To be perfectly fair, if I were a chaos god who embodies freedom, I'd create a bunch of bullshit and annoying dogmas for my follower to follow with the actual intent of wanting them to challenge these dogmas and decide for themselves which they wanna follow and which they'd rather deal with the consequences whatever they may be

Good video, but I don't really see where you get that Skullhell is a god of chaos, he is always described as a god of Darkness and Death, and the cult consider him to be a creator god (which he kinda is if Daruggar legends are true). The volunteer soldier dread knights or Zodiac are chaotic, but that's more to do with the fact that they're volunteer soldiers or that demons are a reflexion of their user (and Ranta is really chaotic).
If anything, the cult proper seems to be quite strict compared to other guilds and organizations.
I'm also not sure about the part on abstinence, I can only remember Ranta talking about it once. And, in context, it's not clear if abstinence is a general rule, something which applies only when inside the guild, or even if it's not a rule but just the consequence of the guild being jail-like.
I guess we will see next volume if it had an impact on Ranta.

It's a mix of thief, hunter with more protection and more direct combat tactics, but it still relies on outmanoeuvering the enemy rather than tanking/deflecting blows. I think this class has a funny theme, but is poorly executed and redundant.
Thief covers the dirty tactics already, is a scout and assassin.
Hunter has the ability to tame/summon a beast to help them in combat or outside of it, has melee combat with machete and basically fights the same way (evasion rather than tanking, getting into the enemy's guard), but hunters are much more versatile than dread knight because they can also do ranger things.
I think dread knight is unnecessary to the worldbuilding, it adds nothing but a trap class that sounds good but is crappy in practice. The whole demon stuff is useless most of the time, hunter's beasts are more useful than a demon that says whatever it wants to confuse you. Thief covers the dirty jobs.
I'd even say that thief is redundant, hunters can scout (they're basically rangers), use their beast friends to track and help them during fights, they can use short blades (better fit for combat than a thief's dagger and also good to deal with forest environment like brambles and low branches), they can use bows to assassinate a target before being spotted (much safer than dagger).
Hunter is the only agility class you need in Grimgar unless you're just doing mafia things in town, where thieves are actually useful. Dread knight is just subpar in every way and a terrible starting class.
Characters in-universe should do a lot more class hopping, if just to collect useful skills. Shihoru should have cross classed mage/priestess and been way more useful outside of combat while staying in character. Yume already chose the only good agility class existing. Haruhiro should have cross-classed into warrior or hunter (more likely hunter: he could have used archery and become a better scout since thief+hunter combo would probably be called scout, and he could have gotten more practical weapons out of the deal, thief really sucks). Moguzo could have gone paladin after Damrow, getting better defense with a shield would have helped a lot in the mines and in the orc stronghold. Ranta is basically a throwaway character, he ruined his future by choosing the only class that can't be swapped and that is subpar to top it off. Mary could have chosen a secondary class that would not undo her link to the deity giving her priestess spells. Priest.ess is very limited in what it can do and often is required to bodyguard the mage in combat, which would be better with equipment that allows it.

Tbh i thnik Dread Knight is an OP class
It has offensive ability of warrior and evasiveness of a thief.
In later volume of Grimgar Ranta is able to stand toe to toe with a lot of opponents that're way stronger than him thanks to his class.
No wonder Dread kNIGHT guild does not allow people to leave the guild. If you can easily transfer class as dread knight to warrior/ priest/ or even mage, you're easily overpowered.
