Nice catch and video! According to me it is good to see the newest coaches of AMTRAK also have the swing plug doors. Easy to close and lock from one position and way safer as they are locked and thus can't be opened when travelling. Here in Europe we use this type of door for more than half a century...
Considering that the Venture stock by Siemens are a variant to the Viaggio Comfort stock from Europe, albeit built in California, this isn’t too surprising.
Nice catch! Thank you for showing the gates going up. Gate never "parked" so the mee-mool lights *(o)T(o)* continued flashing? Never knew there were Amtrak Police and armed.
Makes filling an i-Spy book a lot quicker, though! 🙃 _Alsthom 91 (US) (Acela power car):_ Check. _Siemens Charger:_ Check. _Instruction to my UK bank to pay a named account or payee:_ *Cheque* 😋
Alexbaker2851 My comment wasn't about the crossing gate. Some other comments had been made about the mix of equipment on the train. I was commenting on that. Your reply was, however, interesting to me. Thanks.
OK help me out here. Tell me exactly what the two Amtrak employees accomplish by taking a red flag and standing next to a lowered gate crossing for about two minutes ? The train pulls up and they get back on. Appears to be a complete nonevent. Is this a required procedure for a malfunctioning gate arm?
Its a requirement once the dispatcher puts that notice out. I cant think of the exact rule off the top of my head. But it basically means stop and flag for a malfunctioning crossing. Pretty much regardless of the conditions. Its all per the dispatcher and the train masters
@@sroevukasroevuka It sure is when that train is mostly empty and the passengers don't cause issues. I have ridden that train several times before several years ago. I am sure nothing has changed. The US wastes tons of money on unnecessary security theater.
I dunno, they match the height of the old amfleets moreso than the GE Genesis units. Which in itself is hilarious because they were meant to match the height of F-units

Thanks! The Venture Coaches are kinda cool!
This is really what happens when crossing gates fail. Cant tell you how often I see this exact action in Fairport NY
Not so much a fail, but damaged by a truck running the gates

Thanks, I think nowadays there are armed guards everywhere

Great Catch!
Thank you, Sir 👍
Good show!!!
Thanks 👍
good job Joe
Thanks Kenny 👍
Oh yeah, 3 different kinds of coaches none of which match the locomotive, that’s good Amtrak.
The coach immediately after the Locomotive is the cafe/business class car. That type of car is not available yet in the New cars.
Mix & match 😆

Use what you have.
That can happen when Amtrak is getting new equipment and retiring older cars. It'll be this way for a while yet. 😮
Good thinking!
amtrak engineer here. this has absolutely nothing to do with equipment. most likely the gate came down on a semi or something and the gate stuck down

@@alexbaker2851 big rental box truck hit it

Pardon me boys--- is that the Chattanooga Choo choo?
Nice video
Thanks 👍
These truck drivers really need to stop hitting the gates and they never stop at the railroad tracks
👍 Agree
Blame it all on the truck drivers now come on now boys
@user-qp5uz1ul8z this time it really was a truck lol
😅yes one German diesel lokomotiv from Siemens,😂super cooool!!!!!!!!!!!😂

Because some dummy might try to go through regardless of the train being in pain sight.
Actually, the gate was stuck in the up position. Just adding several more layers of safety for both passengers and pedestrians
Love Acela ❤❤❤❤
@@raywyatt5368Right! I’ve seen many near misses going around the gates. There are a lot of daredevils out there, unfortunately.

Amtrak Police on that train? Seems like a waste of money on a short distance train. Never seen Amtrak Police before on trains.
Must be a tough crowd 😆
as an amtrak engineer i wish we had a plain clothes officer on every single train. youd be surprised how many passengers think theyre above the law
@@alexbaker2851 I can only imagine
So passenger safety is a waste of money? Maybe a.trak should stop investing in passenger safety?

Looks like the gate had a boo-boo......
Yep
My WORD that's an ugly locomotive 😡
I have a HO Scale Amtrak Midwest Charger and it's beautiful.
