The Maheno was being towed to Japan to be scraped when they met a cyclone. She broke the tow and the rest is history. She also has and amazing history before that starting in 1905. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Maheno
DINGO PROBLEM EXPLAINED IN TRUTH. Fraser Island was full of Brumbies and not too long ago the government culled them due to over population and national park etc. The shooters left the carcasses on the ground where they fell and the dingo had an amazing food source for a few years. This created a population explosion therefor expanding the dingo's to an overpopulated animal. Human feeding or not these dogs would've done what is need to survive. Thanks National Park for blaming everyone else for you abhorrent error.
Every time wheel nuts come loose on a landcruiser its always on the left side. they solved this problem in the 60s by making wheel studs on the left side left hand thread, my old 1968 valiant regal had them left on the left... i didnt know and snapped every stud off till i worked it out XD
Last saw this island in 1973 about September. We were sailing up the coast. Was fun to see the place. Our main problem was we were told there were lots of sharks in the water. I misjudge getting on board and ended up in the sea. Dad had gone back to shore to pick up mum and youngest sister, so my brother was trying to pull me back on board. Yes the wreak looks smaller.
When you confuse the poor dingoes about where they live - they get viscous. The island is called Fraser - don't be calling it some imaginary name that never existed ever and the dingoes will not bite you.
I don't understand why Jase and Simon have invite other guys on their trips. There is never any chemistry and the new guy always comes across as a third wheel.
I’ve always thought exactly the same thing, draws too much attention away from Simon. And the show isn’t as high stakes as it used to be either. Too many spare vehicles on the trip for us to worry about anyone losing a vehicle to tide etc. I’ve also long since been suspecting that Jessie was being slowly exposed to audiences over the years as a successor to Simon. It’s because Jase owns a fair portion of Creative Conversions. The 300 Series needs to be driven in the series to promote that business. I’d just drive the Chevy for half and 300 for half.
pretty disappointing that you don't know the history of the maheno. did the new zealand to aus run as a civillian ship was converted to a ww1 hospital ship evacuated injured from gallipoli was being towed to japan for scrap in 1935 tow line broke in a cyclone wash shipwrecked on fraser island and was used for aircraft weapons training in ww2.
@shaunlowis8221 Jesse looks like he is having fun dressing sensibly for our climate 🤔. Every had pieces cut out of your body? Makes you consider your choices.
I concur. Lowering the tyre pressure increases the coefficient of rolling resistance (CRR) - great for driven wheels in soft conditions. What that means for non driven wheels on sand needs some serious study. One day, I would like to do my masters on that very topic. Every serious 4WDer seems to belong in the 'lower everything' camp. A simple test involving a gorilla cart, some sand, a load, and a person pulling it seems to suggest higher tyre pressure reduces the required pull force.
@ Lol , I’m pretty sure Jase & Simon have done real world testing (No Masters degree required here 😂 ) they do tow more than a bit , In all sorts of conditions.
Guys, your loosing common sense. Do we really have to believe 5 of the 6 wheel nuts all came off within 10 metres if where the ambo stopped? Ambo needed more than 10 metres to stop guys....is it getting hard to do a descent show nowadays?
All four Adventures but you've never gone to South Africa you're not living up to the name all four adventure it's not called all for Australia Adventures you might have to change your name we need to see an overseas trip you have the sponsors you're probably the best Overlanders in Australia but you've never gone overseas first trip needs to be South Africa
Dingoes used to be white--- then my recent trips last 6 years I see they have become darker and striped. They have crossbred with alsations or something to make them aggressive .
Wow, tough Aussie men with an even tougher audience, 😂 good thing you have thick skin. Will always be Frazer Island 🏝 to me. Notice how people call it both today, they are caught in the middle, my assumptions it will eventually be called K’gari with the youngsters of today, and the Looney left agenda of woke pushing that barrow hard, remember Ayer’s Rock - Now Uluṟu for an example, will Aussies push back hard if Frazer was closed, or you had to pay outrageous prices for the privilege like the rock was closed for climbing and enjoying the views. Vote out the woke.. Australia is Our country to love and live in, especially now for your kids and grandkids to enjoy in their futures.
Eventually you won’t see any signage on the island, accomodation or online when booking so naturally ‘Fraser’ will fade out. I don’t really care what it’s called as long as I can still go there. In a time when kids can change their gender like their undies, we have bigger issues to worry about.

