I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
I like how they made the choreo simpler so it doesn't strain suga's shoulder.
Me too! Also bc of the pandemic they have to film a lot of performances in a very short period of time due to not being able to travel, so it’s nice to have choreo that isn’t so difficult they are over exerting themselves. Dynamite itself has had about 35 filmed performances, which would have been so exhausting to film if the choreo was as hardcore as ON choreo or something.

The way Jungkook dance and smile at the same time drives anyone crazy, this man is unbelievable talented, his voice is so heavenly and sultry and no one has his facial expressions while dancing and singing, he's so sexy and extremely handsome OMG 😍🔥🔥
The reason why jungkook is the center of bts is because he really balances the performances.

When you're currently into other boy groups, yet you still cannot take your eyes off of Jungkook. I mean... he actually set very high standard for my bias criteria.
I only notice the shoulder slightly jolted thing during Suga’s part when I focused on the practice individually. Like that is sooo subtle and yet beautiful ?!?!
i love that part bc it reminds me that he doesn’t have any pain in his shoulder anymore since his surgery.

I know for a fact Hitman Bang won’t let one of his biggest asset to go out if he isn’t fully recovered. I think in a vlive he said that it the first time he can dance without any pain anyways.

We can see how important is Jungkook in his position as a center. He's definetly a good dancer
I love the way Jimin moves, his dances and way of moving are always so extra in every way. If you see it in the background in the break dance part you will notice. nobody moves like him.

They said while Drama, and Can’t We Just Leave the Monster Alive? dances git them rapidly inhaling and exhaling after, they said this new choreo had their breath hitching right after the performance.
It left them so tired that doing it two times in a row is the biggest challenge.
I’m here to tell you this because I’m excited to see your reaction to their dance and comeback.

Jimin’s iconic and signature finger to his lips is EVERYTHING. I don’t think they need to be so aggressive so much dancing because they already look hard just dancing smooth you just have to have what they got the gift and skills to reach that full package the fans want. Like why stress about how hard you constantly have to keep making your dances when they’re already fire alone? If that makes sense they definitely look fire dancing slowly 🤍🧈
I think the choreo for the chorus is just perfect. There is more of foot work which I think was made on purpose to consider Suga’s state. But it’s charming though. 💜💛

You hit the nail on the head. The choreography should always match the mood of the song. If the song has a different mood than the choreography it comes off as weird and doesn't fit. There are examples out there, but I'm not a professionally trained dancer or choreographer so I'll keep my opinion to myself. Great analysis as always Jeff.
Thank you for this reaction and everything! Love hearing what dancers have to say and all the ones I’ve ever watched never put down BTS for their more simpler choreographies as they do tend to notice that it matches the songs very well. And tbh they don’t always need to go hard with their dancing. I imagine things would have been totally different had the pandemic never happened and they performed ON way more than they actually did get to perform it, and we wouldn’t have gotten BE album tbh. With Life Goes On, I’m personally glad they didn’t add any choreography to that song.. it was perfect without it. I can’t wait for their album to drop and see what the next title track will be like. Last year we got dynamite then Life Goes On (BE album full of no skips as usual) so I wonder what we will get next.. excited to wait and find out but enjoy this Butter for a while!

Jeff the choreography for the word ARMY was a repeat from 2013. They used it back then.
i dont think a more difficult choreo would suit this song, i personally prefer when their choreographies are more chill and they get to have fun with it

Choreo for Dynamite and Butter were made specifically so that almost anyone can learn it and dance along.

I have a question. Is a choreography only nice and cool if its hardcore and complex? It seems to me that if bts does different styles of dances like this, people seem to take it as a ‘lesser’ dance that’s not as cool or as good or as beautiful as other dances.

Even armys only guesses choreo until the first stage. They cut a lot during mvs. That's how it is for BTS.
Definitely see a lot more fun moments than in the mv and very smooth… it’s intentionally supposed to be similarly connected to dynamite movements if that makes sense. Think the choreo was meant for easy dance covers bc you put your own flair on it …. Jks swoop bc he’s taller than some is just straight rolling his body…. Hobi on that transition with his hips and dance break is so good…. But jks start, every movement is so powerful and precise… he’s just so much more confident in himself and feeling himself for sure!!!! I’m so proud of him and he’s been murdering army since butter came out but definitely muster 😂 have you seen any of muster? Fire maybe where is tattoo sleeve is visible for the first time and his eyebrow piercing… with the attitude….. what is breathing lol how low jungkook squats in that powerful hip roll is EVERYTHING!!!!! JK knows exactly what he’s doing to us… and that makes it that much better hahah so happy to see him being so free with his movements and performance. You can definitely tell the choreo is meant for camera framing and very tight in the space and the giant room makes it look even smaller lol I think the dance was supposed to be easy to replicate to an extent. But yeh please react to fire from muster or chicken noodle soup… not today maybe… so good

You think the dance studio is big ? I'm not sure if it's the biggest because we already saw ENHYPEN use this one for their performance "Very Good". For now we saw only two dance practice studio and I think we didn't see the biggest reserved mainly to BTS :)
