Wow. So much work. You have a lot of patience. Great video.Thumbs up. I just bought a new Honda Sport 2.0T and I didn't know the courtesy lights were missing until almost a week later. I can't believe Honda didn't take take the time install a $20 item. Shame on Honda for not going the extra mile for something so inexpensive!
Broh i just bought a new honda sport 2.0 and i was checking how to install this lights but is to much work for that dammm
You're the best thing that has ever happen to the 9th Gen Accord! Great Video!
Maaaan thank you so much for this video. I might do this for a summer 2019 project, although I think it might be too complicated for my skill set. Nonetheless, thank you for such a detailed video, never stop the good work!
Damnnnnn thats a lot of work just for the satisfaction of adding a courtesy light rofl. I might just not do this now lol
And this is just part 1 of 2 XD
Thats why I'm saving to get more accessories so I can install them all at once. Courtesy Lights, Door Sills, Bowl lights, and ambient lighting.
FYI reflector tape is a great option if you don't feel like installing these lights
When I upgraded the speakers and add a pair of tweeters to my 9th Gen Accord Sport, I noticed the ugly black caps under the door panels too where the courtesy lights are supposed to be. I have never owned a car that does not have courtesy light so it is weird and I have to agree, Honda is too cheap to spend probably less than $5 to add them from the factory. After opening up the door panel, I discovered like he did that there is no wiring harness or socket for the lights, so the modification is not simple. This is a lot of work just to add two courtesy lights, imagine it is double work to add 4 lights to the Accord Sedan! Although this is technically feasible, it is too much work to get all of those wiring in place and the harnesses for the light bulbs plus you will be paying premium for the light bulbs and lens for each door. The biggest problem is that he has to tap into the factory wiring harness and that will invalidate the factory car warranty. Honda would refuse to fix his car electrical problem even if it is their problem because he violated their warranty policy by making modifications to the electrical wiring. I had first hand experience on this Honda warranty problem when I had an after market alarm system installed in my 1996 Honda Accord V6 by then Circuit City (with their life time guarantee no less) and three years later, the car had electrical shorts and the alarm system would randomly activated. Honda dealer refused to fix it under warranty and I had to pay them to replace the entire under dash electrical harness because the morons at Circuit City mucked it up and caused the shorts. Hindsight, I should have paid a couple hundreds more for the OEM alarm and remote entry system to avoid the aggravation and $500-600 bill later. In the case of the 9th Gen Honda Accord, I would put in the illuminated door sills like he did to help with car entry and forget about the damned courtesy lights. If you really want them, buy Accord V6 model or buy another car make. This latter action will send a clear message to Honda to stop pinching pennies and pound foolish. They should have put the courtesy lights in all of their Accords, Civics, save for the cheapest FIT. For the prices that they charged for a new car, it is completely and utterly disgraced for Honda to cheat their customers the simple door lights that should always have been there.
Was gonna do courtesy lights in my wife’s accord until I realized she didn’t have them just like your accord. That was real stupid on Hondas part. And according to the dealer her model is a fully loaded ex…..but it has no door lights 😵💫
Entirely too much work for a light upgrade. They came in my 2dr 9th Gen. They did not in my 4dr 9th Gen & isn't a biggie.
Never the less... great vid on how to remove the door panel. Any info on the coupe rear speaker deck removal? I have a terrible vibration.
I’ve had my 2014 since 2014 and I didn’t realize until a few months back. I questioned that piece on the door that it looked it odd. Makes no sense why Honda didn’t install courtesy lights.
7th generation 4 cylinder comes with door courtesy lights
Very good video much respect man I appreciate all your videos you know what size are the speakers?👍
+Adan Chalino www.crutchfield.com/ and input year make and model.
Hey, I have a Canadian model Honda accord 2014 LX and this may sound strange to you guys in the USA but I actually have door lights on this LX, but I have a weird issue. The passenger side and driver side both have door light panels that are see thur. But only the passenger side has a harness and working light. The driver side just has the see thur panel but no harness that I can see. On an unrelated note we dont have dual climate controls on this car like you guys do on the those LX models
Does the door panel on the 2020 come off similarly?
Bro video that's done right clean job
Great video bro..
One question to the Honda manufactures though- why the designers of Honda don’t put a wire there instead people had to go through this hazel?
so im gonna try this on my 2015 coupe i just need to know where to get the wire harness from. the link u put here isnt available anymore. thanks

What size of the wire loom did you use?
Nice video
where l can get that lil cable for do that!? cuz my accord 2017 sport dont have that ldk why
Where can I find the right socket?
I'm trying to install ghost lights on my 2017 honda accord sport sedan, can you tell me where I can tap into, so they only turn on with the door sensor . I'm not putting courtesy lights, just the ghost lights
Can u do mine‼️😂
4Cyl accords in Canada have these standard.
+Deee Eeee Yes that is correct.. "I will show you how to install door courtesy light on the 9thgen Honda Accord USDM non v6 trim. This procedure can also be followed to install door courtely lights for any other vehicle as well."
will this fit a 2022 honda accord lx?
LOL only v6 comes with the door lights??? My 7th gen diesel (!) has door lights!
Thanks for the video though, I didn't know where to hook up the wires to turn on only when the door opens. Since I probably wont be getting these, I will actually just buy an led strip and tap it into the door sensor you showed us and use adhesive double sided tape to stick under the door with the wires running in the door panel and thur the plastic panel so it looks cleaner
Thanks... gtg
hello Jeff, it's me again I installed this with your video over a year ago and now 1 of the lights is not working but the bulb is okay what could it be? thank you again!
If the bulb is good then most likely it is either the ground or the power wire. Check with a test light to test the new socket that was added to make sure there is voltage at the socket and check to see if it is grounded.
Hi, Jeff.
Did you check how much the deal will charge to install these lights?
Usually many dealership will only install OEM accessory parts. Since this is technically not a Honda accessory part, many dealership will not provide installation. If the dealership is willing to provide installation, the labor fee starts at $125 or $135 an hour and this probably will be 1.5 hours. What you can do is contact a local auto stereo or after market auto part store and check their prices for installation.
where is part 2?
+David Tran it's up now.
thank you
Thanks
If I pay you $50 would you do this for me ?
He was doing well, until he SKIP THE WHOLE PART where it goes to do basically the MAIN connection to the door, he didn't even show where the fuse that he show at the first part of the video, like where you put that. explain how it goes not how to do it... I feel like i saw a video how remove the door panel pretty much. Good video overall.
Read the title of the video.. this is part 1 of 2. See part 2 for wiring.... ruclips.net/video/lQ7ixTWSNxs/видео.html
