I was as low as iron 3 early this split, and the insane skill difference between players is exactly like this every game. You have completely new players and low silver skill level players in the same game. It's so bad tbh
Yeah I am low bronze and most games just come down to one lane lost to a smurf (or they are just complete beginners) and this dude 1v9 because low elo players don't know how to play as a team and just get picked by the 21/5/7 fed enemy.
I say sorry to all iron players this season. I played this game for 6 years. And only in this season I decided to play ranked. It was sad to see, because I was unranked I was placed in iron 4
This is just the nature of games with long lives. Simply put, as time goes on, more resources become available, and overall skill of the community rises. We see this in speedrun times progressively getting better and better. And in league, there was a time where an "insec" was one of the craziest plays you could do, and was only performed by very high level players... nowadays people in silver are pulling off insecs. . Idk the exact conversion, but I would venture to say if you played exactly like a diamond player played 10 years ago, in current league you would probably be low silver.

I remember i was in Iron 4 unironically a couple of years ago (was new, i am Gold now). I remember thinking it was totally normal to have lanes go 0/10/0 by 15 minutes. I had no frame of reference so I just assumed the hard carry champs smurfs played were broken af. "OH GREAT, another 30/2/10 Yone. Yone is so broken." There were also a truly absurd number of scripters, inters, and griefers. You would be astounded at how often a smurf lost one play and tilted to the stratosphere. Oh and actual bots an average of once every 5 games or so. I have no idea how many games I both won and lost because bots attached themselves to mid and ruined the game. Honestly, I think Iron was harder than Silver or Gold in a way. Between all the smurfs, cheaters, and bots it can be borderline impossible to climb consistently unless you're at least mid-tier Silver.
You can see the Iron skill in the botlane dragon fight when Belveth goes in alone and then, instead of backing off and giving the drake. The team continues to go in one by one and die. Totally turned the game there.
That Trist is actually somewhat skilled. She has the idea of what to do, but the execution isn't always there. If the Zyra was close to the same skill, they would be farm the Samira/Teemo on repeat. Impressive. Some iron players do have a pulse, contrary to popular belief
Last year I made it to 30 and played 1 ranked game. Got demolished. The iron spectator videos make me want to play again because i can just imagine your commentary 😂

I'm bronze 4, i think, and it's getting very marginally better (no completely new people anymore) but man. The inting, the flaming, the panic flashing, the questionable builds, the afking, the throwing, the not ending, the refusing to look at the map, junglers doing jgl objectives instead of taking objectives,... yeah. XD I've been playing support fort 12 years (yes really, i just never played much ranked) and it's so hard to carry games in this elo because people don't play WITH you. I try to roam and my adc rage quits. Death ball and just raw damage is probably the best win predictor ^^"
I started playing League this season, so I spent a while in iron 4 0lp. The variance in skill in these games is really funny to see because I remember getting flamed by my iron teammates because I was actually brand new to MOBAs and had no clue what I was doing lmao. I ended up trying out Riven and decided to one trick her after getting to bronze 1 and fell all the way back to iron 4, but currently I'm plat 4 and I peaked plat 2. I wish there was a way to go back and watch my old replays from when I was iron, all I have are some old highlights I clipped.

I swear I had more fun at lower elos that I ever had later on. I think thats pretty much any MMO type games from League, to WoWS, to WoT. They are just more fun at lower Elos.
thats the normal low elo experience. you get ahead and stomp the enemy team. then everyone on your team thinks hes the chosen one and just 1v5s all the time until the game turned around
I remember those games as blue... so frustrating. Almost all of them are better on an individual level than blue, but they are completely unable to initiate any decent teamfight. every 20 seconds someone is running alone into the enemy team and what are you supposed to do? Fight 3v5? Their answer is to run in alone as well continuing the cycle.
There are a lot of Iron/Bronze players that are mechanically really good, but don't know Macro at all/cant close out games. Most games are like this TBH, the pendulum sweeps both ways many times during long drawn out games. Sometimes lobbies feel like RNG, you either get Silver level players, inters, new players, etc.
I don't think the mechanical play is necessarily the reason people are in iron, I think it's more decision making and macro knowledge. Anyone can press buttons in the right order
Im in bronze but i have a crazy game where i was playing Jhin our darius went like 0/15 in the first 15 minutes of the game my nami afked for a while came back and we managed to win because of an aurelion Sol scaling harder than everybody
The 'mechanics' in low elo typically aren't that bad, the decision making is horrendous though. There are massive disconnects between players as to what to do at just about every point in the game. Youll see triple kills bot and adcs not following to dragon, aces center of midlane and adcs shoving 2 waves to inhib turret and not following the rest of the team to baron. Midlaners shoving out and not rotating for objectives but just sitting in lane when a fights breaking out in the bush next to them as they are playing with locked screen. Its always a fiesta
Iron players really aren’t all that bad. They are flashes of top tier play and mechanics. Then there is some just wth moments. Some of them just need to work on a short list of improvements and they will climb right out.
I watch this video and I wanna play now, I get on league. have an insane game with an insane player on both teams, enemy team FFs and people reporting left and right.. I get off bcuz jeezus. I continue to watch the video, wanna play league again.

We all know that pinging a summoner spell is important EVERYBODY will ping if a summoner spell has been used. On the other hand nobody will followup on it. U ping flash and ghost of an ashe and flash barrier from lux re out? Well guess what ur jgl will keep feeding the enemy top laner like he has been all game

Literally went from iron 4 to gold 2 in 2 splits last season on hard stuck account. The bronze games were the hardest
