I bursted out laughing. It’s a decent show lol. (I just want to make it clear that I respect all religions and peoples beliefs!)
All I could think of was Pinky and the Brain lmao
There is a card from south park phone destroyer called "the Master ninjew"
Plot twist. All their powers actually came from Lord Xenu this entire time.
Without context, I would never have doubted it was a parody of the highly, over religious cartoons 'for kids'. . . .
A show about how different religions CAN get along would be amazing!
I'm a Persian Zoroastrian, but my family Shia. Didn't really get a sort of religion equivalent in the show, but a lot of Sumuslim's lines and euphemisms sound stereotypical. If my grandma saw it she'd probably laugh
Conceptually kind of reminds me of this one show on Shut Up cartoons' channel titled "god squad." Also I'd like to see who's win in a fight, Chris Cross or Petey Wheatstraw
Those character names give me huge Adult Swim vibes. Like no joke if a certain show "Which I can't name otherwise my comment will get nuked" had another season, they probably would've named their heroes something similar.
I haven’t seen a good chunk of religious shows the only time I was exposed to one of them was through the arcades
Chuck E. Cheese was airing veggietales for some reason
(Does anyone remember watching that show at the arcades?)
But like a lot of people I do agree this feels like a parody where unlike the veggie show it honestly feels like a charming relaxing show!
the TTT was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me like why??? 😭😭
The premise of this show reminds me of the Adult Swim show Minoriteam. Adult Swim tries to forget that Minoriteam ever existed so you're not going to find a lot about it.
yeah my boyfriend (rebeltaxi) made a video on it ages ago!
Already from the intro I can tell this show's gonna be gigabased.
it's funny asl they're allegedly working on episode 2. itd be perfect for adult swim.
@@Neoncaffeine Not only that, it would be a perfect example of how REAL representation is done. Pfft, Velma? Who gives a fuck about that one. God's Gang is where is at, because everyone there is mocked and yet, all are likeable regardless.

This is genuinely a really cool concept, people from different religions coming together is so fucking awesome I just wish there was a fifth member who represents Atheism. The show would need some VERY heavy rewrites to be genuinely amazing.
Even renaming
they got balls for making this 💀💀💀
Especially the “TTT” bro I died from that one💀
Thanks to you I have made people aware of this cartoon. And yeah this is a show has a heart in the right place, but in the current environment in America where half the population thinks lizard people are real, Bigfoot is stealing and eating housepets, and also can’t tell certain religions apart.

This looks like a cartoon parody like that Mike Tyson cartoon where he's a mystery solver
This look like if they give an adult swim cartoon to team behind shezow and try to make it "edutainment kiddy show"
I have no words outside this sentence.
This show is comedy gold because it makes fun of everyone
Honestly, there’s worse out there. I’ve seen so many worse things put out there to the post that I’m numb to anything not as bad😂
All I can think is that if this were a self aware satire on Adult Swim, I would love watching this after a couple shots.
Im suprised theres a video on this already
thanks its my autism
Ninjew, that is something I never thought I would ever hear until now hahahah.😹
I seem to be the target audience. The wacky insanity reminds me of things like Drawn Together and the bad word plays are so bad it has to be intentional.
My best explanation is it was a challenge to make something just as offensive as Drawn Together without s3+ or g+re, because that's too easy.
i am also the target audience.
God Gang cinematic universe when
I can only think of Kyle Broflovski when they say "Ninjew" 😂
This show honestly sounds like something that would be made in the early to mid 90s for a Saturday Morning block.
didn't know it was possible for a show to singlehandedly be a microagression against everyone
I dread the day someone will inevitably make a Rule 34 parody of this called “God’s Gangbang”.
When the TTT comes chasing you with burning lower case t's.
The pilot seem to be an average religious cartoon than an offensive worker like minoriteam .
Also taekwonhindu is cute
True she is cute
I was very confused on the timing thing
Just saw you on my feed, nice channel and vid

Just saying but think the reptilian aliens maybe a a reference to the whole Scientology.
I... get the feeling the creators of this show had their hearts in the right place, I hope.
Also side note, it surprises me that you called the show out for naming the Jewish character Ninjew, but not that they named the angel dog in Heaven
DOGMA😂!!!
This is certainly the cartoon of all time.
An Imam, a Baptist preacher, a Rabbi, and a Hindu specialist did actually serve as a council here. For some reason the theme song singer is also a part of this council but hey cool
