I always check Charity Watch for any non profit I’m thinking of donating, rescuing, or making a purchase. There are scams everywhere.

That rescue, like most rescues, is obviosly a pet store. 475.00 for a stray dog? Really?

In NYC most to all animal shelters are very expensive to adopt. They make it very difficult sometimes not only due to high prices but the paperwork and overall requirements. That can turn away people who want a pet companion and genuinely want a rescued one. Many of those “animal shelters” are actual pet shops.

Why do you think it should be a puppy? When a shelter dissolves a puppy mill, they have oftentimes hundreds of dogs which look similar. Such bad puppy mill people dont care if they even inbred dogs. And also the used up Mama dogs need a good home!
And sorry but... dont you have EYES?? if you adopt a baby, or a BigMama with hanging titts should be visible for somebody who wants to own a dog!
Do you think, when a Shelter takes in hundreds dogs from a puppy mill these are all puppys?? Ur stupid?

HOPE FOR ANIMALS in fort Wayne Indiana states they're a no kill agency but a coworker of my wife was trying to stop her eviction for a dog and Hope for Animals told her they'd take the dog but since he was a pitbull he would most likely be put down. Now I have a new pitbull pup. I will NOT be giving them any other animals in the future. I do have some 10 wk old kittens that are in desperate need of a good home. Free healthy socialized lovable mostly litter box trained and beautiful. I've kept other rescue kittens and now I'm at my limit and can't keep anymore. Kittens have been raised indoors with my pitbulls and aren't afraid of dogs. Seriously need homes or information for agencies that can help with finding these babies a good home. No toddler parents please. Kids hurt kittens n pups so not putting them in danger

This vidoe is 7 years ago, but I see so many rescue groups charge the adoption fee for over $400 to even $900, to cover any medical expenses, daily expenses. But how do you define rescue? Some are really saving stray dogs or abused dogs, or unwanted dogs, some get it from the hobby breeders though.

I need to find a reputable dog charity to leave my life insurance money to in the U.K. Does anyone know a reliable one? When I look back at life, humans treat others like shit on the ground. Using dog's to scam people is wrong, they are so loyal and deserve more than that. My family are in for a shock hahaha.

I read so many stupid comments here.... what do you think, does it cost to run a shelter and deworm, vaccinate, house, neuter every dog that comes to the shelter?
Some dogs stay months or years or need complicated surgery. Staff needs to be payed,
and to be honest, a new owner should be able to invest 450 $ into a pet, or how will he ever be able to afford a hip replace of 5000 dollar for the dog if he needs it??
You all commenting "its too much for stray dogs" you think too short!
I worked in several shelters, the months bills that pile up, for dog food, vet care, electric/water, staff, inssurances,
it all needs to be payed for. and without additional income through Merch or Donations, many shelters are not able to make ends meet from adoption fees alone.
They work many unpayed overhours, just to keep doors open. Or they need to kill every sick animal which comes through the door to save costs.....
Dont you dare to judge what it costs to run a shelter, if you dont run a shelter yourself!
And if you ask, why pet stores make profit for same price, well, they have only puppies which dont stay long enough to cost a lot.
They put less care into the dogs, dont try to train or resocialite them, they just clean and feed. So its less staff cost also.
To vaccinate deworm and neuter them is up to you to pay.
Than you get home and you recognize, the puppy is sick and needs treatment for hundreds of dollars.... and than you regret buying a bad cared dog from a shop,
instead of helping a trustworthy charity, which doesnt sells you bad cared sick puppys for profit!
They adopt healthy, cared and vaccinated neutered dogs, to people who dont think their dogs are wothless stray garbage which should be sold cheap!
And if you have a problem with the dog in future, the shelter where you got it from, will always be a trustworthy place to bring the dog or to receive advice.
I myself, am german, we dont need kill shelters, simply because we banned pet shops where you can buy alive animals like dogsor cats. you only may buy rabbits guniea pigs and such from a pet store. Dog and Cat Breeders need to meet hard requirements.
So the biggest problem here, is illegal puppy trade from east europe, sold on the internet and bought out of a Van.
But we dont have stray dogs here, the shelters adopt more dogs out that are homeless in germany so we import rescue dogs from many countrys where they still get killed.
Americas Problem is really, that you guys put a price tag on everything, even dogs, and everything shall be cheap doesnt matter who suffers for it.
Here for 450 Euro you only get a little dog or a cat from a shelter, for a big dog you pay way more.
And a puppy from a registered breeder costs couple thousands easily. really rare to see puppys sold under 1.000 euro from a breeder.
Because it costs a lot, to raise and care for puppys in a really family environment, which puppys need to develop their social skills.
You cant have many litters a year with our requirements by law.
Mostly people plan getting a dog, a year ahead and the breeder when mates the dogs already has the forever homes for the puppies in advance of the dogs pregnancy!
Because the legal requirements for breeding are so hard, only really commited dog lovers who really love their breed, are breeding dogs.
Nobody does it just to have the biggest profit out of suffering dogs.
PuppyMills? we dont have that here.....
