Going back to this LP hits me with 2 types of nostalgia. Not only was it his first Pokemon LP, but he used the Sky Tower music from PMD in it, which is one of my favourite pieces of video game music ever.
Ahh the good ol Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Sky Tower music. Reminds me of how I would lose all of my Reviver Seeds and Oran Berrys right before meeting Rayquaza. Chuggaa my boy you should make an LP of Red Mystery Dungeon or Explorers of Time.
He talks too much now but I loved these older videoed cause he didn't care about being nasty all he wanted was to be himself and he doesn't even cuss anymore which sucks
I'm under the impression Emile had never used Oddish before. I used it in my Firered team, and, even though it was one of the more slower members of the team, it still outsped a dang lot of stuff. For those wondering, my FR team was Charizard (because I choose my starter based on the version mascot), Vileplume, Machamp, Jolteon, Golduck, and Muk.
Yes, you need to CUT it with the puns. You might BITE off more than you can SWALLOW. While I'm at it, I should say you should enhance your team's STRENGTH. If you train hard enough, you can FLY above the ranks. And if you make enough jokes, you may get an ENCORE. But if you make too many puns, some people may do a HEAD SMASH. You never want to BARRAGE your viewers with too many jokes. I can imagine that everybody who reads this comment will RAGE.
So, this is the first series I'm watching on Chugga's channel. I learned about Emile from The Runaway Guys, and I'd heard he was brilliant at Pokemon, so I thought I'd see him play a game I am more familiar with. Gotta say, it's REALLY impressive to me. While it feels a little less...ummm...personal than some other Let's Plays (what with most battles being skipped and the Pokemon not having nicknames or anything), it's very informative. For example, when he was going through the local new catches, he could talk about pokemon with a level of sophistication that I certainly never got to. In particular I was pleased to hear so many positive things about Bellsprout. I feel like there's some prejudice against Bellsprout so I don't usually hear anything good about it. Anyway, all that to say, I'm impressed, Chugga. Your knowledge of this game and series impresses me, for whatever that's worth.

9:25 Tip for those playing along or for future playthroughs: If you battle the 2nd one far enough away from where she stands so that she no longer blocks the path to the item, you won't have to use cut to get past that tree to get the item later. However, this does require that you fight both trainers.
The music when you were fighting those 5 trainers was very good. That music is also in Pokemon Red Rescue Team. Also you could do a Pokemon Red rescue team Lets Play!!!!
Something about Abra worth noting - you should seriously consider using the Thief TM you picked up in Mt Moon on it. While Thief isn't a particularly good move (only 40 power), these games were before the physical special split, so Dark-type moves are special. In other words, you can teach Abra a special move instantly, rather than switch training it until it evolves into Kadabra and learns Confusion.
An infinite money trick: The Rocket gives you the nugget as part of his speech, you can just lose and get nuggets every time you fight him again. Hope this helps!
Gotta love the Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon music! Those games were really different from the others but I think they nailed the game play. Plus the music is great!

I was thinking the same thing, along with feeling the nostalgia of how awesome the song is along with the game it's from, although I don't remember which one it's from... I like to think Red/Blue Rescue Team?
Not sure if this has been posted in the comments yet, so I apologize if it has been. There's a loophole in the game where you can get unlimited number of nuggets from the team rocket member on the bridge. What you do is before fighting the guy, make sure you only have one pokemon in your party, as it will make things easier. Challenge the rocket guy, and lose the battle. You'll respawn at the Pokemon center, but you'll still have the nugget he gave you, and you can fight him again and get another nugget. If you keep challenging him and losing, you'll keep getting nuggets.
Or you could, you know, NOT sell the Nugget and have it/them for later... That way you don't end up with a boatload of early game items that become less useful later on...
Hey I was wondering, would Pursuit still have it's special effect if you caused the opponent to switch out? Like, if in a double battle, you used Roar with one pokemon, and Pursuit with the other. Would it cause extra damage, or the same?
@ControllerDesigns That's what I've been wondering. I believe it's meaning that they don't appear until the original Gold and Silver versions of Pokemon...a.k.a. the Johto Region (not the HeartGold and SoulSilver games)

@KilledbyRapid charmander learns that move at level 13, but doesn't evolve until level 16. i'm referring to pokemon who learn moves after they are supposed to evolve, but their evolved cannot learn that move. the only two i can think of are spearow learning aerial ace at level 25 and magnemite learning swift at level 38

I destroyed team Rocket and the Pokemon League with my Victreebell in Pokemon Blue. To this day Victreebell is one of my favorite Pokemon.
