What do YOU think about The Forever Winter's brutal gameplay? Are you looking forward to the game? How do you rate my very silly gameplay? What are you looking forward to in future? This is my first vid of this type so let me know in the comments below!
This game is a perfect balance of clashing with or hiding from brutal over powered enemys and feeling like king scav when you squeak out with a backpack bursting with high value loot. Plus the devs are dedicated to making the game run better and listening to the community through their discord. Love this game right now
Yooo totally agreed!! The RUSH I got from my 1st extract even after 4 brutal deaths was so very good! This game is really cooking something special and I love showcasing everything to these devs, they are so responsive, it makes such a huge difference!! Thank you so much for the comment my friend. Thank you for carrying me through the early raids too LMAO
I like your mentality, it is an early access game, and the only way is up from here. I've got about 15 hours but find the most success in the Elephant Mausoleum. I play mostly solo though.
Thank you for the kind words, and I totally agree with how you put it!! I've not really learned Mausoleum yet, but I like all the stages quite a lot!! I've had varying success on each map lmao It's such a fun and unique game!
@@WinstonTweezers the pipes entrance is more rough, I go for the one further to start at, and aim to extract behind the hanger and next to the medic bay. usually you can sneak around the entrance to the hanger where the exo is usually roaming. the hanger is also the middle ish, but it has a huge antenna on top of it so it's recognizable. be wary of the turret spawn on the left side where the walkway is, the right side is a dead end, in the back of the hanger is where they keep the trapped civilian quest.
Death 1: Decided to poke a drone, then missed his buddy flanking you. Recommendation: Situational Awareness improvement required. Death 2: Distracted by mech, failed to notice Hunter Killer dispatch, HK flanked. Recommendation: None, HK dispatch warning being missed did not significantly change situation. RIP. Death 3: Downed drone, ran towards the squad you needed to evade, died to sniper exo shot. Recommendation: Confirm enemy direction before fleeing, slight possibility of survival without being hung up. (Scav girl is FAST.) Death 4: Spotted by soldier, noticed HK, solid evasion, staggered by sniper round hit, reasonable evasion, engaged in duel with HK unit, got flanked. Recommendation: Do not engage HK units if possible, especially with surplus weapons, and especially without suppressed weapons. (This gets you flanked often.) Conclusion: Solid improvement run to run, I can respect it.
Too many words but I'm foreign and on the spectrum, so I apologise. Great watching you guys overcome and see how we struggle with [often] the same and sometimes entirely different things. My main tip would be that if not using a suppressor, to leave the area after getting a bunch of kills quite quickly. We can circle back later and not be seen as a target but with a ton of bodies on the ground, we're a target when the first groups of Ai arrive. Drop them, go off somewhere, come back and they don't think we killed them, so we can loot them to heart's content without being seen as the culprit. Amusingly, drawing in a bunch of an enemy faction to investigate an area because they lost a few units can also draw in their enemies because they suddenly detect the heat, thus creating an Ai battle right next to where we dropped the first party - and there'll be enemies downed that we wouldn't have stood a chance against. Suppressors really are stoopid OP atm, the Ai won't notice their neighbour going down half the time lol. Scav mains from Tarkov are made for this lol Shift+W players and the parkour set that expect 20+ kills per raid are probably going to refund it before they level their guns and gear up enough to be able to play that way. I don't imagine Landmark or Pestily are gonna main this lol but ExfilCamper, VeryBadSav and RamenStyle are gonna be able to kick AI-ass. Once levelled up though, it is relatively easy even to Shift+W and go Hamm much of the time. Scope up and you're a beast, grab extended mags and you're a beast that can wipe a 5 man squad with a single mag. I hate to quote Will Smith but 'a good run is better than a bad stand' - and once we unlock the scopes and other gear it becomes infinitely easier to play 'more CoD like'. Pinging the enemy (J I think) makes identification faster and for me at least, easier to plan my route than having to ADS at everything. I go through the map, find the high end loot we want and instead of carrying it around for the next 20 minutes and setting off sirens for the enemy - just collect it when I want to extract. We can even pick it up and move it to another location, dump it there to collect later. I remember the trailer where they show the Shaman looking over the map from up high and being able to highlight the high traffic areas and determine where the good loot is - if our peasant scav faction can do that, we have to expect the major factions that have higher tech (this is why we're looting them) can see more - so not giving them a ton of time, basically provoking the enemy for every minute we're carrying high end loot, is a simple way of not getting hunted. I've had a single Hunter Killer party sent for me that reached me and maxed my water at a months supply after 2x "4 and a bit" hour sessions.. The water consumption is basically set so after the first time we play it and play that 3 or 4 hour session we usually do with a new game, we can play a couple of hours at the weekend and the water won't run out unless we're way too focused on other things. Water is a responsibility we have to our fellow scav community (npcs) in the game; the sick and the old along with rent for our space. We're not a solo, we're all our characters and we're the hope for our greater community as such (like the Brotherhood companion in New Vegas, Veronica). No doubt the controls/movements are janky and proper key binding would be very nice - Press, Release and Continuous along with 2-key binds, as in Tarkov, the freedom to change everything - *everything* not just the main controls would also be beneficial. But I use a mouse with 12 thumb buttons, so that may be more a 'me' thing. I don't imagine that we've come across any real problems that the devs aren't already aware of or have in their list of things to do, so it'll be cool to see how things progress over the coming months and years.
@@capcorgiTV Yeah sorry about that, not from the Twitter fold combined with a fear of being "lost in translation". Loving the game, about 50hrs in at this point - at 30fps 1080 on a 2060S. Even neglecting my Tarkov hideout lol
