- When we make woodworking joints we don't always have to glue them, sometimes we need a wooden joint that can be disassembled. In this case I make some fish mouth joints in wooden rods without glue, so they are easy to disassemble. I I show how to make a fish mouth joint that uses a confirmat screw to keep the pieces together. I also show how to put a wood rod tight between two wooden blocks using loose dowels and one screw.
How to make wood rods:

To join the end of two wood rods, using a dowel to reinforce the joint, here I show a woodworking idea using scrap wood. I used it to fix a broken curtain rod:

11/23/2-2020 USA Grandpa Bill: Man, you are so inspirational. I'm glad you're on youtube.
What a great vudeo You gave me so much to think about.
Some excellent methods and techniques. Very impressive.
Thank you very much Benny
Exactly what I was looking for and well described. Thanks
This would be handy in a small shop as a finishing rack. Hang your pieces, finish and let dry then disassemble to save space in your shop.
Yes, that would be an interesting woodworking project 😀👍
I always end up learning a thing or two from your videos. Thank you very much! Keep up your great content please.
Nice comment 😀. Thank you very much, Isa
Very nice joints! Thanks
11/26/2020 USA Grandpa Bill: I have to say this: I am delighted to see your creations, inventions, work. You are one of only a few people worldwide who inspire, encourage, arouse the desire to work, to try, to accomplish. In my world, your English is simple and requires work on my part to pay attention and listen carefully because your native accent is so perfectly strong. But I like it. I would not change a thing, Please keep talking, keep making, keep bringing to our world of woodworkers your labor of love. We love along with you. And like I said before: I'm glad you are on youtube. I wish you were my neighbor.
Thank you very much. I appreciate your words. It takes me a lot of effort to make my videos and to translate them, so I am happy many people appreciate the effort I put to make them
Outstanding! Thank you
Simple and effective, brilliant
Very clever and not overly complicated.Well done.Interesting channel
Thank you. You do such nice work. I wish I had the tools.
Very entertaining video my friend i could watch you anytime , more entertaining than the television.
hahahahaha, I put a lot of effort to make the videos, so thank you very much 😀👍
I was wondering if this type of cut was possible and you made an awesome video teaching me how to do it!
Many thanks.
Great job. Good video. I am trying to rebuild and reconstruct fifty bar high back chairs that were very poorly designed and way to thin.
Interesting piece I will try the same idea for a bed frame thank you.
Great build as always, Vlad.
Thank you very much Vlad 😀
You are amazing. Such good quality with very limited cost equipment. An inspiration to us all.
Thank you very much. This is a simple video, but it can be interesting to make lots of woodworking projects 😀
Great idea.
Very, very goog job.
I would have messed this up a dozen ways! Well done.
hahahaha, actually I have tried and odd "jig" before cutting the fish mouth the easy way.
Some awesome joinery techniques there, mate.👍🏽
Great job on the coat rack. 👌🏽
Thank you very much Bill 😀. Actually it is not a coat rack, but for a teacher to hang some maps

Oh, could have sworn I heard you say coat rack...
Sorry about that, I did think to myself that it was a very tall coat rack! 😆
Great idea, really enjoyed the video 👍
Thank you very much Steve 😀
Good.
Hi, would it be possible to create the same fish mouth joint with a hole saw attachment and a handdrill?
You forgot to mention smaller drill bit for rods with fish mouth
What is that plexiglass contraption that is attached to your drill press?
Clever joining! But from my experience redoing a closet, I think there may be a problem with the horizontal rod holding up under the weight of the clothes. Even the 1 1/4” dowel rod in the closet bent. Wound up with a stainless steel rod.
Excellent techniques and detail. Never thrlought to use a hole saw for a joint. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😀👍
Well, I agree so maybe it is not suitable for lots of heavy clothes
I guess to some extent it depends where you live, cold winters will probably require a stainless rod, hot places, not so much.
@@BenMitro A bit slow off the mark in understanding your reply. Of course you are correct!
I am a new fan and can't stop watching your videos. Is there a way to help your channel financially?
Clever!👴🏻🇦🇺
😊👍
