A-ha never disappoint. Everything they do is gold.
This sure has that unique a-ha melancholy, combined with Morten’s amazing vocals and Paul’s songwriting. For me this song was a grower (would today rank it among a-ha’s finest though - especially the even more beautiful and organic album version), so nice to see that you approved it straight away Derek!
I have to say that A-Ha have unique sound. It's their own sound. Not many bands have this talent. And INXS.

I liked the last two A-ha albums. Very interested the one coming out soon too. The title track to "Foot Of The Mountain" is really good too.
A class act that is always going to be great to listen to.
React to "Butterfly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah)"! It was supposed to be their farewell single, and has a lot of cues towards the early songs and videos. Absolutely love the melody in it.
And the acoustic version of Butterfly Butterfly ( just piano, guitar and voice) from the last concert in 2010 is exceptional!!! 😊🎶

There are 3 versions of this song by far: single, album and demo, and all of them are cool, I can't choose the best one (and just like Paul says, he always has such dilemmas lol)

Shadowside is my favorite song from Foot of the Mountain album.
I heard this for the first time at their 2008 London show (the "We Are Really All Solo Artists In A Band We Can't Escape From" tour) and I adored it immediately. This version was edited and remixed for radio. The album version is about 90 seconds longer and has a longer pre-chorus part which is great. They took to remixing songs for radio play in this period. Some benefited ('Cosy Prisons'), some didn't ('Nothing is Keeping You Here'). This one is in the middle IMO, as such.

Interesting Melody, this one was not on my radar, i guess. I do not remember it at all.
It may be because the Melody, as beautiful as it is, is not that easy to follow/sing along and not memorable - for me at least.

My favourite single from this album is 'Nothing Is Keeping You Here.' But I'd love to watch you react to 'Lifelines' from the album of the same name.

In my opinion, the live version recorded at The Royal Albert Hall in 2008, is much stronger - had better instrumentation, and noticeably, with extra keyboard elements in the last minute.
