In the 50s to 70's, a lot of China and Taiwanese refugees went to Hk and a lot of entertainment, showbiz talents are among the batches. Then in 1960's, a showbiz mogul Runrun shaw built up his entertainment industry by employing all sorts of talents into his showbiz industry. The rest is history. During the 50s to 70s period, is also when the royal police collaborate with the triad gangster in Hk and they both benefitted greatly with huge money profits. Thus Hk is full of triads which run Hk darkside until Hk was returned to China in 1997.That is why many of the gangster movies are so real because the actors live through the times of hardship.