THE WHEEL NUT IS HOLDING THE MAN BUN
Awesome episode at K'Gari fellas 👍🏾
There's no way he's gonna risk getting that boy bun dirty😂🙃😉
No, we dont want to remember mistakes eh Jess 😅
Cool Ep
bit suss on the "missing wheel nuts" seems like a made for TV moment.
Sure does.
That thing is so big, the bonnet is higher then Jase’s shoulders… and he isn’t short
Top ep guy utes look good
Is that near Fraser Island?
When you confuse the poor dingoes about where they live - they get viscous. The island is called Fraser - don't be calling it some imaginary name that never existed ever and the dingoes will not bite you.
Do you have a source to prove the Indigenous people never called it K'gari before the colonists arrived...?
Viscous?😂
You never been outside
Mate “viscous” is all we need to know to not take you seriously 😂
@RussNortonCK I'm going to assume the silent K, in a language with no written records, means it's not historically correct
Everyone calls it Fraser😊
Soon thanks to those drivers genius/legends we won't be able to go anywhere 😮😢
Fraser
In an emergency you could aiways pinch one off each of your other wheels.
Those tyres looked new on the ambo. Probably installed shortly before
Cool
Good to see simon what is the new van haven't seen it before
Maybe tell the viewers how many PSI your tires were and how much PSI you let them down to...
LOL quicker and eaier to use those easy tyre deflators vs that hose thing.
I don't understand why Jase and Simon have invite other guys on their trips. There is never any chemistry and the new guy always comes across as a third wheel.

Yep , I am Jealous too 😎
Righto simp 😂
Always wanted to go to Fraser Island, looks like great fun!
Mate, I hope you guys didn’t get old mate sacked😂
Fraser Island
Bit of a rookie mistake for supposedly professional 4 x 4 ers not checking all the other wheel nuts on the ambulance!
This show has gone down hill big time
They need to get rid of Jessie, he has zero personality
Simon: I know this beach really well
also Simon: Haven't been ere in bloody 10 years
How about using the correct name for the island on your title. It's Fraser Isalnd if you didn't know.
You want a tissue bub
You want a tissue bub

Air out of your trailer tyres???
If you are going to run wide apertures on the cameras then sort out your autofocus!
Isuzu is pretty much same size as Chevy load bed lol 😂
Will always be Fraser Island to me too. Honestly you can't change a name. Just like a boat, you just don't change its name.
Any chance you dabble in a bit of racism too?
It was K'Gari Long before Fraser Island, therefore what you're saying is you can't change the name from K'Gari so therefore it's not Fraser.
Some blokes dieing in the ambo and old mates takifn his sweet time getting some extra content 😂
Possibly the most overrated and overcomplicated inskip approach I've ever seen. Please just go back to actual 4wd
Fraser Island !! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
1935 it was getting toed to Japan for scrap and got hit by a cyclone
Be nice to see you guys showing an example of sensible sun protectin. Tjose sleeveless shirts are yesterday's thung really. Jesse is with it. 🎉
Geez you sound fun at parties!
@shaunlowis8221 Jesse looks like he is having fun dressing sensibly for our climate 🤔. Every had pieces cut out of your body?
Makes you consider your choices.
You wouldn’t change ya dogs name, why change an islands? 😂
Letting air out the trailer tyres won’t that cause more drag as they aren’t powered/mechanically moving? Sorry new to 4WD scene
Cars will be driving in low range so less load on engine and drive line

Definitely lower trailer pressures, stops sand build up in front of tyre
@ Lol , I’m pretty sure Jase & Simon have done real world testing (No Masters degree required here 😂 ) they do tow more than a bit , In all sorts of conditions.
Try that in the real world mate and see how far you get with you're untested theory.
Absolutely stupid
How it’s not chained boards like most places are going 15 yrs ago I went thru 5 rocks. So easy with boards
Three stooges…..production director couldn’t make the trip?
Call it Garry
Too set on wheel nuts crap
Guys, your loosing common sense. Do we really have to believe 5 of the 6 wheel nuts all came off within 10 metres if where the ambo stopped?
Ambo needed more than 10 metres to stop guys....is it getting hard to do a descent show nowadays?
If that ferry captain isn’t the owner I doubt he still has a job and the rest of this ‘episode’ just seemed pretty contrived and pointless to me.
Hey, more than 62% of us all said no to the voice of VB, so can we use actual proper names and not the scab tribe ones ?
Pretty disappointing to hear you fob off the traditional owners name of K'gari. Surely its not that hard to learn the name.
Karen’s getting triggered by the word K’gari is almost as entertaining as the episode was 😂
If you wana call it by that name you should frigging canoe over and walk it. Disgrace
Dingoes used to be white--- then my recent trips last 6 years I see they have become darker and striped. They have crossbred with alsations or something to make them aggressive
.
When are you boys going to go overseas everyone else does why don't you guys go do a South African trip if anyone agrees with me Please Like This
37s, they are a cute tyre.
Disgusting that you guys are making fun of the traditional name. So ignorant and dumb
Only tossers call it k-garbagie this is Australia mate it's Frazer island great place..
Most boring episode ever
Watch out for the non indigenous, feral, introduced puppy dogs.
Wow, tough Aussie men with an even tougher audience, 😂 good thing you have thick skin. Will always be Frazer Island 🏝 to me. Dead right mate 💯 make Fraser Island grate again 👏
