    I’m writing this on March of 2021, I have been doing Grubhub for six months since October 2020, and I can assure you that all the restaurants that I have gone to have to tamper proof seals on them. I just want to add that this is disgusting and these people should not be calling themselves human beings I would never consider doing that.

      I had ordered from a restaurant that had a tamper proof seal but the person delivering my food was still able to open the bag and close it back up.. they are almost half of my sons burrito and dropped off my food at the pool area of my complex.. when we reached out to Grubhub for a refund they only wanted to refund partial because other door was not eaten .. we explained since the food was in foam containers we didn’t feel comfortable in eating it,, they didn’t care and insisted they will only refund partial.. after being on the phone with them for over 30 minutes(at this point super pissed) they agreed to refund..with this being said .. even if there is tamper proof seals, they will find a way 😕

    Due to a disability, I do not drive. That necessitates me ordering from these places once in a while (not regularly, it does get expensive with the delivery fee and I ALWAYS tip the drivers well). In the past, I have had unsealed orders come to me before and the order of chips, or whatever was suspiciously small but I really did not want to think that the drivers could be disgusting thieves. I live next to Phoenix, the hottest city in the country, and several times, I have had the order delivered with the drink missing! I guess the drivers got thirsty. Of course, the food service will reimburse me or redeliver when this happens. It's a hassle to wait for part of your meal to be redelivered or get reimbursed for part of the meal that you really wanted. Now, I only order from places that have tamper-proof seals on the food. There are many great drivers out there just trying to make a living and not getting paid very much to do it. I don't want to accuse all of them when there are just a few bad actors. Like most of us, I think many of these drivers are honest people, working hard and just trying to serve in a thankless profession.

    Burger king, and McDonalds along with some misc restaurants seal the bag before pickup, yes there is a problem but there are some who are already assisting the industry in making sure food is not tampered with. As a previous delivery driver I would just order from the same place or had already eatin so that I could resist eating somebody elses food and with sodas at mcdonalds for $1 there is never a need to drink from somebody elses order. Every delivery driver is not a bad person, it's always the few that ruin it for the rest of us. JMTC.

    It seems like the most common thing to steal is the French fries, I see two solutions to this issue. Step one, tie off the bag and place a paper sticker on it. If they untie it then it will clearly be visible and there’s no way anyone is getting a paper sticker off in one piece let’s be real 😂. Step two, place the fries in boxes like In-N-Out does and place a paper sticker on that as well.

    I barely trust myself with an open bag of food, let alone a complete stranger.
    I tried UberEats once in order to get a pizza during finals week last spring in order to get more time studying for this HUGE final exam. I was just about ready to pay for and confirm the order when it showed that the food was going to cost me $20, plus $10 for delivery. It gave me an estimated arrival window of an hour, with a disclaimer that the food may be cold upon arrival. The restaurant is 10-15 minutes away and the food, when ordered in person, cost $10 with tax. I immediately deleted Uber zests and jumped into my car. I had a hot and fresh pizza on my kitchen table within 45 minutes.
    Moral of the story: just go pick up your own food. It is usually faster, cheaper, and then the only person who is to blame for eating all your fries before you get home is yourself.

    Local food delivery services, and stores that deliver on their own, place stickers over the bags and boxes. They even place stickers that cover the lids of the drinks. If drivers try to remove the stickers to eat the food, they'd tear the bags or plastic cups easily giving away the crime. However, this doesn't a few never-do-wells from simply taking the food for themselves and never deliver it. They can further this by giving the delivery service a bogus contact number so you cannot contact the driver directly for an update. The only option you have at that point is to cancel the order and get a full refund...IF the delivery service offers that.

    We are a normal family that used these services for years and NEVER have I seen a sealed bag from a variety of restaurants. It is unfortunate for the good drivers, probably 90%, who do a good job. The drivers can also eat an item from your bag and when you realize it is not there, call the restaurant and the driver will say it was not in the bag. There is no checking before the bag leaves the restaurant. Another thing, the delivery companies orders are often left on the counter with a note saying which company is to Pick it up. They don't check anything, I have seen it. The driver comes in and grabs the bag and leaves often without saying anything to the people at the counter. I figured I could just pickup a bag and leave, they wouldn't know. The bags should never be left where people can reach them. On another note, it just isn't delivery. Do you really know what is in your food at a restaurant? I know a guy who worked in an exclusive restaurant in college. When the customer would give the wait staff a hard time, the cooks would add a little to the recipe, like food from another plate or they might spit in it. He also said that the restaurant would sometimes take food form a returned plate and add it to a fresh order. In fact, he was fired for refusing to do that. What can you do? Go get your own food if you can. We no longer order from restaurants that use these services.

    Besides sticking their dirty hands in the bag of food, who knows what else they could have done! It's not safe unless the restaurants have to come up with the seal proof bags or something.

  • @deniecedonnafield5264
    @deniecedonnafield5264 3 года назад

    Yes and some restaurants shove so much stuff in a bag the seals get broken... just breaking by the time you get out to the car.... and many restaurants don't even tape or staple to secure the bag... they claim they've run out of labels.... when the restaurants don't even order them.... it's good when delivery drivers get caught but the restaurants also have to secure their bags... because if something is missing the driver should not have to be considered the thief.... then it's the restaurants fault for not securing.... many restaurants just passed the order on to the driver's even if they don't have everything in the bag

    I work for Doordash and although during the Pandemic they were more places that did the tamper resistance things, basically just taping the bags shut now several places don't bother anymore, but also something that disturbs me, you show a few drivers doing this but make no mention of how many you saw that don't, as in all things there are always those select few that will do something but all in all not the majority, just like I'm sure some news stations will air false news but for the most part they don't.

The reason for that is the bike is mine and Im contracted to the place. If I leave home for work and I forgot to bring my money for buying stuff, I ask for something to eat from the cashier, all they had to do is keep the money when I returned from a trip .
