Personally I think that mechanism could work well for a mantis inspired build, maybe attach some kind of hook at the end to mimic a mantis’s serrated(can that word be used for a livi by creature?) forearm.
@@skybirdmakes Pretty much yeah. I think there wasn't a need for them to include 2 Rahi in each set and they could've been simplified. Kinda like what you did with that mini Muaka.
I like the idea, but I feel that the Nui jaga owns the stinging mechanism, so I came up with another idea that might be unoriginal but I still like it. Propeller blades instead of wings with rubber tips to minimise their power against masks and human eyes… unlike Visorak and Ninjago spinners, they wouldn’t float off the wasp. Keep working on that stinger, it’s a great concept. That’s just my personal preference and I’d love to see you expand on your ideas.
I've made a bird with propeller wings actually Just a little guy But I also don't see concepts as being owned by one build since it's inherently limiting
The biggest issue with wanting to preserve the over-the-center action of this build in a rahi is... Sooner or later you are gonna have to build a creature around that there contraption, and that is most likely going to get in the way, unless you totally bifurcate the front of the wasp to leave a channel for the stinger to pass through, but personally I'd feel... iffy about such a design choice.
@@skybirdmakesMaybe you could set up a 90° angle gear setup (like on the Mata gearboxes, just in a technic frame) tied to that lever, that essentially splits the rahi in half? Like, normally it's geared so the two sides are resting against each other, but with some well-placed short liftarms, when you pull the lever to flick the stinger, it also makes each side effectively shift out of the way? Feels funky enough to fit in with the eary Rahi vibes in general, too.

That's a wonderful idea actually, or a mantis shrimp, something that delivers a punch
I've been thinking of how you could've fit the 2001 Rahi within the same price range as the Toa while keeping the play features.
Looking at the Nui Rama, they came out at the $15 mark, meaning Lego in theory could have halved the amount of rahi in that set along with the price 👀

It's certainly interesting
i love it when you just make up random terms xD
My existence is on random terms
@@skybirdmakes thanks for the heart!❤

@@skybirdmakes that’s fair.

Yep, I'm considering how I want to shape it, but think you could get some really abstract stuff with said bifurcation

maybe give it a hook so it can take masks off?🤔😊👍
